So the massive gang going after Shizuka were hired by that rich bastard who wanted to "buy her", as though she was property. ๐Ÿคข

For a bizarre world where high school teachers and police officers inexplicably do not exist (the complete absence of the latter brings the John Wick franchise in mind), and high schools are constantly on 'break mode', without a single lesson, functioning like youth clubs, I quite enjoy this show.

Another great episode only thing I didn't like was the girl. That I must sacrifice myself despite everyone fighting for me is a trope I really cannot stand. So the emotional impact it was trying to convey just came across as irritating. She needs to grow a backbone

Despite the stand against Gravel, it looks as if Roppo Ichiza is about to give up with Sakura in tow when Shizuka decides to give into the pressure. This is where Nire comes in to take his stand to protect her, though Shizuka's clearly had enough of seeing the ones she loves and care for, being battered because she came from the same place as the outlawed gangs did.

The moment to stop her, thankfully, came from Tsubaki and the Sasaki twin brothers Seiryu and Uryu proving their weight even more with their perfect coordination and tag teaming. It's a war dance between one of Bofurin's Four Kings and Gravel's leader Suzuki Shuhei, and the makeup powerup of the former, the existence of his living, shows off who he truly is.

If this is not the full extent of Tsubaki, then his true nature is even more terrifying...

Sheesh, the Seiryu-Uryu duo is certainly something! They're doing a series of fantastic movements in sync. Besides that, we also get to see Tsubaki in fight (against GRAVEL's leader, Shuhei Suzuri). Man, his moves are so smooth, and imagine fighting with high heels, like fr.

Yeah the fights were cool but I really hate the trope of the "damsel" running into conflict to stop the fighting by offering herself up. First half of this episode might have been my least favorite part of this show so far.

Now we have more of the story of why GRAVEL was offered a bunch of money to get Shizuka.

She’s from the Sunaba District just like them, and she was given money to improve her life since she started out poor. She eventually found Kanji and fell in love with him and now she’s trying to sacrifice herself to prevent them from getting hurt. But, Tasuku isn’t letting that happen and this time around, Haruka has shown significant growth yet again in comparison to the battle against KEEL. Rather than insisting on staying in the fight, Haruka ensures Shizuka that he’s gonna protect her with everything he’s got, and we get to see Tasuka, Seiryu, and Uryu in action, clapping everybody with little to no difficulty.

Shizuka will stay here on Keisei Street no matter the cost, because that’s what makes her happy. Shuhei Suzuri doesn’t know what he’s in for now that Tasuku has gotten serious. We again get to see one of the Crowned Kings in action.

I didn’t expect such depth to this current conflict established so quickly, but it’s done in a way that it’s understandable and doesn’t feel forced or rushed. Great show!

“Girls always have one or two secrets” I’d almost gone two weeks without crying to windbreaker so of course they had to break my streak this week with Shizuka ๐Ÿ˜ญ what an episode, this is shaping up to be my fave yet I’m so excited. Tsubakino supremacy!!!!

Shizuka get behind me!! We will protect you. Idk what she’s running from, but Shizuka has finally found a place where she belongs with people, and the man she loves. I’ll die about protecting her from these Gravel people and apparently the rest of the cast feel the same way lol. Idk what it’s called, but the OST that plays during that scene is soooo good too. They’ve played it during a lot of the emotional moments and it always hits.

“Those who make fun of things that people like usually aren’t satisfied with themselves” not only is that the realest shit ever from Tsubakino, but I think that’s probably at the core of this fight. Idk who hired Gravel, but it’s apparent that the leader got really upset seeing Shizuka have all these people willing to defend her. Remember gravel come from the absolute trenches and barely have food to eat, so seeing what seem to be well-off people has to set them off.

The twins in action finally!! Holy shit Cloverworks thank you!! Their coordination and tag team fighting style is amazing. The fact they ain’t let anyone touch a hair on Tsubakino as he walked up to gravel leader was so fire lol. Speaking of which, beating ass in heels is INSANE Tsubakino the icon you are.

Gravel leader got extra pissed off about Tsubakino wearing makeup, don’t think it’s a homophobia thing, more so just his anger at people having enough money to buy non essential things while his people are starving. I get that honestly, this is about more than just money now. It’s an ideological battle. Can’t wait for next episode.
@Marinate1016 She's running from the rich dude who payed for her to live more lavishly because he likely was either being mean towards her or some kind of perv. Either way, he was bad news and she wanted better for herself.

Finally a proper 1V1, another episode of heat actions goodness, animators went wild, i still don't care much about the melodrama and all the crying but the clash of ideas between tsubakino doing things he likes without caring about judgement while the other guy fights for survival was pretty interesting, legit tsubakino's the most badass character of the show rn.

edit: also i have to point out that Tsubakino's fighting style being more like a dance is such a cool concept when you think about it
@ropiel Tasuku's fighting style is similar to Hayato's when you put it that way, except that Tasuku is more aggressive.

