Inuyasha, definitely lol. Team Kikyo, team Kagome, nonsense ships (also ship wars), unlimited theories, "who is sesshomaru's wife?" And that one fan who always ask "when are they going to release the new episode of Hanyo no Yashahime?" |

Kurokawa: Actually, I received a letter about half a year into the broadcast, I'm guessing from a man. Wondering what it could be, I opened it and inside found a razorblade and a letter. Twice I received the same thing. Twice? Probably both from the same person. The letter said "Stop bullying Sara!" I was pretty shocked, but I figured, hey, at least there's a strong reaction. (laughs) People laughed and said it was a sign of the show's popularity. ha ha ha, what am I reading? incredible. well, lwt's laugh it off too. |

From my personal experience it's Hunter X Hunter fandom because in the past some of them actually made hateful comments in my profile asking why I gave HxH (2011) a 9 instead of a perfect 10 score. They just want to de-throne FMAB from the #1 spot. |

The fate fanbase. You can't criticize any animated shows from the franchise unless you know the entirety of fate lore. You have to watch,/play 50 VNs,300 LNs,800 games and know all 9000 FGO gacha characters. That's only when your opinion will be considered.Man I just said Fate animated verse is riddled with mediocrities and I was put in my place for knowing nothing about fate lore. Also don't forget the kids with Gilgamesh dps. They think that Gilgamesh can oneshot Goku with his Enuma Elish and also it's cool to pick on 15y/o. These are the guys who don't take pride in their franchise they take pride in how deep their lore is. |

I'd say the MHA fanbase and the JoJo fanbase. And maybe the SAO fans, both those who say it's an 11/10 and those who say it's hot garbage. They both are about equally toxic imo. |

As a former JoJofag, I can admit that JoJo's fanbase is the worst I have encountered. the main reason I hate them are the saturated fan comments on 80's songs, saying things like "Is this song a JoJo's reference ?", boy I just want to listen some 80's songs and read positive comments about the singer/band not a bunch of kids saying JoJo stuffs! |

Based on forum experience and Youtube experience (reading over 10,000 comments) Jojo's fans, hands down, no contest, without question, are by far the most toxic and annoying fanbase. Just full of hate and anger plus they are extremely annoying. Its absolutely the worst fanbase I've seen in watching anime since like the 90s. I think their biggest problem is just a lack of common sense and unwilling to listen to anything outside of their own bubble. Tokyo Ghoul fans whine and complain ENDLESSLY but they aren't as toxic. Fate and HunterXHunter are kinda similar but I don't see the same level of raw anger and hatred you see from the Jojo's fanbase, holy shit lol Haven't encountered much of MHA fanbase so I can't say, I have friends that watch it and they all seem fine. As a side note, Hellsing and true Berserk fans are the coolest. By true Berserk fan, I mean someone who reads the manga. A couple are understandably bitter, but they're still nice even if you disagree with them. |

Can't pinpoint one but the most toxic fanbases imo are: MHA fanbase- shippers, fans sending death threats, being attacked for giving any little criticism. I feel bad for Horikoshi and the amount of death threats he has gotten. Jojo's- Weird. They always saying the same 5 jokes thinking it's funny and saying is that a Jojo's reference is apparently peak comedy to them. Can't take criticism and bash anyone who doesn't like it. Anytime I say online that I don't like parts 1- 3 of Jojo's hundreds of jojotards swarm me. Hunter x Hunter- Think that they're favorite anime is perfect and constantly talk down to people that dislike it. Mainstream Battle Shounen- Consider this as it's own fanbase. Majority of fans of anime like dragon ball and naruto haven't watched any other anime in their lives and think anything they watch is perfect. They call a series bad if it doesn't have a strong protagonist or has fighting. Demon Slayer- Divided into overraters and overhaters. One half of the fandom sucks Demon Slayer's penis like it's peak literature and won't accept any form of criticism. Alot of them are just riding the trend to watch Demon Slayer though. The other half are the people that hate it unnecessarily are mostly normies who want to appear like elitists. Attack on Titan- Good show, shit fanbase. They think AOT is the magnus opus of literature and they're all treating season 4 like the second coming of jesus christ. AOT is really good but still has a lot of issues that the fans all ignore and when you point out an issue, ni matter how small, you get attacked for having "bad taste" Re: Zero- Majority of fans are quick to say that anyone who doesn't like it doesn't understand it. Like Rezero is a good show but the fanbase constantly gets more and more toxic. Other fanbases that I can think of that used to be toxic but died down are NGE and Darling in the Franxx. One up and coming fanbase that will most likely end up as toxic as demon slayer is jujutsu kaisen. Despite being solid whereas demon slayer is just bad, a lot of new fans are jumping on the train and sucking it's dick just because of good visuals. They're already calling it anime of the year despite it not being halfway done and just an average battle shounen right now. |

The funny thing is I can literally copy and paste my post from the "pretentious fanbase" thread and convey the exact same thing yet still be equally as valid. _henri said: First off, the OP did quite the malicious thing by saying "pretentious toxic fanbase" which was simply a way to stoke tribalism among those who are prone to get offended by other people's opinions. With that said, the very premise of this thread is wrong. It isn't what anime's fanbase is pretentious toxic, it's those in the overall anime fanbase who are pretentious toxic. This is an important distinction because literally every fucking anime fanbase has it's group of pretentious toxic individuals. Those who claim to have "refined taste" and ram their opinions down everyone's throats act like an asshole thinking they're hot shit. It doesn't matter if they like MHA or the Monogatari Series, because those type of people will champion either of those shows and act toxic regardless. Now there is nothing wrong with stating your opinion about something in a reasonable and civil manner, but pretentious being toxic is what shitbags do. Anyways, we all watch cartoons, so it isn't really worth degrading a certain fanbase for no reason than just the fact that you didn't like that cartoon. Don't act like a child. |

