First half was already good with more information about human combustion. But the second half was even better with Arthur's adventure xD

Finally! Finally I understand what a freaking Doppelganger is. Thanks for the much needed loredrop, creepy-looking Sister with amicable expression.

Second half was... enjoyable, to my surprise. Vulcan going the extra mile in order to help the always-delusional Arthur was particularly sweet.
And now it's Nether time. Because our knight can't read two consecutive sentences without losing himself in his fantasies -.-'

Prediction: Sister Sumire is probably connected to Raffles I, maybe his wife.

Let's see if this turns out to be true or not...

After so many years as an anime only watcher getting some info on the mystery of spontaneous combustion was awesome! And Granny Nun was creepier than she needed to be haha. Second half of the episode had me cracking up! I had just mined some Orichalcum in DQ11 a couple days ago (my first playthrough) the rpg tropes were so funny. Hyped for more Arthur next week!

The disturbing truth of the St. Raffles Convent, with Sister Sumire resurfacing at the church just as Hbana's reading forbidden material, she was the one who orchestrated the doppelganger experiments amidst her kind smile, which slowly created human-demon Infernals that had Adolla insects imbued with power. Yet, the smug excellence of Sumire playing her role as part of the Holy Sol Temple knowing the people whom she serves and have raised (lke Rekka), the truth of the Great Cataclysm was nothing more than awaiting 250 years for the right people to surface as Pillars for Earth's human combustion. Hibana being shown the demon Infernals as a "reward" for her observation skills, compared to Sumire's Ignition Power causing earthquakes and the like serving as the 7th Pillar, she's only tiding her time for the ultimate goal. Sumire's plot, plus the White Clad's plan to combust the Earth by recreating the Great Cataclysm, must now be stopped at all costs.

And then there's Arthur still sulking about his loss of his Excalibur, though Vulcan gives him a reason to with Yu's help to help him find the rare metal ore that is orichalcum...sure, for play pretend ridiculousness in Asakusa. Literally everything is made up just to get Arthur moving, and where will the pretend game take them to?

The Nether? Hell nah does Arthur realize what's he talking about...

So Sister Sumire has been using the orphaned girls as experiments to create Infernals using Doppelgangers, in which the insects act as pathways to connect the Doppelgangers to this world? What hasn’t been explained is how she is at least 250 years old and still kicking.

Apparently she’s the seventh pillar who is working with The White Clad to create a stronger Great Cataclysm powerful enough to turn the entire world into a sun.

Also, her Ignition ability is vibration, in which she has amplify the vibrations in her body in such a way that she creates earthquakes and cause massive damage to others. She will definitely be a threat in the future.

On the other side of things, Vulcan and the crew have to play dumb to inspire Arthur’s imagination in the process of creating a new Holy Sword, since Dragon destroyed Excalibur. However, the problem arises when Arthur misinteprets a figure of speech and believes they have to go into the Nether.

And the preview indicates that we might meet a family member of Arthur, so that’ll be interesting…

Sister Sumire has been up to no good for over 250 years. Her shivering being so strong that she causes earthquakes is too difficult for our heroes to deal with right now. But that's an Adolla Burst wielder for you!

In a different scenario, Hibana's childhood friends still being alive would be a good thing. It's so cruel that they've been suffering as infernals for all this time.

On the other side of things, Vulcan setting up a hero's journey so Arthur can get powered up was a fun idea. Arthur's delusions about going to the Nether as his next stop is a major turn for the worst!

Another really great episode. Hibana's anger at the realization of what's going on, the disturbing conclusion of what really happened at the convent; it was a powerful character moment for her. I had forgotten this old lady was actually a pillar. But if she's really over 250 years old, what is she, really?

The second half of the episode was a break from the creepiness, I love Arthur segments. And Vulcan is always such a bro.

The most effective way to uplift Arthur is to simply follow his imagination.

That's what happens when you fool around with a legend...the legend lives. haha Ah well, things get really screwy when you deal with Arthur. In any case, it'll now be a reall quest. hihi

Nice change of pace from the action past couple episodes. Crazy reveal that Sister Sumire is not only a pillar, but been alive for 250 years and seemed to have witnessed the Cataclysm. Also her being the puppet master behind the scenes and experimenting on God knows how many kids and having a connection to the Women in black was interesting af.

Unironically i feel like this ep was a massive lore drop no? Like the truth of the Adolla world having a 1:1 populace number to the current world, Human combustion being a result of people's inferno's on the other side melding together, the Great Cataclysm being a failed experiment as it didn't have enough power, man the build-up to know about the truth of Adolla actually has me so hyped rn.

Arthur's segment was funny, again a nice change of pace. Props to Vulcan and his crew for putting up with Arthur and going lengths to help him out, Arthur being to stupid for his own good and misinterpreting Vulcan's clue got a laugh out of me.

lol, man... I knew something was going to go wrong leading Arthur around like that. Good luck dissuading him from going into the Nether, Vulcan. That delusional guy is gonna have a proper adventure, perhaps. Makes me like Vulcan more too.

Oh yeah, all the lore stuff earlier on was pretty good too. For all the things I expected / had a feeling about in this show, I didn't actually expect that old nun was one of the pillars.

The biggest revelation that everyone has been waiting for since the 1st ep is finally here. And I gotta say it was a super satisfying one. Doppelgangers (The infernal couterparts which everyone has in the Adolla realm) randomly come into our world and tries to assimilate with their human selves which causes human combustion. I was wondering if that's case why didn't anyone see the doppelgangers. One explaination is that they combust spontenously as they enter our realm and into their human selves, Spontenous Human Combustion! Guess that's the white clad's goal to lit the whole place up. That nun was something alright. She had that "I'm gonna brutally murder y'all" look with the smiley face. She basically appears to be like an immortal god with the Adolla link and the fking power of earthquakes. Interesting explaination to her powers relating to heat and how they manage to fit it in somehow in general lol. Appears she's the final pillar so everyone is already in on stage I take it. So the first human cataclysm wasn't do to human combustion? If so what caused it really. It got dark pretty quick. Lil Infernal lads. I get FMA vibes with the doggie.

Interesting contrast between the 1st and 2nd half, showing the best and worst of the show and it's creator. The first half showed how good he is at creating a serious plot and narrative with quite some depth, something I also loved in Soul Eater. But then you have the 2nd half with following Arthur's silly fantasies. I actually liked it with it's retro video game aesthetic. Problem is it goes on for half the ep. The author loves doing the silly or annoying shinenigans which I'm not a huge fan of. Soul eater has it's on with it's Excaliber among other things.

But got to see a very hot Lisa so it gets a pass. Maybe she's the cause of the Human Combustions since everyone who shes her gets so turned on that they turn into flames, since she's smokin hot. *Badum tsk, jumps off the cliff*.
