i very like this anime romcom. just this time, I'm really looking forward to all the episodes every week. a light anime romcom, not too much conflict, but enough to make me happy to watch it. and made me believe that love does not see age. and be careful because "hate can become love" LOL.. plus the op and ed songs are very pleasant to hear, I never skip it.. overall I give 10/10,, anyway I like light anime romcoms .

Koikimo has finally come to a close with a heartfelt ending with Ichika finally confessing to Ryou and Ryou accepted her confession and told her that he would be by her side until she becomes and adult which is sooner rather than later. What I liked about this rom-com was that it was very straight forward without beating around the bush most of the time. I'm going to miss hearing the OP and ED on Mondays. My only issue was that they never fixed the mics for some of the VA's and I had to turn up the volume every time I watch Koikimo.

I give Koikimo a 7/10.

Won't lie Kinda glad it's over honestly. Wouldn't call it bad, as I did love the artstyle, and character designs. But by later stages, it did feel as if it dragged on a bit. Felt more of a chore to watch it by the end.

Didn't regret watching it. The last episode is great as it gives a proper closure for anime-only watchers.

Despite it having a pretty generic outcome, I'm still thankful that the entire series was able to present what it was supposed to show. Also, this is one of those few series that was able to show a confession scene partnered with an actual kissing scene, so plus points for that.

Plot: 5
Character: 8
Soundtrack: 10
Enjoyment:7
Overall: (5+8+10+7)/4 = 7.5 ~ 8/10

Manga ended exactly the way the anime did. Same monologue from Ichika.

It wasn't very long (55 chapters + 4-part finale) so the anime covered basically everything.

Not gonna lie and this is pretty much my generosity speaking, It was a really decent show. It does help for me that we've gotten a solid conclusion, with a confession and a kiss. Which from the episode title, I didn't actually expect the latter to happen

Overall, a very generous 7/10. Production quality was a bit so so, especially in the sound department, but I can appreciate a wholesome romance story with solid conclusion.

It was alright.

The most interesting stuff, though, was all the drama about this show. It made me get more involved in it that I would be otherwise and ended up crying on the last episode.

It's a weird feeling, when something gets so much undeserved hate and you end up liking it more because of that. Normally I would have been like "Meh, another love comedy".

Finally this kimochi warui show end. I shall be honest to myself, so here's my final thought, no matter how shit anyone else thinking:

A no-surprise ending, indeed, which is extremely predictable for this kind of show. I know the show really about them. But, here, another reason for me that the drama around the ending (not just around it, sometimes, honestly) are also very lame. Why you feel that way when you literally groomed high schooler 24/7 11 episodes before? Even those side character recognized it as a lame shit. People who's like that must be very lame too.

Anyway, thats it. The sounds system on some cases were so bad until idk how should i respond properly about that. The oped surprisingly very good, and thats the only good thing about this one. HanaKana can't be a factor to lifted up all of my bad things about the show. Because the storyline is so mediocre. The kiss was also so dissapointing. Then, once again, the whole drama are absolutely lame. Idk what should i react rather than, man, i wish i never pick this up. But, here i am, already finishing this all by myself. So, yeah, its good everything comes to an end.

Thats it all for me, and, moving on....

This conclusion was predictable, in a good way - It didn't go for any sort of debased, deprived, shock factor to what is considered already a "wholesome" romance. That kiss though, was basically the most exciting thing to happen in 12 episodes. The "wait for me to become an adult" theme has been used in countless romance anime (I remember the first manga/anime I encountered this was in Kare Kano), and I do feel it was appropriate for use in this story, because it really marks the significance of Ryo's transformation from womanizer (nice flashback to first episode), to someone who learns how to cherish a woman enough to wait.

Though sometimes the pacing really got weird, it was a relief to see at the end that this 10 year gap relationship yielded the following results:

  • an adult man who "grew up" to be a better person, learned how to respect women (regardless of how many people hate his initial "creep" factor, they basically explained that he's actually quite awkward when he's being genuine), somewhat started to repair his strained relationship with his dad by becoming more responsible for his actions, and became an older brother that can be looked up to.