Dragon Ball Z. I'm a huge fan of the entire DB series, however DBZ fanboiz are the worst and criticize their so called favorite anime due to their blind nostalgia. Basically those will say DBS is "bad" while ignoring the fact that DBZ had all the same writing flaws that Super had. But since DBZ is an older anime that they watched as children, they are biased. And every time I point this out, some touchy DBZ-tard instant transmissions out of the wood work to say "nuh-uh!!!" |

I'm gonna go with MHA, Demon Slayer and FMA: B. MHA is self explanatory(if you don't know, they sent death threats to the author over Endeavour's redemption arc). The demon slayer fandom is more annoying than toxic tbh. They act like it is some sort of masterpiece and call other anime trash. And the only thing they say to support their claim is to watch episode 19. Like, that's one episode, not the entire series(the arc episode 19 was in was good tho imo). Then there's the FMA:B fanbase. I'm specifically referring to the MAL FMA:B fanbase. They literally downvote everything that gets close to #1. Gintama°(season 4) is the biggest victim of this. It shows more people have watched it than season 2. That's how many people have downvoted it. |

BnHA. I sympathize with people saying Jojo, but I don't think it's really the same kind of toxic. They lean towards obnoxious, forceful, and overbearing to a very cringey extent, but I've never heard or seen them legit *harassing* people or trying to attack them for slightly stepping out of goosestep. They're just fucking annoying about their series and try to shove it down everybody's throats, even after being told "no, I don't want to fucking watch it" multiple times, like my friend Dekn experienced with some of the Jojo fans in H&E a while back. Please stop trying to make everyone watch your fucking series, and please stop trying to awkwardly force it into unrelated conversations. Once stuff like that stops being such prominent behaviors with Jojo fans, then we cool. I went into a fanfic server one time that had a few vocal BnHA fans, and likewise got verbally assaulted because somebody disapproved of a joke I made. "Who is my favorite character?" "Is it Mineta?" commence the backlash. Utterly ridiculous, and that just ends up piling on top of all the hearsay about how that fandom can act and other stories people have. I don't know what specifically about that show has created that kind of environment where those behaviors can become something I just bump into in neutral spaces, but I think it's there to a troublesome extent, for sure. |

honestly I've not really ran into any toxic BnHA fans. (judging from the complaint's it sounds like it's just the overly obsessive Fujoshi's at it again. they did the same thing with Sereph of the end. which is why i usually avoid ship wars in the first place.) Shingeki no Kyojin probably to be honest just something I've picked up on lately they seem to be getting kinda full of themselves lately kinda reminds me of how the LOGH fan base use to act. before they got humble pie in the form of that LOGH remake. |

I don't like either BnH fanbase, but this is about the most toxic fanbase not the most disgusting one, even tho I have my own disgusting ships in some animes I don't spread or force them in others. Yet saying that a fandom is toxic purely for the fact that they have "shipwars" is completly wrong, the same goes for "they have ships that I don't like, therefore the fandom is toxic". Not defending the BnH fandom, but it is wrong to call it toxic for the ships, if you are calling it toxic because of the dead-threads then that's right, even tho a lot of other fandoms have also sent a lot of dead-threads. I'll go with Jojo's or Hunter x Hunter's. Oh, and don't forget the Dragon Ball fandom. |

The Boku no Hero Academia as well as Fairy tail have a toxic part of their fanbase, but putting the whole fanbases in the same box is pretty inaccurate, because BnH e.g. has a very lit fandom otherwise, the toxic part doesn't outshine that, but every fanbase has a lite toxic community in it, no cap . Anyways in the toxic parts of these communities if you criticize their ship or boy x boy ship then you've basically put a target on your back. Didn't some My hero Academia fans threaten the creator about making one of their boy x boy non-canon ship true in the manga? The creator took a break or something after that.... The show isn't even about romance! Let alone Deku x Bakugou or Deku x Todoroki, lmao they all tripping! Some Fairy tail fans be overanalyzing the show. Like if Natsu gave Lucy a fist-bump they would be like "OTP" , "OMG He's so in love with her!", "NaLu otp, the rest of you are just jealous!" And if you didn't agree with some of them they would flip! No, love, the rest of us are just trying to enjoy the show without you shoving your romance or delusional ships down their throats, but go off I guess... I'm not saying shipping is bad because I do that too, there's nothing wrong with that until the ships start turning into straight court material.... For me like it doesn't matter what gender the characters are whatsoever when shipping but it aint none of that Gon x Hisoka shit, that's just straight pedophilia. That ship takes the whole cake if we are talking about crossing the line here and being toxic... |

I actually do agree that the AoT fanbase is pretty cancerous this season. I'm pretty much among them myself, and I do find many factors annoying about them. Namely, excessive spoilering, arguing about studios, nit-picking, etc. The good side of the fandom is pretty fun, but the dark side is pretty bad. |
