Hinata having a meeting of her own. Gathering her top Knights to dish out what she discussed with Luminus regarding Rimuru. His new demon lord status and closeness with Veldora are contentious topics. Hinata seems to be coming around to the idea that Rimuru isn't an actual threat. All their reports of his nation and his temperament indicate that Rimuru just wants to life peacefully alongside humans which is exactly what he tried to tell Hinata when they fought. Hinata Knights are split on the matter though, with some wishing for a full attack in this new demon lord and others following what Hinata says. Luminus herself declaring not to attack Rimuru because of Veldora should be enough to quell these Knights but given the varying personalities at the table they all just won't listen. The tampered message that got delivered has absolutely shaken things up, Hinata was essentially already saying she would just go and talk with Rimuru to settle things. Thankfully she's still cautious about this obvious setup for her to try and fight Rimuru and Veldora. All these outside forces keep trying to mess things up for both sides.

I actually don't want that fight between Hinata and Rimuru to happen. Hinata almost immediately realised that something about this message was off, especially after she reconsidered her first meeting with Rimuru with a calm mind.

Still, the tension is palpable and moving forward, it feels every minor action could get interpreted as danger or hostility and let things escalate. Even her having the dragon buster could be enough.

But I want them to talk things out so badly.

Thank you all for your input. I was spoiled last year when I finally started watching this phenomenal series. I was able to binge in a couple weeks, so the back and forth from fantasy/drama/action seemed fluid not dragged. I did need to re-watch back in Jan. thru Mar to refresh for this season... actually second season twice, so grand and detailed. I don't read the literature, but the โค for this series alone is pushing me to.

Anyway, like many have said, and I can agree...this season is heavy with dialogue, meetings, politics...but, that's fine for me. I found out after re-watching first couple seasons, that I care more about the politics in Rimuru's world than my own country's. That being said, I do believe this episode had more meat than the previous ones this season. Although I did like ep with Luminus discussing Rimuru. 3? IMO, she is an intriguing character since the Walpurgis intro, so I'm glad we're seeing more of her.

The same with Hinata this episode, great depth added to her. In her first encounter with Rimuru, I felt she was rather robotic, esp being another worlder. But then again, she was in revenge mode after being led astray. I can agree with Stark700 a lot on how her leadership skills were shown... calm, cool, collected. Loved her inner reflections throughout meeting and metagame instincts when the Luminaires(sp) appeared. Letting them think she doesn't know what they're doing, etc.

I probably only watch sub, 1 out of every 5 series, and not many simulcast because I hate waiting....nothing against it. If show has the hook for me, I'll watch in Martian.

This series is THE hook.

Thank you for letting me share.

What happened to the pact Archbishop Reyheim was supposed to be under? He was to report Veldora killed the army in his reawakening.

That fake report was for the Falmuth nobles.
The Western Holy Church was monitoring Veldora so they would know that it's a lie. Rimuru wanted to see how they'd react so he let Reyheim report the truth to them.

I'm confused, why is Rimuru surprised that Hinata is coming ready to fight?

There are scenes missing from the anime.
Before Reyheim is killed he wanted to report to Diablo that the message could've been tampered with. Rimuru wanted to make peace with Hinata that's why he sent his message originally. Also that's why he ordered Reyheim to tell the truth, not the fake story to Hinata.

Meetings after meetings after meetings… this season just can’t without such roundtable meetings, can they? Moreover, introducing a bunch of new characters who we’re supposed to believe are as super strong and as righteous as one could be, voicing their opinions over Rimuru and Veldora, as if they could do anything about them was kind of infuriating to see tbh.

Anyways, leaving aside the entire blame game, and how Hinata is so ready to fight her past mistake of letting Rimuru escape, at the very least it was somewhat good to see that Farmus guy coming in and briefing them about the destruction he and his kingdom went through when Rimuru went full bonkers last season.

Enough of typical meetings and pikachu faces, we actually do want to see some action this season, which they kind of gave assurance we would, with Hinata. Now that she’s already coming with others, hope this thing doesn’t turn into a negotiation meet-up sort of, instead of an actual genuine fight.