  • a girl who was able to navigate through complicated feelings, improve her studies, and take definitive steps towards her future, both from a romantic and professional perspective.

  • family and friends, who support them 100% of the way, because they understand the relationship is beyond any ill intent, and saw/experienced the positive changes in their loved one.

Although this was the 2nd most anticipated anime on my watch list this season, I gave it an overall 7/10.

  • Art (7/10) was good (cept I still laugh at that one frame in the school festival episode where Ryo caught Ichika falling...and his eyes go wonky).
  • Many already complained about the sound quality (5/10); it could've been done better but it was not enough to deter me
  • The story for me was closer to 9/10. It was refreshing, and despite using some popular romantic troupes, the story itself was pretty original.
  • The comedy (5/10) was basically front loaded in the series, and the funny turned dramatic past the halfway mark; I would've liked to see the comedy factor extend all the way through the end.

I was looking for a pure-type romance that didn't have the gimmicks of sexual tension, as sort of a breath of fresh air, and this fit the bill regardless of what other people project in their rantings.

Speaking of rant, here's mine, I put it at the bottom after my review of the final episode/series :P

I enjoyed how this episode basically explained why this relationship isn't the sick, perversion that haters have been spewing all over the place. And for an anime that averages a completed score over 7.2, I'm finally realizing that most people fairly enjoyed the series, compared to the handful of overbearing internet warriors with loud mouthpieces who either only watched the first 2 episodes, or as someone else eloquently put, simply do not understand the meaning of sexual deviance terminology. But someone else said it best; they're simply misusing, or do not understand the meaning of the words. I still can't even understand why someone would use terminology like Stockholm syndrome and pedophilia even after watching this final episode.

Because "creepy" somehow turned into "love"

And haha, love it, I had to laugh that they used this statement to close the episode. It was almost like a final F U to people continuing to mislabel the premise of the story.

When Ryou's mom said to the dad, "He's just like you", it made me wonder if the parents have an age gap that's similar to the one between Ryou and Ichika.

Does the manga go past the anime and we get to see them do things as a couple?

Predictable but satisfying conclusion this one. I enjoyed every moment of this anime. It was lighthearted, pretty funny (mainly in the first half of the season), and had some decent characters. The soundtrack was excellent and soothing. It fit the spirit of the show very well.

It's a bit disheartening how much people rage at the premise, when in essence it's pretty pure. I believe the creators handled it very effectively without being overly controversial.

It's somewhere around a 7.5 for me, so I am torn between a 7/10 and an 8/10. But yeah, a good one overall.

Did anyone else just completely lose suspension of belief when Ichika’s mom pretty much encouraged her high school daughter to date a 29 year old? I dunno, just seems super irresponsible for a parent to not even give off any red flags.

Best episode of koikimo by a country mile, last week I was gonna put koikimo down as a 6/10 you know just a nice, cute and comfy romance but this ep might bump it up to a 7.

It addressed all my problems with the series like ryo not being mature for most of the series, ichika not showing any assertion and we got some real emotion out of Rio and the parents of both sides were brought into the mix. They handled the age gap well no problems there. I have to say that koikimo has grown during 12eps, I almost dropped it after ep 1.

On the other hand higehiro has gone down imo but I think I would rate it higher than koikimo just because it was more interesting and it had characters like asami while koikimo only had mutsushima

Ryou is 27 years old ahah And BTW, Ichika is 17 years old, so she isn't a child... There are a lot of girls who have sex with someone older than them in my country at this age, we are not in 1800 anymore... I would agree with you if Ichika was 13-14-15 years old... In my country (and in many other countries too), you become adult at 18 years old, so...

Aaah, it's finally finished! The ending was quite mediocre, but I like how in the end Ichika really realized her feelings for Ryo and told Ryo the truth, I'm sure it took a lot of courage. I was quite satisfied when I saw Ichika slapping Ryo, because honestly as long as I saw him stay away from Ichika, I wanted to slap him too!! though I wish Ichika had slapped him harder so Ryo would really realize that what he did was totally irresponsible, lol. But who would have thought that Ryo would respond to Ichika's confession with that unexpected kiss?!! I really didn't expect it at all, I was surprised but I like it, hahaha.

