So they’re still dragging this Akira thing out huh, can’t say I’m fan of that, last few episodes and this one have all been really good overall but man if this is all just gonna be because she’s a fan of Marin’s, I’m gonna be kinda mad lol, won’t hurt my score of the season or anything but yeah, just a little annoying. With that out of the way, this was a really good one, I loved seeing Sajuna step out of her comfort zone and finally cosplay a character that doesn’t suit her body type, Miyako did a banger job I must say, the cosplay came out wonderfully and this wasn’t even a Gojo special job.

And I’m ngl, I wasn’t sold on Miyako and Suzuka being consistent characters initially, but they really won me over with their talk of enjoying being an adult at the end, I agree so hard man, like what I’m doing rn is watching anime as an adult because I love it, I’m probably gonna be watching it even when I’m turning gray (assuming I get that far lol), just because you’re older doesn’t mean you should quit doing what you love, such true words. And this ties back to the Akira backstory we got, that really is sad that her mom became so strict on the anime and manga, I’m sure in her head she’s looking out for her daughter’s future but really all it did was hurt poor Akira, thankfully she found the right crowd in college to share her interests with.

And with that, we just have one more episode left, this Season 2 almost felt like a myth until recently, but now it’s nearly over already, I’m sad but it’s been a fantastic season, I really hope a Season 3 is a possibility.

Damn. Made me tear up. To anyone experiencing what Akira and Juju did, you'll find your people! I eventually did and it made me so much happier. It's also okay to leave people who don't vibe with you anymore.

And I wanted to know more about Akira. Well, to be fair, we already know quite a bit about her, and I'm genuinely glad she met those two girls who helped her become who she is. But that still doesn't explain the distance she keeps from Marin. Although, honestly, it doesn't seem like hatred so much as the opposite, especially considering how she zoomed in on Marin's photo.

Incredibly boring episode. Lots of forced positivity. Almost all the time spent on characters who are secondary and irrelevant. Boring , boring, boring.

When you say someone's hobby is stupid you are also denigrating the person and all it achieves is breeding resentment and estrangement.

Anyway, one of the best things I like about this anime is the sense of community. Everyone is so supportive helping each other grow as cosplayers. There is no competition because everyone is winning :D

You can't hate to be an adult entirely just for this one reason:

(yeah, it happens)

I’ve seriously been thinking how do these characters afford this professional cosplay other than our Model Kitagawa. I feel just broke on living expenses.

I’ve been one to complain about this season being boring and political, but I don’t know why people are complaining this episode. Finally got the prop making I wanted to see, we got cosplay, and a bunch of backstory on the characters with a setup for the next episode. 5/5 in my book this week

Great ep

Love how those 2 really made life much easier for Akira. Those are the types of friends most anime lovers would die for. Individuals that simply understand and love what u love.

Juju looks great.

Their analogy works perfectly with watching anime, u can watch whenever u want at any age, we shouldn't let age dictate us from enjoying what we want to enjoy.

This ep adapted ch 78-81, tho it was switching back and forth between chapters.

@phantomfandom It almost certainly will. This is CloverWorks' magnum opus
@HajimeNozomiUwU

Of course I hope you're right since final Cosplay arc is my fav arc of MDUD BY FAR in the Manga but I wouldn't say MDUD anime is their "magnum opus".

Bocchi the rock (the anime itself not the Manga obviously, MDUD's Manga is 10 times more successful) is more popular and don't forget that Cloverworks kinda co-product Spy x Family too , I don't know how much they own it since it feels like it belongs a bit more to WIT STUDIO overall but still.

Even Bunny girl senpai looked a bit more popular prior to its second season but after this summer, I'd say MDUD is definitely more popular and successful for them now.

So yeah it's their third most popular show (if you count Spy x Family) we'll see how Kaoru Hana does once it ends too, I know the Manga is now selling really well with 2M copies sold in the last few months but I doubt it's reaching MDUD's popularity anytime soon.

Anyway, as a Manga reader I only care about the sequel announcement now and if we'll see the final cosplay next week , there's really no good stopping point in the Manga from where the episode ended (End of chapter 81) in the upcoming chapters other than end of chapter 86 where the final cosplay is shown so I hope it's the cliffhanger for this season.

So Akira's parents were not fond of her hobby, that sucks. But I wonder what's with her and Marin... first I thought she's jealous because Marin was able to express her love for cosplaying her whole life, but maybe she's actually in love with her?
Miyako is the fucking MVP though, she brought Akira back into anime/manga and now also made Juju continue with cosplaying.
I really love this show's message that age doesn't matter when it comes to hobbies, just like what you like.

@JayDaAnimeLord At this point I don't know if they will do a skip-time and adapt the whole manga, although there is still content for one more season, or being more reasonable and end up where you say. Cloverworks has a lot of (and maybe too many) animes to adapt even in the same season...this one is a perfect example.

I wonder why Aniplex don't give more work to A1 Pictures. Sorry for the off-topic.

Akira parent is an ass to forbid Akira to have those hobbies... Luckily she's alone now and is having a nice friends that share the same hobbies.
"Being adult is so much fun! Cause you can spend way more more cash than you were in school"
Not for all adult...... When I'm still working, almost all of my money spend for family and house rent.
Now after marriage, busy with raising kids at home... Hope in the future when my children grow up, I can start a new job and pursuing my hobbies too.

The start to this episode was a sad reminder that some parents are like this with their children in what they're allowed to have in terms of hobbies. In this case for Akira, her parents were very against her liking anime and manga, even to the point of throwing out her manga collection because of their own general dislike of that medium. To put it bluntly, I do hate these types of parents that force this type of ideal on their own kids and expect them to agree and obey for the rest of their lives. It does explain more as to why Akira has a shy and closed off personality to begin with. =(

Thankfully, over time, she got to become friends with Miyako and Suzuka due to their love of anime, manga and cosplay. Since she's an adult herself, Akira can do whatever she wants to do and like whatever she wants to like and no one can tell her otherwise. It's thanks to her friends that she was able to get out of that shell and enjoy working on hobbies that she loves.