Probably the best of the talking episodes so far, I figured it would be since it was focused on Hinata’s side of things which I personally think is a lot more interesting than further developing Tempest, that being said it was still contained in one room for most of the episode and there was no attempt to make it visually interesting once again, just characters in a room talking. It is what it is tho, I’ve accepted that a lot of Tensura is just gonna be this way, and at least it seems like things might be getting more interesting next episode with Hinata going right into the lion’s den, it’s possible they do just talk again but as I said last episode, it will at least be more interesting than what we’ve seen so far.

And yeah it’s pretty clear those old masked dudes are causing some fuckery, Hinata caught on herself, that Rayheim guy was probably dead before he even walked in there, and the message was definitely tampered with, but hey maybe we should thank them for getting something to happen lol. It’s also cool to see how Rimuru is viewed by others, he seems pretty damn terrifying from their perspective, it’s the truth really, it’s just he’s such a goofy ass otherwise so it’s hard for the viewers to see him that way lol.

All the politics and information wars are so interesting, I'm absolutely loving this season so far. There will probably be a big fight between Rimuru and Hinata, but I hope everything ends peacefully.
Btw was it ever mentioned that Hinata is also an otherworlder? It came as a surprise.
Also it's so fun listening to them talking about Veldora like that while we know his true nature (he's really super strong tho).
@Embient <3 We are on the same page here. I'm also a bit blurry on whether Hinata was otherworldly or not. I do remember them explicitly giving us Shizu's back story but not Hinata. Either way it makes sense as Shizu was her original mentor.

Cheers! Excited for next week. ^_^

Hinata having a meeting of her own. Gathering her top Knights to dish out what she discussed with Luminus regarding Rimuru.

BTW... I still wonder why Hinata still doesn't know about Veldora's current situation... when Luminus literally saw him... but apparently didn't tell Hinata about it? when they were talking about stuff?

.

Also, LOL @ the Humans

"We're the saints, no Demon Lord can get the better of us"

Except.... the "Oracle" that is their "ruler"... is actually a Demon Lord, LOOOOOL

The Humans are pretty stupid huh...

I can see why that supposedly strongest "Hero" decide to become a Demon Lord instead. LOL

.

So... We're gonna get another Rimuru vs Hinata fight?

BTW, since Hinata's skill can copy any skill, can she copy Rimuru's advanced awakened Demon Lord skills? hmm...

.

Before Reyheim is killed he wanted to report to Diablo that the message could've been tampered with.

So... how did the message get tempered?... was it one of those "old dudes"? (or that Yuuki guy). But didn't the message go directly from Rimuru to Hinata... so that means somehow, even tho the fat dude is suppose to be monitored by Diablos... gets captured, brainwashed and the message tempered?

Quite weird... lol

.

Well... looks like the other Humans are all gathering up for a giant war against Rimuru.

I wonder if Hinata will actually end up fighting Rimuru... or is Hinata too dumb to figure things out even tho she herself during the first half of the episode was saying she misunderstood Rimuru and thinks about herself being used and such... LOL

I guess the message from Rimuru was tampered by one of the floating old men beforehand, that's why he knew Rayheim was carrying a message.

K, honestly for a meeting episode it wasn't as bad as 3 or 4. Finally it seems like the story is moving.

The main problem, objectively, is that there's so much repeat information, irrelevant information, as well as information that becomes immediately irrelevant.

1. Repeat information: We the viewer already know what's going on in Falmuth, we the viewer don't need to hear it again for the third time. Throw in a one-liner about "we've learned about what's going on in Falmuth", instead of a character explaining the situation there AGAIN.

2. Irrelevant information: There's this particular line that really stood out:
- Girl: "I'll look into it again"
- Hinata: "please do, don't let your guard down",
- Girl: "you got it, I'll dig up all the details"
I know may be a realistic conversation, but for the sake of brevity you don't need these additional lines. There's been so many instances of these in the past 5 episodes.

