Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/3086/Strait_Jacket Add: Gore [b]Detailed Reasoning: "Straight Jacket" is an anime that prominently features elements of gore throughout its narrative. Set in an alternative world where alchemy and science intertwine, the story follows a group of exorcists known as Inquisitors who wield powerful suits called "Makenshi" to combat demonic creatures known as "Horrors." The anime is characterized by intense and violent battles against grotesque and malevolent Horrors. The combat sequences often involve graphic depictions of bloodshed, dismemberment, and visceral confrontations. The animation does not shy away from portraying the dark and brutal nature of these battles, heightening the sense of danger and urgency faced by the characters. The presence of gore in "Straight Jacket" is integral to the anime's thematic exploration of the consequences of tampering with forbidden alchemy and the harrowing struggles faced by the Inquisitors in their quest to protect humanity. The explicit and visceral depiction of violence serves to emphasize the gravity of the situations they encounter and the sacrifices made to combat the Horrors. By adding the "Gore" tag, we accurately represent the anime's dark and mature themes, alerting viewers to the presence of graphic and violent content. This genre tag helps guide audiences who seek anime with intense action and elements of gore, while also ensuring that viewers are aware of the explicit nature of the series. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/1374/Kyoushoku_Soukou_Guyver_2005 Add: Action, Superpower, Horror, Gore Detailed Reasoning: "Kyoushoku Soukou Guyver" (Guyver: The Bioboosted Armor) is an anime that seamlessly blends elements of action, superpower, horror, and gore to create a thrilling and intense viewing experience. The series revolves around the discovery of advanced bio-mechanical suits known as "Guyvers," which grant their wearers superhuman abilities. These suits are the result of twisted scientific experiments that have gone horribly wrong. As the protagonists uncover the dark secrets behind the creation of the Guyvers and the sinister organization known as "Chronos," they find themselves entangled in a web of horror and supernatural power. The anime delves into gruesome and unsettling themes as the characters face grotesque creatures and powerful foes. The battles are filled with graphic and visceral scenes, depicting bloodshed, dismemberment, and intense combat sequences. This display of violence adds to the horror element of the series, heightening the sense of danger and suspense. The presence of superpowers is central to the plot, as the characters harness the incredible abilities of the Guyvers to confront the nightmarish creatures and malevolent forces that threaten humanity. The supernatural powers of the Guyvers and their adversaries are showcased in action-packed battles throughout the series. By adding the "Superpower," "Horror," and "Gore" tags, we accurately represent the core aspects of "Guyver: The Bioboosted Armor." The inclusion of these genres helps attract viewers who enjoy thrilling action, dark and supernatural themes, and intense gore. Additionally, it serves as a content warning for those who may prefer to avoid graphic and violent depictions. The combination of superpowers, horror, and gore creates a unique and compelling anime experience that captivates audiences seeking a blend of supernatural action and chilling suspense. Also despite having a PG-13 rating, the anime is still appropriate for the gore tag and for instance I recall another PG-13 anime on this site that has the gore tag and it’s the original Baki, therefore if that’s the case then Guyver should have the gore tag as well. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/11837/Zetman Add: Superpower, Gore Detailed Reasoning: "Zetman" is an anime that features prominent superpower and gore elements, making the addition of these tags essential to accurately represent its content. The anime follows the story of Jin Kanzaki, a young boy with mysterious powers, and Kouga Amagi, a wealthy heir who becomes a hero for justice. As the series progresses, both characters are thrown into a world of genetically-engineered creatures known as "Players" and dark organizations that manipulate them. The story explores the themes of power, justice, and the consequences of tampering with human genetics. The presence of superpowers is a central aspect of the anime. Jin possesses the ability to transform into a powerful and enigmatic being known as "ZET," granting him immense strength and regenerative abilities. On the other hand, Kouga relies on advanced technology and martial arts training to fight against the monstrous "Players." The anime features intense and action-packed battles that showcase the characters' superhuman abilities and the devastating power of the Players. "Gore" is another significant element in "Zetman." The battles between Jin, Kouga, and the Players are often brutal and intense, with graphic depictions of violence, injuries, and bloodshed. The anime does not shy away from showing the darker and more visceral aspects of combat, contributing to the sense of danger and urgency in the narrative. By adding the "Superpower" and "Gore" tags, we accurately represent the core themes and content of "Zetman." The inclusion of these genres appeals to viewers who enjoy action-packed stories with superpowered characters and intense, visceral battles. Additionally, the "Gore" tag serves as a content warning for those who may prefer to avoid explicit and graphic depictions of violence. Overall, "Zetman" offers a compelling blend of superpowers and gore, creating a thrilling and suspenseful anime experience that captivates audiences seeking a darker and action-oriented narrative. |

Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/35799/Miniforce https://myanimelist.net/anime/46846/Miniforce__Super_Dino_Power Add: Anthropomorphic, Mecha Detailed Reasoning: The main characters in the series are animals that are given human-like qualities and abilities, making them anthropomorphic. These anthropomorphic animals are the main characters of the series, and they work as secret agents with superpowers to protect other animals and fight against villains. In the series, the anthropomorphic animal characters transform into robotic suits called "Miniforce X" to enhance their abilities and combat powerful foes. The mecha aspect makes the show action-packed and that’s what makes it play a significant role in the series. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/845/Kiba Add: Action Detailed Reasoning: It should have the action tag because the anime is filled with numerous action sequences and intense battles. The series revolves around Shard Casters, who possess unique abilities and powers, engaging in combat against each other and various foes throughout the story. These action-packed scenes play a significant role in driving the plot forward, showcasing the characters' skills, powers, and growth as they face challenges and enemies in the world of "Amil Gaul." The action in "Kiba" is a central element that keeps viewers engaged and entertained, making it a suitable and important addition to the anime's genre tags. Thanks |

| Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/40960/Cheat_Kusushi_no_Slow_Life__Isekai_ni_Tsukurou_Drugstore Add: Iyashikei Remove: Harem, Comedy Detailed Reasoning: I am unsure where the harem tag has come from on this anime, in the anime they work in a drug store there are 2 male characters and 2 female characters that work in that drugstore (the main cast) which I would not consider a harem. They then go around helping other characters with various problems but they help a variety of people and does not focus on one gender or age in particular constituting a lack of a harem. Even the very very small instances of romance in the anime just focus on 1 to 1 relationships and most of the time are one sided with no attempt to all be going for the same character. So these are the reasons I believe the harem tag should be removed. (Also the manga is not tagged with harem). The reason I believe Iyashikei should be added is that I believe the anime has very calming and relaxing vibes. But as this may be subjective and not enough proof, the manga is already listed as Iyashikei and other sites list the anime as Iyashikei as well. Due to it being a Iyashikei I think the comedy tag can be removed. |

| Link to entry: Aishang Ta de Liyou Add: Love Polygon, Adult Cast Remove: N/A Detailed Reasoning: All of the characters are of university age and most of them are actively attending the university mentioned in the show's synopsis during the course of the show. While no ages are explicitly stated in the show, the source material states that Lee Joon/Juntang Yuan, the male protagonist, is 19 years old (Chapter 1) with the other characters implied to be older than him, such as Margo Kim/Zhu Zhu. Also, many of the characters consume and/or purchase alcohol at a store during various points of the show (e.g. during group dates and at get-togethers at the main protagonist's apartment complex), which implies that all of the characters are at least of the legal age to consume and/or obtain alcohol in South Korea (assuming that the show still takes place in South Korea). There is a definite love triangle between Juntang Yuan/Joon Lee, Duna Lee/Shiya Li, and Margo Kim/Zhu Zhu that is built up throughout the show, with Juntang originally having feelings for Zhu Zhu at the start of the series before slowly falling for Shiya over the course of the series. Zhu Zhu reveals early on (to the viewer) that she does have feelings for Juantang, but at that time, for some reason or another, cannot reveal this (?) to him until the end of the series. Shiya states somewhat at the halfway point of the series that she has a romantic interest in Juantang and has Juantang question throughout the majority of the series what exactly is their relationship. Ira Choi/Ruroni wavers throughout the majority of the series from having a romantic interest in Juantang to seemingly treating him as an acquaintance until the end of the series when Juantang makes his decision. |

Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/349/Magical_Canan Add: Ecchi, Mahou Shoujo Detailed Reasoning: Magical Canan has a pretty gratuitous amount of fanservice and it has plenty of suggestive content throughout such as magical girl/mahou shoujo transformations and skimpy outfits, panty shots, low cut offs, visible nudity where you can clearly see some characters suggestively naked and the ovas have explicit sexual content and also this was based on a adult and erotic/hentai game. This is obviously a magical girl/ Mahou shoujo anime since the magical aspect is important part of the show and it has many characters who do magical stuff. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/48/hack__Sign?q=Hack&cat=anime Add: Action Detailed Reasoning: The focus on this anime is on a MMORPG game and those scenes are often combined with action which makes them important and the characters often use skills to face off against opponents and enemies. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/13535/Binbougami_ga Add: Gag Humor Detailed Reasoning: This is indeed a gag humor anime because it parodies and makes fun of various anime tropes and genres. The anime is also full of hilarious and absurd situation jokes, and references that poke fun at the cliches and stereotypes of anime culture. The anime also has important and funny moments where characters make faces in an exaggerated and comical way hilariously. For example here’s a clip from the anime to support my claim: and it’s also similar to other gag humor anime such as Gintama, therefore adding the gag humor tag is appropriate. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/10033/Toriko Add: Superpower Detailed Reasoning: It’s a shounen anime that has various fighting scenes and characters who use powers. The anime is set in a world where people live to eat and seek out rare and delicious ingredients. The main character Toriko is a gourmet hunter, who hunts down these ingredients using his superhuman abilities. He is accompanied by Komatsu, a chef who wants to improve his cooking skills. Together, they face many enemies and challenges in their quest to complete Toriko’s Full Course Menu of Life. The anime has many moments where characters use powers during a battle for example Toriko uses beams and claws during fights and the anime is also similar to other shounen anime with the superpower tag such as DBZ. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/935/Witchblade[ Add: Drama, Adult Cast Detailed Reasoning: "Witchblade" incorporates several dramatic elements throughout its narrative, including complex character relationships, personal struggles, and emotional conflicts. The story delves into the psychological and emotional growth of the characters, exploring their past traumas and present challenges, thus justifying the addition of the "Drama" tag. Furthermore, "Witchblade" features an adult cast, with many of the main characters being mature individuals who have experienced life's complexities and responsibilities. The struggles and decisions they face often reflect the realities of adult life, making the "Adult Cast" tag an appropriate descriptor for the series. The show explores themes and issues that are more relevant and relatable to adult viewers, setting it apart from anime with younger, more adolescent-oriented casts. In conclusion, the addition of both the "Drama" and "Adult Cast" tags accurately represents the mature and emotional nature of "Witchblade," providing potential viewers with a better understanding of the themes and content present in the anime. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/890/Yuusha-Ou_GaoGaiGar Add: Superpower Detailed Reasoning It’s a action packed mecha anime that features various scenes of epic battles and it also features many moments of the gigantic robots using abilities which makes it a superpower themed show and also I find this to be similar to other mecha and superpower anime such as Code Geass in terms of superpowers. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/13161/Hagure_Yuusha_no_Aesthetica Add: Harem, Romance Detailed Reasoning: The harem tag is evident and appropriate for this anime because the anime follows the main character Akatsuki who is surrounded by various female characters as the cast and there are moments where they are important or interact with Akatsuki. The anime has plenty of romance as well for example the MC has a relationship with a pink hair girl named Miu and they are even moments where they kiss each other and other stuff etc throughout the series. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/3166/Ayakashi?q=Ayakashi&cat=anime Add: Supernatural, Superpower, Gore Detailed Reasoning: The supernatural genre is appropriate for Ayakashi, as it depicts the situation where the main characters, Yuu Kusaka and Eimu Yoake, have special or extraordinary abilities that are unnatural and unexplainable by science. These abilities are derived from a parasitic life form called an ayakashi, which grants the host superpowers at the cost of their life force. The ayakashi are also invisible to most people, except for those who have them or are aware of their existence. The supernatural genre helps viewers enjoy the mystery, horror, and suspense that result from the interactions and conflicts between the ayakashi users and their enemies. The anime also features tropes within the supernatural genre as it involves supernatural entitles as well such as demons. The superpower theme is also useful for Ayakashi, as it shows the development and progression of the abilities that Yuu and Eimu possess. These abilities include enhanced physical attributes, such as strength, speed, agility, and durability, as well as energy manipulation, such as creating blasts, shields, and weapons. The superpower genre helps viewers understand the potential and limitations of the ayakashi powers, as well as the challenges and risks that they entail. The superpower genre also adds some action and drama to the story, as it creates intense battles and fights between the characters. The gore theme is relevant for Ayakashi, as it displays graphic violence, bloodshed, and mutilation that are often caused by the use of ayakashi powers. The gore genre is not for the faint-hearted, as it features scenes of brutal killings, dismemberment, torture, and cannibalism. The gore genre helps viewers appreciate the dark and gritty tone of the anime, as well as the consequences and dangers of having an ayakashi. The gore genre also creates a contrast between the normal life of Yuu and Eimu and their involvement in a deadly game. Therefore, based on these reasons, I think that adding the supernatural, superpower and gore tags to Ayakashi would be a good idea. