So he's done already. He made some prep too. In order to tackle the church resistance I suppose. Two new inquisitors introduced and ofc it will be him training them. Things are gonna get rough for Badeni.

Ah yes, some people becomes priests because they want to get a job that feed them in a hard time, just to find out that church business is much more serious than they thought.

Badeni's version of eureka moment is quite intense.

Orb Episode 10, finally picking the show back up. Props to learning reading/ writing. The guy who self doubts more than anyone is going to write a book even. We push the boundaries of the olden days around here XD

He tires himself out with astronomy so much he's asleep in the morning 🙏 relatable mood.

Rip having to duel a guy that stole your work. A physical and emotional scar.

The astrology work seems to be coming along though. More time observing the movements of the sky with Oczy's bread rations keeping him going. You can see the gears turning in their heads as they reach the "truth".

A fitting title for this episode to head towards.

I did not expect the heliocentric theory to be completed so soon into the series, that's exciting!

This episode was good! I enjoyed Oczy's progression with literacy, as well as the charitable side of him we got to see. Also, seeing him clash with Badeni (or rather, seeing the latter clash with him) was fun! Of course everyone at the church would be scared of Badeni! xD

The beginning of the episode demonstrated what Oczy’s role in all of this will end up being. Badeni is really smart and can prove a heliocentric model, but he can’t explain it simply enough for normies to understand. This is a huge problem since it is ultimately normies who decide what is and isn’t right. Oczy may be able to make heliocentrism relatable to the masses. And while I understand Badeni’s point about commoners learning to read will mean misinformation spreading, it’s baffling how he hasn’t already realized how much misinformation exists without commoners being able to read. Keeping commoners dumb makes them easier to manipulate, and I hope this idea gets explored in the future. (8.5/10)

Piast may be gone, but his research lives on through the hands of Oczy and Badeni, which the former received some lessons from Jolenta to read and write, and more importantly document their findings like a diary. Of course, Badeni questioning why there is the need for Oczy to do this, and if word gets out, he'd put both men in danger. Furthermore, for a person with qualification to study things as it is, Bedeni, as a church official, is on the cusp of two extremes learning pagan stuff and leaning to the Holy Scripture. Of course, if the Church gets wind of Badeni's conduct, that would be disastrous as he needs total concentration.

Badeni putting his brain to full use understanding more of the cosmos, and then having his rather intense Eureka moment with the movement of Mars, with more knowledge comes strength, and he has completed the heliocentric theory after quite some time. At the same time, new Inquisitors being inducted into the Church to save people from becoming heretics, this is just plain wrong teaching from the Bishop to train new young'uns, the world slowly becomes more toxic at this rate.

Nowak has returned, what will he do?

@Twintail_Daemon its astronomy, not astrology. They are different. Astrology is pseudoscience. Its related to predicting human behavior based on the position of celestial object. What Badeni did in this episode is astronomy, he is correctiing the orbit of the planet that revolve around the sun using the data he get from count piast. The data doesnt match with his initial assumption of the orbit being a circle. Then when he looks at the necklace, he realized that a 'circle' can also be made by two focal points, in this case an ellipse. Then he revised his theory and it finally matches with the data.

Badeni finally managed to complete the heliocentric model, but only with Oczy’s help. You know, Badeni is delusional about the idea that God choose him for this 'divine mission' of uncovering the truth, believing everything was set up just for him, that I’m sure he won’t give Oczy any credit.

I’m also curious about what he’s planning to do with the beggars. And now that Nowak is back, it might be over for our guys.

It's the second time I hear a fictional character talking fast about rainbows, I wonder if there's a meme about that I don't know about or just a coincidence.

It looks like Oczy has started to write his dairy and by reading it, Badeni has found a new perspective to loot at thing for the completion of heliocentric theory.

Jolenta is busy due to Piast death.

That last section with priest talking to young inquisitors is a perfect example of brainwashing.
Sounds sweet on surface, but it is aiming for something sinister.

I'm really curious what Oczy wrote in his book and why was it so important that Badeni decided to change his approach towards him and the beggars. Still waiting for Jolanta to play a more significant role, which she deserves.

Nowak has returned and it means trouble.

Interesting episode regarding the characters development after what happened in the previous one, Oczy's character is more and more interesting as he's working on himself (while still being generous with the poor ones) and trying to write a story about all of what happened to them.

Badeni really killed his friend during a duel back then? wow... anyway he said he solved the heliocentrism problem so I'm VERY interested in what he'll say next, meanwhile he's working under so much stress that he can't keep throwing up.

And now the church is forming more and more inquisitors under Nowak's supervision, this is concerning.

Wonder what he read in Oczy's diary for him to change his mind. If the book that the priest found was Count Piast's diary, Badeni, Oczy, and maybe Jolenta would be in danger.

This is my least favorite episode so far.
I can't really explain why, but I'm getting less and less interested in this anime.
This one in particular was more boring than usual, as Jolenta is missing and Oczy is mostly in the background.
There is still a moment I love in this episode, the first scene in the barn!
"It's a good thing that most people can't read or write. [...] Leaving words behind is a heavy responsibility. [...] If the written word was available to everyone, unreliable information would flood the world. It would be a dire situation indeed."
You can't deny it, he does make a good point. That's basically what's happening with the Internet in the present day!
@gorkthe134th I can totally see why you're getting less and less interested in it. I was thinking just the same as you. The first 3 episodes of this anime was top tier but as soon as we got the new protagonists like Badeni and Oczy it made the series way less interesting and even boring at times. They're both really soulless characters and don't really contribue anything interesting so far. Really a shame, I had such expectations of this series after the strong opening that it had.. Rafal was a strong lead and interesting unlike the other two.

@Julle I would argue Oczy is kind of an interesting character, as he has a big responsibility but doesn't have the knowledge to fulfill it.
As for Badeni though, I completely agree I just hate him. And unfortunately,

@Julle It's not a major spoiler. It's more of a hint really. So you can look at it if you want.
I know that some people take these things pretty seriously (including myself), so I prefer being on the safe side.