3. Lastly, we don't know any of these new characters yet. It's hard to get invested in their individual opinions about the situation. They spend the first 5 minutes shitting on Hinata and wanting to go against Rimuru, but Hinata then reveals the oracle's message, which changes their minds immediately; the initial discussion becomes irrelevant.

I'm just hoping that they're just saving money on this episode to use in future episodes, because this one had to have been incredibly cheap to make. I know we meme about "powerpoint animation", but this one was particularly bad.

Seriously, just pay attention to how little actual movement there is. They even reused the "Archbishop walking forward" animation twice, which was particularly noticeable because he and the 3 floating characters were the only ones actually moving in that entire 20-minute scene.

Also, who are the Seven Luminaries? They came out of nowhere, and they're just described as "from the legends" and "those who train heroes". Hinata usurped them apparently, but she still has to listen to their orders?

I'm just holding out for the later episodes to nail the landing, because this has been a superbly bumpy takeoff.

@felixsifuri Rewatch the previous episode. Rimuru says "The message I sent said that I'm willing to let bygones be bygones". The message we saw in the episode was clearly not this. Conclusion should be that message was altered in some way.

@HiddenArmy Yeah no, don't try to strawman here. There's a middle ground between "people stiffly talk in a room for 20 minutes" and "all action and spectacle", and most people just want that middle ground.

The actual world they've built is great, but the storytelling here leaves a lot to be desired.

I mentioned this in another comment, but why do they need to recap what's going on in Falmuth again? I know the characters in the scene need to be caught up to speed, but they don't need to show we the viewer what we already know again. Same with the Archbishop - He's telling us with a flashback to last season information we already know, again. This is not good writing in any medium; even in a novel this would be considered tedious.

For all the wasted time in the dialogue, they then rush past the Seven Luminaries. They just show up, and there's two lines describing who they are. Hinata says she usurped them, but she still has to listen to their orders... why exactly, we don't know.

They spent the time on repeat info and irrelevant information, but then skip over important details. I don't even know the names of any of the characters in this scene, they were just written on the screen for a couple seconds each.

Sorry, but this is not "proper world building".

Isn't it obvious?

The message is tampered with.

Who did it?

Since Hinata is confused about why the Seven Elders just suddenly came and why they know Rayheim has something for Hinata and why they're so eager for Hinata to fight against Rimuru and even give her the Dragon Buster to take care of Veldora. A simple guess would be that the Seven Elders tampered with it and most likely killed Rayheim.

For what reasons?

Dunno. But probably related to Luminous, maybe the main goal is to kill Veldora after all since they know that Luminous hate him? Which is funny since Luminous herself wants to avoid conflict with Rimuru. We'll see.

Its nice to see Kingdom of Engrassia x Lubelius people on screen with all of their different characterization, especially those kiddo. Even if its already clear enough with Hinata direction over Rimuru matter by how her talk with her darling. But well nothing comes in a smooth way to be the peacekeeper.

Well looks like Rimuru plan to brings a peace message using Falmuth archibishop don't meet a good end, since those flying 'legends' obviously doing something suspicious behind the scene. But this is actually pretty expected since that's where everything gonna comes in a great hype on the future episode. I hope 8bit doing their best handling that, because ngl its kinda worrying me with all of their production schedule.

Diablo and his somber face tho, he seems ready to burst some anger after the rip of Rayheim xd

Looking forward to see the next....

I like where this is going ... not.
The crunchyroll subtitles were a total mess so I can't say that the episode was terrible for now.
But I think we don't need more discussion at the table episodes, while it's essential for the show to learn about the motivation of the different factions,
you don't have to show it that dry and uncreative. Why should I care about Hinata and her people no one has ever seen before.
They will be defeated by the end of the season anyway (probably), so it's questionable if it's worth 22 minutes of anime time.
For weekly watch the show is not the right candidate.

