I will love DGM and HOshino if she kills off Kanda. Not often an author would pull this kind of daring move.

To all the fangirls. How about you put away the goggles and look at everything objectively for once?

Kanda has clearly stated he does NOT give a shit about the Order and what it does. His only reasons he refused to die over and over again was to FIND THAT PERSON. GUESS WHAT? HE DID! Mission accomplished. End of story.

To have him return after this chapter would be cheap. His role in the overall plot is MINIMAL at most. And with his THAT Person deal all solved even more so. Out of the OT4 he is the one with the WEAKEST connection to the main plot. If he returns his role will be reduced to that of a tank with a timer on him until he finally croaks it. THat's it.

A character that gets saved from death because he is popular is the most lame of them all and the author who chickened out of it because of those same reasons is even more lame.

With that said RIP KANDA AND STAY DEAD LIKE CROSS.

*gets flame fortress ready since fangirls will deff try and tear him a new one*

I agree with this 100%.
I'm kind of tired of all the characters magically getting revived.
It worked well with the whole musician thing, but if it were to happen again, that would just be overkill.
This story needs a little tragedy in my opinion.

Not sure why you posted this like five times though.

Considering that was far from being a blatant death scene, it wouldn't feel that much like a campy cheat of death imo. Kanda coming back probably wouldn't advance the plot much, it would likely more so develop Kanda's character, such as showing he has something else to live for aside from that person. It is important to develop your characters well, not only advance the plot. Given how Kanda was all about collecting innocence efficiently, and had other subtle signs of caring about the war and the people involved in it, it wouldn't be bad character growth to show these things about him come full circle. And even though his backstory may be finished, that doesn't have to mean his character has nothing left to contribute. That really depends on the author.

I see nothing good in killing off Kanda. After all, he is the only asocial character in the lot. And I love him for that. Even if he were ugly, I would have still disliked him being death. I think I would get along much better with such a person than with someone like Allen or (tch) Miranda...This is why he is an important character. It is simply because he is the one and only who people of the different kind would associate with. He just puts it simple -" I do my own, you do yours however you want. Just don't get into my way."

This is why he is liked by me. However, as I read some comments I really think I might be one in a million. I would appreciate it if they kill him off without ruining his character. I would prefer him dead than a slimy thing such as Miranda or a silly one like Lavi (although I appreciate their existences and style, I wouldn't sacrifice Kanda and leave them alive...Moreover, they are supposed to be at a lower level.)

Btw, about the chapter and everything... I am not that interested in Kanda's love life to be honest... I wanted him to be looking for revenge for someone who killed his father or family or his original mentor. Love just...I don't know... Kinda too soft. But it seems like mangakas need this type of character to have something soft in the past (Byakuya in Bleach, who should be the same type in a way has this thing with his dead wife and stuff...), so I will try to ignore my disliking of this.

About the character development. I feel like the mangaka has put up a lot of effort to have one of each types of characters/people. This is why I doubt she will kill off Kanda. I suppose she has some better plans for him and I hope they are good ones (and that she doesn't ruin this silent, antisocial, stiff and untalkative guy).

@Darklight0303
OH, and by the way, Cross is too smart to be gone as easily. Trust me. I see your point here, you are mad because you liked the manga and all but disliked the fangirls. You have to bear with it, because they are everywhere. I have been disgusted by musicians, artists and actors because of their fanbase. If you hate them so much, just ignore them entirely. It works when you get used to doing it.

@ poznati

I agree that reviving all characters is lame. As I said, Kanda would be fine dead ;) However, Cross has planned this all along, so he's never even been hurt if you ask me. There are plenty of ways to simulate one's death even with a good amount of blood in there. He is just getting a rest somewhere, not wanting to take a side for now, because he needs to see what will happen. However, no matter how obvious it is for me, your opinions may vary (not only to poznati).

If some of u guys want kanda dead that bad..I'd prefer him to die in a more tragic way than just disappearing into the ark..like when I thought he actually died in the beginning of the chapter( I stopped reading and started crying like crazy)..but being a kanda fan I still want him to live of course. overall great chapter

Ah well I was actually referring to Kanda and not Cross because, like you said, I believe Cross is far too intelligent to just die. And if he was dead, that would be very upsetting as he is one of the more interesting characters in DGM.
I also agree with what you said about Kanda's character not being tampered with. If he does end up being alive, it would be terrible if his personality were to change.

Even as a yaoi fangirl, this chapter was kind of wtf for me. The things about Alma turning into dark matter didn't make sense to me. Neither did Allen's breaking of the gate, I didn't even know he could do that -__-

Well the good things that happened are:
Allen has more or less decided that he won't align with either the Order or the Noahs.
Kanda calling Allen by his actual name (lol, it was kind of cute XD)
This arc is almost over.

Kanda better not be dead. I'd like this arc to be character development for him, so I can see how he deals with everything. It would be really interesting if all of the central 4 defected to their own side of the war!!!

This.
I'm getting really tired of random things that keep happening that make no sense.
There needs to be a chapter that just explains everything, because right now new things just keep getting introduced without any explanation whatsoever and it's really starting to get annoying.

true but his sole reason for being there was to search for her right? correct me if im wrong...

No, you're definitely right on that one. Even though she was his main goal, I didn't think that would make him throw away everything else he's worked so hard towards, though.

But I think I'm going to stop being butthurt until more is confirmed lol. It's possible Kanda isn't "running away" with Alma for good, but just taking Alma away so he can go in peace. Allen did only say bye to Alma. Plus, that sounds better to me than Kanda being a hopeless romantic and saying "screw you" to the war and everyone else lol. Instead, it'd be more like Kanda for once being like Allen, and wanting to do what's best for one person, instead of thinking of the big picture and just getting the mission done the most efficiently. But eh, who the heck knows, really XD!

This so much! Completely agreed!

It feels like I'm only reading about every other page and am missing key points in the plot and the art because I do not see the transitioning at all. How did Allen get back to normal? Since when was Kanda's body glued back together? Was roping the Earl necessary? Allen has ~gate-breaking~ powers? What was up with Tim Canpy? Isn't Kanda's promise with the girl over...now that he found her, pretty much? So Alma trying to self-destruct was kind of futile since Kanda found out anyway.

Uhhh.

(Needs more 14th though, after this.)

Wait wait wait, progress? In one chapter? O.O
...Oh right, this isn't Bleach <trollface.jpg>
Well I'm fine with anything as long as Allen keeps being as cool as he was just now, and as long as Kanda survives.
Protip: I don't really check the forums anymore, so if you want something, take it on my profile.
Is it time for my long-awaited return to the forums? щ(゚Д゚щ) Nope™, probably not.