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/32262/Renai_Boukun Add: N/A Remove: Ecchi Detailed Reasoning It seems like it would be quite fine to remove the ecchi tag from this anime because while there is fanservice such as suggestive moments and interactions, they are not explicit and are relatively mild, furthermore it’s worth noting that a considerable amount of reliable sources such as AniDB and Anime Planet do not tag it as a ecchi anime and it’s primarily more of a romance series. Thanks!! Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/250/Konjiki_no_Gash_Bell Add: Action, Fantasy Detailed Reasoning: It’s obviously a action and fantasy anime because it features a significant amount of battles such as tournaments and characters using lots of magic and supernatural abilities scenes. The series has significant fantasy elements as well such as some magical and supernatural elements and other stuff that make it fitting for the fantasy genre. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/246/Groove_Adventure_Rave Add: Action Detailed Reasoning: The series is filled with action such as magical combat throughout the series, Rave Master is also similar to other action anime such as Fairy Tail and Edens Zero as they are all action packed anime from the same creator. |

However, each assassin only gets one chance; if they fail to kill her, they will be expelled.” Due to this being a High Stakes Game, this should have the Suspense tag as well. | Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/28883/Hidan_no_Aria_AA Add: Seinen Remove: Girls Love Detailed Reasoning: "Hidan no Aria AA" is a spin-off of the original "Hidan no Aria" series, and while it might contain yuri elements, it is not a girls' love (yuri) anime in the traditional sense. The main focus of the series revolves around action and with with the yuri aspects being minor and not central to the narrative. It is essential to recognize that spin-off series, such as "Hidan no Aria AA," often explore different aspects or elements of the original series while maintaining a similar universe. These yuri elements can be present for various reasons, including character interactions, humor, or fan service, but they do not define the primary genre or storyline. Comparing "Hidan no Aria AA" to other spin-offs like "A Certain Scientific Raligun," "Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya," and "Soul Eater NOT!" highlights that these series share a similar approach. They include elements from the original series but use them to create a distinct spin-off experience without solely focusing on girls' love relationships. This approach allows fans of the original series to explore new aspects of the characters and universe while keeping the primary tone intact. Additionally, it's important to note that "Hidan no Aria AA" is not widely categorized as a girls' love anime by reputable sources and platforms, which reflects the consensus among the anime community. The yuri elements are not prominent enough to classify it as a girls' love series, and the tag might give a misleading impression of the show's primary content. By removing the "Girls Love (Yuri)" tag from "Hidan no Aria AA," we acknowledge that while the series might include yuri undertones, they do not constitute the primary genre or focus of the anime. This adjustment aligns with the consensus among anime information platforms and accurately represents the show's content. It was also based on a seinen manga that was published in Young Gangan which is a seinen magazine, therefore the anime needs the seinen tag. Thanks! |

The anime also has a fast-paced and thrilling plot that revolves around the conflicts and challenges that Godou faces as a Campione. Supernatural: This tag is suitable for Campione! because the anime involves elements that are beyond the normal or natural realm of reality. The anime depicts the existence of gods, goddesses, demons, witches, and other mythical or paranormal beings that interact with the human world. The anime also explores the concepts of magic, divinity, mythology, and folklore that are not explained by science or logic. The anime also has a supernatural setting, as some of the events take place in different dimensions or realms that are connected to the gods or their domains. Mythology: This tag is suitable for Campione! because the anime draws heavily from various sources of mythology and legend from different cultures and regions. The anime features gods and goddesses from Greek, Roman, Norse, Celtic, Hindu, Persian, Japanese, and other mythologies that have their own histories, personalities, and motives. The anime also incorporates elements of folklore and legend from various countries, such as Italy, Japan, Britain, China, and others. The anime also references and explains some of the myths and stories that are related to the gods or their actions. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/38656/Darwins_Game Add: Suspense Detailed Reasoning: It should have the suspense tag for various reasons, as the suspense tag is very fitting for the anime because it involves a suspenseful game and this anime also has the survival tag, therefore since suspense and survival often go together, this should the suspense tag if that’s the case. The anime is also similar to other suspense anime such as “Future Diary” as they are both survival and suspense anime that involve a game of rules. Thanks Thanks! Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/40412/Japanda Add: Anthropomorphic Remove: Josei Detailed Reasoning: This did not originate from a manga at all, but rather a original and therefore the Josei tag is inappropriate and must be considered for removal. You can clearly see a panda in this, therefore the Anthropomorphic tag is appropriate. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/9367/Freezing https://myanimelist.net/anime/18001/Freezing_Vibration Add:Supernatural, Military, Superpower, Harem Remove:- Detailed Reasoning: "Freezing" and its sequel, "Freezing Vibration," encompass a range of genres that contribute to the anime's diverse narrative and thematic elements. The addition of the genres "Supernatural," "Military," "Superpower," and "Harem" helps provide a more accurate representation of the series' content and themes. "Freezing" and its sequel "Freezing Vibration" introduce supernatural elements with the presence of the Nova, extraterrestrial beings with destructive powers. The Pandoras and Limiters possess superhuman abilities, and the series delves into the origins and mysteries surrounding these powers. The supernatural aspect significantly contributes to the storyline, making this tag appropriate. The core premise of "Freezing" revolves around a military organization training Pandoras and Limiters to protect humanity from the Nova threat. The series features battles, strategies, and hierarchical structures commonly associated with military settings. Both Pandoras and Limiters possess unique superhuman abilities, often referred to as "Freezing." These powers are central to the combat and action scenes, making "Superpower" an essential genre tag. "Freezing" incorporates harem dynamics as the male protagonist, Kazuya Aoi, interacts with and forms close relationships with multiple Pandoras, including Satellizer el Bridget and Rana Linchen. The romantic and interpersonal elements of the series align with the harem genre. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/534/Slayers Add: Action Remove: - Detailed Reasoning: "Slayers" deserves the action tag added to its genre list because the anime is known for its action-packed and adventurous storytelling. Here are some key reasons to support this addition: Frequent Battles: Throughout the series, viewers are treated to numerous battle sequences involving powerful spells, sword fights, explosion’s, beams, and magical confrontations. The main characters, Lina Inverse and Gourry Gabriev, often find themselves in combat situations against various foes, including monsters, bandits, and dark wizards. Fantasy Adventure: "Slayers" is set in a richly developed fantasy world filled with magical creatures, mythical artifacts, and epic quests. The protagonists embark on adventurous journeys, exploring different lands and uncovering ancient mysteries. Action is an integral part of their adventures as they encounter and overcome various challenges and adversaries. Use of Magic: Magic plays a central role in the series, and many characters are skilled spellcasters. The utilization of magic, including the casting of spells, magical duels, and the summoning of powerful creatures, adds an action-packed dimension to the story. Dynamic Characters: The characters in "Slayers" are not only well-developed but also capable of handling themselves in combat situations. Lina, in particular, is known for her explosive and destructive magic spells, making her a formidable force in battles. Exciting Plot: The series features a mix of humor, drama, and action. The action sequences are integral to the progression of the plot, as they often involve conflicts related to the overarching storylines and quests. In summary, "Slayers" combines elements of fantasy, adventure, and action, making it a suitable candidate for the action genre tag. The frequent battles, use of magic, and dynamic characters contribute to the anime's reputation as an action-packed series within the fantasy genre. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/1164/Mahou_Senshi_Louie Add: Action Remove: - Detailed Reasoning "Mahou Senshi Louie" should have the action tag added because the anime features various action sequences and combat scenarios that play a significant role in the narrative. The story follows Louie, a bumbling magician, and his companions as they embark on adventures in a fantasy world filled with magical creatures, dungeons, and dangerous quests. Throughout the series, the characters frequently engage in battles against monsters, villains, and other adversaries. The action sequences in the anime involve magical spells, weapon combat, and strategic maneuvers. These action scenes contribute to the progression of the plot, character development, and the overall excitement of the story. They showcase the characters' growth, teamwork, and determination as they confront challenges and foes. Given the presence of action as a central element in the anime, adding the action tag to "Mahou Senshi Louie" accurately represents its content and appeals to viewers who enjoy action-packed fantasy adventures. I would also like to clarify the amount action in this anime is highly abundant and I will show you examples to support my claim: |

