It depends on the series. If the anime didnt finished the story i often read the manga or if i liked a anime that much i sometimes read the manga too ^^

I get pretty hardcore into a series if I really like it. I won't just watch/read something because it is in that series though, because that doesn't necessarily mean it's good.

It's a case by case basis for me. I'm not compelled to read a manga of an anime series unless I really enjoyed it and know that the manga is different. There are a few cases where I'm interested in reading the manga because I want to experience the story, characters, etc. again, but generally, I've already decided whether the manga or anime are right for me.

Most of the anime I watch or manga I read doesn't have a huge stories franchise behind it. The only major exceptions for me are Gundam and maybe Evangelion. I'm ok with not playing every game, reading every single manga, etc. but I do tend to be more interested in some of the source material if it's a new story or one that has not really been adapted (ex: various Gundam manga, manga that intentionally retells and alters the Evangelion story, etc.)

I thought I was the dig-deep type, but looking back on things, the only anime I've done it for is Kaguya-sama. More so just generally aware that there is source material or spin-offs

It really depends on each series. I would have said the Science Adventure series, but thinking back on it, I originally tried to play the S;G visual novel, but due to my laptop failing to run it I ended up watching the anime. Then from there I found out about the rest of the series, enjoyed the hell out of the Chaos; games even more than S;G (and shit on their anime adaptations), and stuff.
Aside from that, the Oregairu LNs, and I'm about to get into the Monogatari LNs, because of its anime.

If I love it then I'll go all in. And if I really love it, then that includes being a part of the typical fandom procedure: exploring character analysis, reading fan theories, discovering lost interviews, diving into fanart.

It's When They Cry & Yu-Gi-Oh for me.