@Treyv0n Good world building is there like Made in Abyss, Kingdom, Mushoku Tensei, Psycho-Pass, Twelve Kingdoms. I dont even like all of those listed here as anime but they know when to show, when to tell and mixes them damn well. Better than sitting through so many dragged out lecture-like meetings in the same kind of rooms over and over again. Nothing about shounen meatheads here since those kind of anime suck for me most of the time, the execution in this anime is just lazy and way too safe. Meetings in season 2 didnt even result in a good payoff so the hype for them immediately in new season dont help one bit

From one meeting to the next, it's Hinata's turn with the various ministers of Engrassia, but the most pressing issue is Rimuru being promoted to Demon Lord status and clearly being a threat, of which the Church wants to desperately abdicate him, and which ONLY Hinata got the real message that Rimuru doesn't want to raise his swords against them, especially since they're Otherworlders.

Trying to talk to Rimuru and strategically plan their route is the utmost importance, and that's where Archbishop Reyhiem comes in...if only they didn't get interrupted by the members of the Seven Luminaries of Luminus, of which Hinata learnt her Usurper skill from them, and are also interested about Rimuru's decimation of Falmuth, which he as progressed rather dangerously fast as a being. Together with Rimuru's message of a 1-on-1 with Hinata, the threat is clear, but Rimuru has gods on his side, especially Storm Dragon Veldora, which they have the Dragon Buster sword ready for the kill.

Rimuru's intent to see Hinata...well, it didn't go to plan. Plus, Reyhiem being killed and silenced by the Luminaries, things have gone to an irreversible state now...war is inevitable.

This episode is just a bunch of people talking but I love it. Whatever the name of that country is, Lubellius or Engarassia or whatever, they seem to act like the US lol. Fucking with other countries affairs and all that. But what I loved the best was that they arrived to the right conclusion, that Veldora may be the greatest threat but it's Rimuru that they should be more wary of. Not only has he ascended to become an awakened demon lord, he's also the one keeping Veldora stable, via food and manga lol

if she causes trouble then I just want rimuru to kill her,, i don't think he will ever do that,, until someone dear to him dies he will be chill,, he is just too chill for me, i mean because of hinata everyone from his nation died for no reason, even if she had a reason she should have killed rimuru instead of whole monster nation,,

i don't know why demon lord guys are good guys here???
I just hope guy or milime goes rampage on hinata and that church,,i don't want to see hinata because she is a manipulated, isn't true to herself, she knows she is wrong yet just brushes it off, but others did wrong she will kill them,,

I'm confused, why is Rimuru surprised that Hinata is coming ready to fight?

I think they manipulated the video what Rimuru made.

@Naruto__senpai my guy is cooking him I loved it lol.
@Lizsaki except date a live is the number one polled anime this season with little hype going in. And this anime has collapsed on all polls, even trending and it argably had the most. You knew you dropped the ball if half the comments are complaining, even ln readers admit it won't get better, u have the worst reviewed and performing anime movie in modern history, even elf bride, delicious in dungeon is doing better that this. The pedophile anime mushoku tensei is getting better reception.

I bet 10 bucks you have no idea what is going on in dal despite a child can tell from the op song.

You were supposed to focus on the characters in the meeting, not on the recap itself.

Most characters we don't even care about ? Apart from Hinata, none of them have been introducted and their reactions are mostly "haha I can do it" / "wow so strong". Like Hinata thinking is interesting, her relation to the board / the seven luminaries is interesting. The rest is definitely boring and poorly done. In addition, there isn't anything like "you should focus yourself on that". A story is a whole, worldbuilding and character developments work together. Doing : character dev then world building then battle is terrible writing.

This meeting looks like the elite meeting in a battle shonen where all the high ranked people review the achievements of the hero so far... except those scenes take 2 minutes and not 20 minutes.

There are just better ways to do that type of things. Log Horizon, Tanya and even Overlord (despite an extremely poor animation) have all meetings that are not slugfest and retelling of past informations while still conveying the reactions of everyone. I have read many books with informations being conveyed multiple times by different POV and you wouldn't think they conveyed the same informations because of how they are told. This on the other hand is an EXACT retelling of the same informations again and again.

That's even disregarding the artistic side. Because this is also boring in that department. Just close-up after close-up without really any meaning, this is the LN adaptation disease. The meeting lacks tension, emotions and everything. The sole good part is the arrival of the seven luminaries which breaks it.