Really good ending! The drama was well done and it was resolved so maturely, though it did feel a little rushed, I think 1 more episode would have been nice to spread it out more. I kinda related to Ryo there when he was distancing himself, the feeling that it would be better for her if I wasn't around. And as we saw, that's definitely not the right action. The confession was fucking great and that kiss.

I am satisfied with the ending but at the same time it would have been nice to see a little bit of them in the future. Definitely gonna miss the OP and ED though, absolute bangers. 7.5/10 ~ 8/10.

After having watched and read the Quintuplet sisters, I only wanted to watch more harem shows. This one caught my attention, as Higehiro. Unfortunately, the pair I wanted didn't happen so my interest was dead on episode 8. I mean, the outcome was set in stone since the first episode, so I can't really complain that Tamaru lost fair and square.

Good ending, made me smile plenty of times. Also, I am glad I wasn't the only one complaining about the sound direction in this show. These microphones sounded way distant. Arriety and Tamaru were my favorites, they clearly deserved better.

6/10

Maybe because:

  • She herself is in a gap relationship as revealed on this episode
  • the fact that she has met Ryo, and knows he is a good person
  • by the last episode, she sees all the positive influences the relationship had on her daughter.

My Asian mother would've loved to set me up with a successful working man like Ryo regardless of that 10 year gap if she knew I would be well supported the rest of my adult life lol. It's a cultural thing.

The ending felt rather unsatisfying to me. Maybe cause some plot points were just left as they are and the resolution of Ichika's and Ryo's age-gap issue was just them saying to each other not to mind it and to resolve themselves to have the confidence to show-off their relationship as couples to others despite the age-gap.

Another would just be how Ryo and his father never managed to properly talk and make up after his father found out that Ryo had changed for the better and is treating his relationship with Ichika seriously.

I had thought the manga would continue past the anime and the anime ending was an original to give an end to anime-only viewers but from the comments above, that seems to not be the case...

Maybe it would have been better if there was at least a timeskip to their wedding at the end.

Can't believe it's over lol. The show was bad but still enjoyable enough!

The confession scene was too unnecessarily dramatic and I couldn't help but laugh, and it felt a bit anti climatic for some reason. I could point out flaws in their relationship for a long time but I guess it's time to finally rest. The show didn't turn out as BAD as it actually was in the first three episodes.
Thankfully Ryou was conscious about how terrible he actually is and also regarding issues surrounding huge age gap romances, although he still acts however he pleases around Ichika.

The op/ed will be missed. Definitely one of the best for this season and the main reason why I looked forward to the new episodes every week.

It's finally over, yes this anime is the one I've watched this season

From the start, I liked this anime, because of the comedy, but as the episodes went on, the story was more serious, I quite liked it, what I didn't like was the art style of the anime, which was lacking in my opinion.

It finally ended. Ah, there's that empty feeling I get when a series that I liked ends like that. Yes, it wasn't anything special, but it was quite satisfying tbh. It ended exactly how I wanted, so I can't ask for more, even though more is always welcomed.

The fact that they kissed made this 10 times better, showing that they both love eachother and will most likely live happily ever after. And before anyone comes in and says "everyone kisses and they still break up", I'm judging it by the way they behave with eachother, not only because they kissed.

The last scenes were cute as well. This anime is nothing special on paper, it has all the genres of an average romantic series.
But the staff that worked on this, and the voice actors, all made it feel different than most romantic animes out there. At least for me. I can't quite explain it completely, but I'm really tired of characters screaming in my ears and getting mad at eachother for the simplest of things and then get togheter again, and then get mad again or simply hate eachother but somehow end up liking the idea of being togheter, etc. I really missed having an anime with a cool/calm vibe with a little drama and a romantic story that actually kinda relates to real life as well. And that's what I got.

It kinda feels wrong that it ended, but it was a nice trip nonetheless :)
