| it's actually really fun to see the small differences between the manga in the anime. makes it feel like you're experiencing something new even though you know what happens. i think i made the right decision to read and watch at the same time, although i'll be reading far ahead |
| Zoro's first introduction was great and diverted expectations of what we had thought of him due to earlier statements from koby. Helmeppo's design is also good as it is easy to hate him |

| We get a bit of an introduction to Zoro, the pirate hunter in this episode, but we also learn that both the navy and the pirates don't exactly have their hands clean in this world. I loved this episode! We get to see more of Luffy's powers, and I just love the feeling of this anime in general! It's weird, but it almost makes me feel nostalgic, despite never watching this until now. We also get to see more of Nami (I think that's her name), and it looks like we may learn a bit more about her in the next episode |
