| I still don't really get Ubel, understand that she is psycho but I hope it is more than that. The battle with Fern and Frieren against her replica was pretty intense, I wasn't expecting her to go down easy and we even got to see her use that magic(?) to push Fern back, but in the end that resulted in its loss. For a second test this was more than I expected. Couldn't have a part like this end without Frieren getting eaten by a mimic! |

| Just have one word for this: EPIC This episode was so intense, and also emotional in a way, because with this battle Fern was actually able to learn more about Frieren, seeing a state she has never seen Frieren in before, with that strong spell, and the way Fern was able to make Frieren clone summon it, when Frieren hasn't used it in 80 years, wow, she's amazing. Also, Ubel is really strong, and the key for her success is just not thinking too much, which is honestly genius in this setting. Simplifying the thought of cutting fabric made her able to cut through that examiner, but it seems like she really didn't want to do that, but was more of a mistake, but she also didn't seem troubled by that either. Anyway, she was able to completely destory Sense's clone, a clone that everyone was afraid. Also, that guy that went alone in that dungeon ended up not making it, along with Lawine and the other guy. Lawine and Kanne are now separated, which is honestly sad, it's unfortunate they were unlucky enough to have Sense's clone right behind them. It seems the next episode is going to start the 3rd exam, but my doubt is if they will be able to finish it in only 2 episodes. Also, can't really believe I only have 2 more episodes of Frieren left :(((( Also, when Fern was attacked by Frieren's clone, her wand was destroyed and the bracelet that Stark gave her fell, I wonder if she picked it up, or if that is coming up in the next episode. But that scene was for sure the most intense. Also, they outdid themselves with the animation in this one, it brought back the feelings of the fight between the Demons and Stark and Fern back in episodes 9/10! Incredible work honestly, I loved every bit of this episode! And although it was action-packed, it had the Frieren type of episode right there (unlike the 1st exam, which lacked on that), and it was there throughout the entire exam. Right to the next episode we go! |

| During Ubel's talk with Denken & Land, I was about to say that mage battles in this anime are like rock-paper-scissors, but I guess there was no need to since Mommy Methode had said it already. And damn, the animation on this episode was absolutely INSANE, it's a shame I couldn't see it clearly through my tears of joy. One thing's clear though... Frieren's death stare is going to be engraved in my brain for eternity lol |

| Ah i accidentally typed out episode 26 in the forum for 25 my fault ill edit that post now. Badass episode and we had 2 disqualifications of that suit shop owning guy and the blue dress girl. But badass action scene and we got another part of Frieren being stuck in a mimic which in my opinion is the funniest part of this series. |

@Ba-Cii10 You're not understanding my point because you're limiting it to Ubel's delusion.
The rule has been established that if you're deluded enough, you're able to do something you shouldn't be able to. Considering how effortlessly Sense was able to defeat basically everyone else, it is very clear that Sense is insanely powerful. As well as the flashback example in which the gent made an absolutely impervious armor that apparently most of the other Tier 1 magicians didn't believe they could beat it. Yet the explanation given was that Ubel was so delusional that she could not only cut it, but that she did it effortlessly... Hell, she so insanely overkilled it that she was apparently holding back and still cleaved him in half... The argument that her delusions are limited is a limitation to Ubel specifically. Basically the example they gave was that an ant can't imagine crushing a Dragon, except they also made it clear that eventually an ant would be delusional enough and that would be absolutely fine.
Basically Ubel is an ant and she's able to effortlessly crush the 'dragon' that is Sense.
Like... There are concrete/hard magic systems, which the show has basically heavily pushed itself towards. I really admire that...
But then there are soft magic systems in which basically anything goes, and the idea that an ant would eventually be delusional enough to crush a dragon because magic... Is what they have opened with this 'Ubel System'... They have literally opened the door to a soft magic system.
Denken may have believed he could beat Frieren, but Denken has the 'curse' of being a fairly reasonable and logical person. He isn't actually delusional, just confident.

| @Talamare In a simple way... Scissors beats hair. Similar to fire vs grass or lightning vs water. Ubel is the counter to Sense, so she can overcome that. Just like a small flame will eventually consume a field of grass. |

| @ddrcrono Started watching Frieren days ago, and was trying to figure out who the green dude that was being carried by a golem and it was this guy. At the least he distracted 3 clones from the main group. Frieren was originally in my list to watch since release but got delayed up till now. I can say I got plenty of time till S2. Thanks to all the YT shorts for spoiling me too much that I finally decided to watch it. |
| This magic system is stupid, "I think I'm going to win so I'll win!" I dont like that at all, very dumb. SO no matter how hard you try, a kid with an ego can beat you, great! |

| Pretty straightforward. The battle of mages against replicas. They match with who they feel they can defeat. However, when running into Sense's replica, two are eliminated, including Lawine. Now Kanne is without her friend. At this point, no one has died, though. Ubel, on the other hand, is insane and a genius. She's able to defeat Sense easily, and the real Sense knows this. Frieren and Fern battle the Frieren replica, and finally are able to defeat it at the expense of Fern's staff. They then destroy the monster. Everyone who did not escape passes to the next test. Beautifully done episode full of action and strategy. The quality of the animation and art in this episode is great. 2 episodes left in season 1! |

| Sense’s crazy hair stood no chance against Ubel and her even crazier nature. When Frieren actually gets serious, she is capable of some absolutely insane spells. Fern also did a great job “disarming” Frieren’s copy. The animation for that entire fight looked incredible. And seriously, whose idea was it to put multiple mimics at the very bottom of the dungeon? |
