I haven't watched the movies and the art on this one seemed a little old school. At first I expected this to be a harem shit with stupid teens playing war but nope. The first episode was made so god damn well that I believe this to be the best mecha anime out there. I'm so glad I decided to double check the season chart for any more good anime. Too early for me to rate this yet, but after watching the next two episodes I'll decide whether to give this 9 or 10 out of 10
Just as beautiful as I remembered. I can't wait for Girge to show up. And I like the new op. The old one was good, but this one gets me more pumped up.
Here I was expecting a continuation... but instead got the movies re-hashed as a series.
I'll probably still watch it because I know it's decent. Cleo ftw.
You guys really need to read the useful comments before commenting. This re-make had to be done because the OVAs were terrible from episode 3 on-wards. Girghe's fight weren't just a little bit better in the manga, it was completely different. Then you've got the finale between Rygart and Borcuse. Rygart was supposed to use a katana and double shuriken instead of that bungee shuriken. The entire strategy was botched in the OVAs...
If this is just a tv version of the movie, why don't they just use the old op, kokia's fate? That is much better than this new op.
sigh..
won't put much hope on this one. that ending of the movie...I just don't get it why they did that when they can just stick to the manga and ends at a safe place for a possible Movie2.
Already knowing the series and knowing the fact that it is a recompiled with new scenes, I rate him with the right references without making unnecessary controversy.
Strengths of this series of films as the Mecha Design, the real robot, the OST, the Chara design and characters.
Too bad that all this is missing Kokia with his voice in the opening really in line with this series!
Technical and graphic very nice, maybe the CG is not present as those of recent years but is defended well.
Start a bit hasty plot presents events in a fast and a bit lowered the final, but it is not bad; indeed intriguing.
Final rating for now, with 7/10!
I was afraid the animation quality would drop with a TV broadcast retelling the story,
but it turned out ok
Watching the scenes just gave me the recollection how good those movies were
bad OST + bad action scenes
5/10 for this episode.
Isayama Hajime should be awarded The Manga with The Highest Inconsistencies of Characters' Appearances.
He keeps performing multiple plastic surgeries on those Shingeki No Kyojin characters in a SINGLE chapter.
Yes, I've read up to the latest chapter of Shingeki No Kyojin manga.
Forced myself to read through the kidsketching chapters after the anime's ended. At least from now on, I only have to go through the hell once a month.
Patiently awaiting SNK TV/movie/OVA anime-sequel.
The 2015 SNK live-action movie would probably suck.
mecha huh? interesting.. even more so because it's medieval. Warring kingdoms and stuff. I only have one complain though. They really should add a battle soundtrack. Because when these giant robots clash, it's quiet lol. We need some rock and roll dubstep music to keep them blood pumpin
The art and animations are weird at places.
But I do kinda respect the fact they used 2D animation for the mecha stuff.
The world itself seems... interesting? Not the "shit I gotta read up the lore", but more like "Yes, I am somewhat intrigued".
Of course, the whole unique MC with plot powers is boring as heck, and the way the episode advanced was cliched as heck.
