I love beautiful backgrounds. Here's some where I wish I could jump into the scene.
Kotonoha no Niwa
Doukyuusei
Mushishi
Aria
Mahoutsukai no Yome
Amanchu
Hotarubi no Mori e

And pretty much everything from KyoAni and Ghibli

*Edit* I can't believe I forgot to mention 3 gatsu no lion. It's one of the most calming and aesthetically pleasing anime I've ever seen.

Any high-budget cel animation movie from the 80s and 90s pretty much. Akira, Venus Wars, Beautiful Dreamer, Sirius no Densetsu, Yousei Florence, DYRL etc... Not to forget Ghibli of course.

Not that there aren't amazing looking movies in modern days like Redline or Kaguyahime or Jin-Roh but personally I just prefer the hand-drawn cel animation aesthetic a bit.
I probably regret this post by now.

I cannot exactly decide on one, Redline, Akira, Re;Cutey Honey, Kill la Kill, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Diebuster, Tatami Galaxy, this one is gonna trigger some: Ping Pong the Animation.

But if I had to choose one... Ehhhhh, I think might go with Redline.

+1 on all of those (that i've seen idk about the other ones)
also monogatari, flcl, space dandy, GiTS 95, & K-on

For me, an anime doesn't necessarily need to have the best animation as long as the setting is gorgeous. Aria's Neo-Venezia is much more pleasing to look at than Fate/Zero & UBW, for example, despite it being older.

I'll be the first to mention Non Non Biyori. It has the most beautiful scenery I've seen in anime so far. This is why I prefer rural settings, they usually have much better atmosphere:

I will list some anime which i considered to be very pleasing, visual wise:

No Game No Life: Zero (Just look as the freaking picture)

The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya (The lightning effect in this movie is the BEST i've seen. Period.)

The Monogatari seri (Just for the intriguing style, it's an amv, so there's edit, but still)

RedLine (Every single Frame is hand draw, it took like 7 years to make)

Katanagatari (not the highest budget, but very unique art style)

Kara no Kyoukai (Ufotable, what can i say)
i personally think that Kara no Kyoukai is their best animated anime

Ghibli, because Ghibli

and so much more

Last time I got the a e s t h e t i c feel was when I was watching ACCA: 13-ku kansatsu-ka.
Madhouse doing God's work there. The combination of cool artstyle, bakeries porn, and the chill music is pure awesome.

The other ones maybe KyoAni and Ufotable's works.

Do you guys really find Redline visually "pleasing"? That film is definitely one (if not the) most impressive productions in existence, but it has soo much going on that I actually found it visually assaulting most of the time. The color scheme is particularly hard on the eyes. Dunno.

Anyway, Hyouka. Hyouka is by far the most gorgeous anime I've ever gazed upon. It's actually ridiculous that that show exists at all, and as a 22 episodes TV production on top of that. Like what the fuck.

Hyouka is life. It's my all time favourite anime, so I'm kind of biased, but I also think it's the most visually pleasing TV anime ever made.

Nah, forget about biases. It only takes a cursory glance at the School Festival Arc to see how horrifyingly alive everything feels and realize that not only does Hyouka blow every other TV anime out of the water, but also puts a good number of movies to shame. That show is an incredible thing.

I'm actually looking for a school festival more lively than that of Hyouka, since I watched it. I haven't seen one ever since, that's for sure.

And not to talk about the beautiful:

P much everyone has said it already but anything by KyoAni (esp Euphonium, Koe no Katachi) and Shinkai movies (Garden of Words easily has the most gorgeous aesthetic from any show I've watched).

I'd also like to throw in Rakugo. Like the there wasn't much actual movement in that show but the still shots were so pretty. Same case with 3-gatsu no Lion and Mononoke.

This glorious signature image was created by @Mayumi!

I am the Arbiter of Absolute Truth, and here is my wisdom:

"Anime was always influenced by the West. This is not news.
Shoujo is the superior genre primarily aimed at young people.
Harem/isekai are lazy genres that refuse any meaningful innovation.
There is no 'Golden Age.' There will always be top-shelf anime.
You should be watching Carole & Tuesday."

Most of the shows from P.A. Works, since I absolutelly love their character desings and their background animation is one of the best in industry. Nagi no Asukara, Hanasaku Iroha, Angel Beats! for instance.

But Nagi no Asukara is it's own category when it comes to visuals. Literally visual porn.

Higurashi Gou is the worst anime in existence.

The Night is Short, Walk on Girl is probaby the most visually pleasing anime I've seen. The Tatami Galaxy had amazing direction but the fact that it was a TV anime and that it was pre-flash Yuasa meant it looked a bit rough around the edges. Flash really breathes new life into the art style and the fact it's a film means they could really work hard to make things look consistently good.

In terms of visuals, the recent mainstream ones come up such as Kimi no Na Wa, Made in Abyss and a few from Kyoto animations like Koe no Katachi and Violet Evergarden. Also, Mad House produces a bunch of stunning visually appealing animes, but it's unfortunate that it's uncommon (or takes a while) to release sequels.
