I honestly didn't like at all the fact that Rudeus considers Zenith a stranger he lived with instead of a mother, but the episode was incredible
| @Saku33 He obviously likes Zenith but his connection with her isn't quite the same as someone like Paul. But hey, Rudy might also have not been honest with his feelinsg completely since at the very end, the way he felt goes quite beyond tragic for a random roommate feeling. |

| Having read the novels I knew this was coming but it still hits so hard. Hate him or love him, Paul was an excellent, complex character, the likes of which rarely are seen in this medium. They nailed the adaptation with the ending specially. The music background, no vocals...really well done. Next episode will cause an uproar I bet. |

| I like how quick and abrupt that was. One moment they were doing fine, then he blinked and his arm's gone along with half of his father. No last word, no warning, nothing. It felt "real" in a way. Sometimes, seconds is all it takes. |

Some LN Extra Details (Volume 12 Chapter 8-10 (partial))
- Elinalise lends mana imbued crystals to Roxy and Rudy incase they needed to recover their mana.
- Hydra is a type of dragon. It was varied by colors of white, gray and gold in Demon Continent, but they never saw a green type before.
- Roxy said it is a Manatite Hydra that absorbs mana. It was spotted during the second Great Human-Demon War. It was last heard to be slain before the continent split apart.
- They cremated Paul's body there to prevent it from being zombified even though Rudy was conflicted by it. He had hoped to bring some part of him back as a proof to his family, but none is left
- Paul only left 3 things, the metal breastplate that protected his torso, the magic sword and his favourite sword.
- A lot of thinking and reminiscing when Rudy was at the inn. He wonders what Paul is actually thinking seeing his final face in his death, and what is he actually trying to say beforehand (Maybe we will see that more in next episode)
- Rudy had hoped that he could celebrate and then grief together with Zenith once she woke up, but he was truly depressed to see her condition and knowing that he had lost both of them.
Differences from LN
- Part of chapter 10 is shortened after they saved Zenith

| It would be really nice to have an elemental fire sword on hand, but there's none, or is there such a thing? lol RIP Paul, literally. Rudy was being careless as he smirked earlier. What irony and tragedy. -1 + 1 = 0 So they burned his body instead of bringing it back. Then her mother turned into a child-like state. Rudy is in for another tragic life. P.S. I'll refrain from reading the spoilers before my comment. OwO |

| It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it, is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service. |

| The ending was hard to watch with both Paul and Zenith. Even though I would’ve preferred a happy ending, it’s nice to get a show with actual stakes. |

| Holy fucking hell what an episode. Might be one of the best one's I've ever seen. Absolutely a 5/5 episode. Top tier animation, an intense fight and man that Paul reveal was just BRUTAL! Nice that it played for a little longer and the music just made it hit so much harder. Damn this show plays with your emotions. I just fall more and more in love with this series after every episode. |

| I'm sorry but that was just shit writing. Rudeus just randomly spazzes out so Paul has to sacrifice himself and then Rudy goes all reckless and gives his own arm away. Did a monkey write this? Paul was miles away from being the best character but he didn't deserve this. This is basically dropping a bridge on him. The disrespect. E: And they Casca'd Zenith? OOoooh they really trying to piss people off, huh? Also, everything Paul said and did this episode was basically setting up death flags. Man had more red flags in him than a Nascar crash. |

| A true father protects his family, wife and children. Its what gives him meaning. Thats what Paul did in the end, and is why his last expression was of satisfaction, knowing that Rudy is alive and that they succeeded in their mission. |