Speaking of her friends, they were excellent in their support for Sajuna and her worries about cosplaying characters that have a different height and bust size compared to herself. Both Miyako and Suzuka helped transform Sajuna into a character that she thought that it would be impossible for her to cosplay as and she looked simply incredible. It's helped Sajuna to open herself up and her moment where she laughed with a beautiful smile on her face is proof of that. =)

The only question remains is about why Akira isn't fond of Marin. At least Marin is aware about it, but doesn't seem to mind, but I do hope there's a way they both can find a common ground to respect each other both ways. Maybe the group cosplay should help with that, who knows.

Yes Ive thought for a while the would take it up to the start of the Haniel arc.

The Haniel arc and the manga conclusion would be enough content for a movie, that might be the best for the series.

@Greentreefrog

I feel like Haniel arc wouldn't work with a movie, too many cliffhangers in this arc so it would benefit way more from the weekly anime format.

I really hope it will be an anime season even if they don't make it 12 EPs , if there's not enough material (there will be around 30 chapters left) a 8-10 EPs season could work too imo.

Of course if there's a movie I will gladly accept it no matter what as long as I get my fav arc of this Manga animated but a movie would make this arc lose its magic imo , you really need to adapt the cliffhangers with weekly format, there's a lot of tension in this arc after all.

Real heartwarming episode, I really hope that they'll make a new season after this one, it sucks knowing that next saturday'll be the last episode and I'd really love to see more of this series. I also heard there is still a decent amount of stuff that they can still adapt so I have high hopes for a season three

Why are we still here… just to suffer? Every episode, I can feel the romance… the scenes with Gojo and Marin… even the awkward little moments between them… The story I loved… the characters I cherished… it won’t stop hurting, like they’re all still there… You feel it too, don’t you? I’m the one who got caught up watching Amane’s melodramatic flashbacks, the endless sob stories of side characters, their cosplay hobby shamed again and again… The extras keep piling up, each subplot growing, swallowing the moments we cared about… Who knows how many more episodes it’ll take… Boss… I’m gonna make it give back what was stolen… Take back the spark, the romance, the laughter, the awkward charm… everything that made the first season unforgettable. And I won’t rest… until we do. Their true story… I don’t know how long it will take, but I’ll make it whole again… more focused… less repetitive… more fun… Boss…

Oh yeah Akira has shitty parents too nah.
Well finally a genuinely good episode after LONG time.
Juju part was really good. Following your hobby with your earned money is very resonating.

Juju as black lobelia is way hotter than Marin. The actual Nun cosplay as season finale. Not the worst of place to end.
The Akira stick is still continuing till last episode 🤣🤣🤣

Man, two episodes have passed and we are still in the dark regarding Akira's reason to hate Marin. Why are they building tension over something that's most likely gonna end up being super trivial?

Anyways, still a very solid episode. Really liked the role Miyako played in it and how she ended up "saving" both Akira and Sajuna from quitting their respective passions. Even though it's unrealistic how Sajuna thought only young people could cosplay but well.

Nice episode I guess, I'm not that sold on having so many characters at once but whatever.
Now I like Akira more, but it's infuriating we still don't know the real reason why she doesn't like Marin lol, making us wait for the last episode to know it is lame ngl.

Wholesome episode.

As I thought, Akira's past back, back when she attended school, might be the reason of why she seems to dislike Marin. Y'know, she might be just very jealous of Marin. Marin can do whatever she wants when it comes to consuming anime, manga, or cosplaying, while Akira was effectively limited in her activities by her parents who did not approve of their daughter having such a hobby. Or maybe there's another reason? At first I thought she might've been her fan, too shy and kinda startled to talk to her favorite cosplayer or with Marin around, but now, after all these eps, I'm not sure.

In the meantime, Juju's personality as a cosplayer matured a little. New horizons, new possibilities, and new friends who showed all of it to her. She even laughed at the end of this episode, haha. Oh, speaking about this ep's ending - that grill looked epic. I need to buy something like that.

@Denkenisme Well... This anime is focused on cosplays, after all. I also wish there were more slice of life or romance moments, but at the same time I appreciate learning more about the world of cosplays, even if such scenes may feel overwhelming at times, hehe.

Slow-paced episode, but it had a lot of meaning. It's all about not giving up on things you enjoy because they give some life into your life. In this case, it's the cosplaying. In short, you're never too old to enjoy the things you love. In fact, when you grow older, and it has been pointed out in this episode that you spend a longer time being an adult, you tend to have more resources for your hobbies. This is most especially true if your hobbies make you feel alive. Personally, this is one episode I needed to see right now just because of this particular message.

there's only one episode left, this season was pretty boring with close to zero development to the main story. It felt like a cosplaying slice of life with zero conflict whatsoever, which is not what I, or I think anyone, expected. I wonder if we'll even get anything going next episode, the group cosplay will probably eat up all the episode, so what's the plan going forward? Surely season 3, right? When tho? All the hype for season 2 feels like regret now.

doesnt seem like we'll get much if any actual progress any more. its been just a cosplay slice of life most of the season, which isnt necessarily bad but thats not what at least i am here for.
im here for marin and gojou romance.
@HiljainenSipuli i agree with you on this. I def love the cosplay but i am sad to see there is no further progress with their relationship like in the first season. I doubt they will dive into it on the last ep of this season too. Hopefully they have a season 3 and get back into their relationship progress.