I hate shit that make everything sound dramatic as it seems and proceed to write the corniest dialogues known to fiction. The writing is genuinely awful oh my god.

the formula is also dogshit, what happened last arc was just reskinned except the author can't shut up about tsubaki being gay
@Ronninn Firstly, the writing here is honestly AMAZING. It constantly pulls on your heartstrings with it being repetitive or boring.

Jesus fuck the AD and comp is so shit here it's not even funny.

And I thought the villans were corny and lame enough already last episode, but here come even cornier ones this episode along with yet another corny scene with that stupid ass "wHEn i..." song that they have spammed like six different times now.

Wouldn't even care about the above if the animation actually kept up, but god bro like there's ambition here, but the execution just isn't quite there.
@IzanaSolos I disagree. The animation amplifies what's going on and makes it even more amazing than it already is, especially with the growth of Haruka as a character, going from thirsting for battle to understanding what he fights for.

Just how stupid does this look? Shizuka runs away from some old fart only to casually entrust herself to a random guy who walks her straight into the red-light district and invites her to sing at his bar. Nothing suspicious at all.
@LessThanAnimeFan Nothing suspicious indeed. He didn't force her to do anything she didn't want to, and Kanji gave her the platform to do what she loves most. I don't see anything wrong with that.

I know that making it dramatic was necessary for the plot, like having Shizuka run away to get captured so that Kanji and the others wouldn't get hurt, but all this cheesy drama wasn't something I really enjoyed.

Where did the twins even come from? Like, seriously? They just appeared between Sakura and Shizuka out of nowhere. Still, I loved seeing them fight with their perfectly synchronized moves. But I didn't like how the few CGI NPCs were moving in a stance while they were standing beside that guy who’s their leader during the conversation.

I didn't expect Tsubakino to fight well in heels, but then again, he never moved much. That whole makeup talk, how it's his ideal self, how having a heart makes him stronger, and how the other guy can never defeat him... I don't see how any of that is relevant to the show or what kind of agenda it's starting to push. There are characters without hearts or feelings who are stronger than most, so having a heart or feelings is irrelevant in a fight. It all depends on the person, not on some fixed idea.

If it's just one character, it can work, but if more individuals like Tsubakino appear, then I fear the worst for the show.
@XArceusX I don't know what you're going on about.

The drama here is done very well. It's not drawn out, and it adds to the stakes of this fight. Not to mention Haruka's growth in this episode, building on his overall growth in this season.

About the characters with hearts, those who have strong hearts are stronger than the empty ones. That's why Hajime was able to beat Choji, because Choji abandoned who he is. In a fight, what matters is who backs down first. If you don't give up, you can't lose.

Shizuka is from the same hard-knock life as the rest of Gravel. But Kanji, Roppo Ichiza and her new life have had a positive impact on her. While she may be willing to give it up to protect those she's grown close with, they're most assuredly not willing to let her do that because they feel the same way.

Suzuri might be able to take a punch as Gravels leader, but with such a hollow goal and mindset. He's not at all prepared for Tsubaki to throw down with him!

Hey, did you guys know Tsubaki is one of the 4 Kings?!

Well he is, he's one of the 4 Kings!

Wait, did I tell you he's one of the 4 Kings?

No wonder he's strong, he's one of the 4 Kings!

You know... in case the audience is stupid, they have to repeat themselves just to make sure it sinks in.

Really don't care for this episode. Shizuka is so like every weak character that needs protection ever, her wanting to go with the bad guys is so dumb that I just lost interest in the story surrounding her.

I'm fine with this new "gang" not being all about beating their opponent; having a different way of achieving their goals but fml I just can not get behind characters that make such idiotic decisions, especially when it's portrayed as anything but.

The guy who was viewing everything as a game is also one of the least interesting bad guys thus far. I want a bad guy that is also somewhat cool despite clearly being in the wrong but he was just boring. Even the guy from KEEL was somewhat interesting.

My final gripe is Sakura being pulled away going "if only I was stronger" when he clearly IS stronger, could have kept fighting on but he was just told not to. It wasn't his lack of strength preventing that.

Overall, just too much ultimately pointless self-sacrifice in this episode for me.

Tsuba with the talk jutsu, This is giving demon slayer vibes, can a bad guy just be bad pleaseeeee
also what has makeup got to do with the fight, laying some agenda there but i like Tsuba and i hope he;s not just some one off, i haven't read the manga and please for the love of god, where is some villain shit character man. Loved the twins man
and this shizuka bitch, stay the fuck back please.. i knew she was going to do that from the way i saw her face and this villain/guy man he has no reason for doing anything, just whole lotta nothing, recycled bad guy, so annoying also Sakura are just staying back to give Tsuba chance to shine but it's so stupid, they could have made them fight one on one

So some information regarding why these gangs are going after Shizuka was finally revealed, and that is due to some old rich dude offering a bounty to whoever brings her back to him. I wonder if she had initially agreed to be with him but then ran away and ended up on the bench where Kanji found her, maybe more info will get revealed later.

Regarding the action, it was well done again and I'm looking forward to seeing how the fight with Tsubaki against the man bun guy leader turns out.
