When I said forgiven, I was talking about Danpei cheating on the scales, Joe isn't the one who was supposed to be forgiven, Danpei was the one who should be forgiven. What were you even on about? Honestly, Joe never even did anything to be asking for forgiveness. He was always straight, he never deceived, he never acted out of line except when he beat up that kid during the boxing test. Everyone like him because how simple he was yet how strong he was, how dedicated he was. That fight was important to him, Kim and his coach openly challenged them, why would he not go for it? It's a big step to what they wanted. Since when did I say fighting is the reason why he boxed. He boxed to reach the top, to be the champion, to beat Mendoza, for him, Rikiishi and Carlos. So, what's your point about him wanting to fight again? Yes, he goes out to fight other boxers in other gyms cause he wants to get attention and fight the guy he wanted to fight at the gym. Isn't that how it normally goes in a gym setting? Challenge others? Lmao, he did go to other gyms because no one wanted to fight Joe and Tange was having a rough time finding opponents. And guess what? Joe solved that problem because of his ruckus. Brute force can do wonders when your enemy is trying to hide for their pride. His meaning in his life? He had no meaning in his life before, then he met Rikiishi. He wanted to fight to beat Rikiishi, but he losed. He wanted a rematch of course, but you know what happened. Both of them wanted to reach the top of the boxing world, since Rikiishi biting the dust, he wants to uphold his name for their sake. Never had a dream of grandeur? Such a sad life my friend. Boxing is a sport, but you have to understand that this sport always had other sides of it, people who does the dirty work. This was the time when boxing was big in sport history. It is a gritty take on the boxing genre. You want a more light-hearted and comedic take on boxing? Then watch Ippo. Ass to everybody? He acted a friend to everyone, Sachi and her friends? Goddamn I want an energetic boxer playing with me when I was a kid. Carlos? He practically saved him in a sense, finding what he wanted. Nishi? My boy was the best man in his wedding? Tange? He followed him to be a boxer, sure, there are fights along the way, but it is normal to have arguments with their friends. Wolf? He let him go off the hook when Wolf scammed Joe, if that was the old Joe, he would beat him up senseless, but he didn't, no? Tell me, who was he an ass to? People he didn't know? So what? Are you saying the people he beat up? Again, so what, he doesn't know them. He is a selfish guy, but in the end, he managed to pull out and get a boxing match to get out from their circumstances. Joe literally saved their ass when he goes to a gym and beat people. He didn't go there because he wanted to solely beat them, he wanted to bring attention to them so they can't avoid Joe anymore. I don't know how people can miss that. You should understand that because Joe is a wrecking machine is literally the face of the drama. He was on a highway to his demise, it was so obvious. He believed in what he wanted, what is wrong with that? What is wrong with selfish people? I never got that. It's annoying. Being selfish, having our desires, what is wrong with that? We are human beings, one of the most significant trait to being a human is having his beliefs and desires. I've been so annoyed by people who uses "Oh, he is so arrogant, oh, he is selfish" complaint every time. Tell me, have you ever wanted something in your life that you wanted to risk it all? If not, you would not understand Joe. I understand him because I have something in my life that I desire the most, something I fear that I won't achieve. I don't want to conform to society and accept my mediocre and jaded life. Joe was a huge fire, and became a beautiful ash, shading what a man truly is. I really want to add for my own personal rant, I am irritated by people who says being selfish is a bad thing. Whoever said it was? Your mother? The society who made you abide what they want? Tell me, if your family is starving, you don't have any money, you want to save them for your selfish goal, are you not going to steal from others? Temptation? No?