These series revolve around the magical adventures of young girls, their magical companions known as Jewelpets, and the fantastical worlds they inhabit. Throughout the series, the main characters discover their magical abilities, form powerful bonds, and embark on quests that involve using their magic for various purposes. The central theme of using magical powers for positive purposes aligns closely with the conventions of the Mahou Shoujo genre. The series showcases the girls' growth, development, and their responsibilities as magical protectors. This mirrors the traditional Mahou Shoujo narrative, where characters undergo personal growth while facing challenges and adversities. Elements like transformation sequences, magical battles, and the presence of magical creatures reinforce the series' alignment with the Mahou Shoujo genre. Furthermore, the series embodies core Mahou Shoujo values such as friendship, courage, and the use of magic to bring positive change to their worlds. The inclusion of magical artifacts and the interactions between the magical girls and their Jewelpet companions are reminiscent of the genre's hallmark elements. In conclusion, the "Jewelpet" series should be categorized as "Mahou Shoujo" due to its consistent thematic elements, magical focus, and adherence to the conventions of the genre. The franchise did not originate from a manga and the source is an original, therefore this anime cannot have a demographic tag. Many of the series have the anthropomorphic tag, but some of them do not and however I think each of them should because the animals are important and it will give a accurate representation to the franchise. Therefore I kindly request adding Mahou Shoujo and Anthropomorphic tags, with removing the Shoujo tag since it did not originate from a manga. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/274/Kiddy_Grade Add: Space Remove: Ecchi Detailed Reasoning: "Kiddy Grade" is an anime series that warrants the addition of the "Space" genre tag and the removal of the "Ecchi" tag. The series is primarily set in a galactic and outer space backdrop, and while it contains some occasional fanservice moments, they are relatively mild and do not define the central focus of the show. Notably, respected sources and streaming services do not classify it as an ecchi anime, further supporting the need for tag adjustment. The series takes place in a futuristic universe where interstellar travel and advanced technology are integral components of the narrative. The protagonists, Éclair and Lumière, are part of the Galactic Organization of Trade and Tariffs (GOTT) and engage in various missions and adventures across the galaxy. The space setting is not merely a backdrop but is intrinsic to the storyline, as characters navigate intergalactic politics, mysteries, and threats. Regarding the ecchi content, while there are occasional fanservice moments in "Kiddy Grade," they are relatively mild and incidental rather than being a central feature of the show. The anime's focus lies in its intricate plot, action sequences, and exploration of the galactic universe. The moments of fanservice are not excessive and do not overshadow the broader themes and narrative elements. Additionally, respected and reliable sources such as Anime Planet and streaming platforms do not classify "Kiddy Grade" as an ecchi anime. This classification aligns with the observations made above, suggesting that the fanservice in the series is not prominent or explicit enough to warrant the ecchi tag. I have also found a forum: https://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=275974 where other people were surprised that this was tagged ecchi and several of people complained about the ecchi tag and I agree with them. In conclusion, "Kiddy Grade" is deserving of the "Space" genre tag due to its primary setting and narrative focus on the galactic universe. The removal of the "Ecchi" tag is warranted by the relatively mild and infrequent nature of the fanservice, as well as the absence of this classification on reputable sources. This tag adjustment better reflects the anime's core themes and content. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/6205/K%C3%A4mpfer Add: Harem Remove: Girls Love Detailed Reasoning: It has the romance tag and due to the genre restrictions on MAL the GL tag is not appropriate for this anime and some other reasons the tag is not appropriate is that this anime does not fit the traditional sense of a yuri anime, while there may be some romantic interactions with characters there are more used for “Romance” and “Harem” dynamics rather than yuri ones. The harem tag is appropriate for Kampfer because the anime follows a classic harem storyline. In a harem, the main male protagonist is surrounded by multiple female characters who are romantically or sexually interested in him. Kampfer fits this description as the protagonist, Natsuru Senou, finds himself in a situation where he becomes a Kampfer, a warrior who can transform into a female version of himself to fight other Kampfers. This leads to various female characters expressing romantic or sexual attraction towards both versions of Natsuru as the harem tag is a significant part of the anime along with other genres and the MC has various love interests which are common characteristics of harem anime. It also have the same tags as it’s manga: https://myanimelist.net/manga/11606/K%C3%A4mpfer such as the ones I suggested, as the manga has the “Harem” tag but not the “Girls Love” tag. |

| Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/37446/Hyakuren_no_Haou_to_Seiyaku_no_Valkyria?q=Master%20of%20&cat=anime Add: Action, Adventure, Romance, Military Remove: N/A Detailed Reasoning: "Hyakuren no Haou to Seiyaku no Valkyria" is an anime that warrants the addition of the "Action," "Adventure," "Romance," and "Military" genre tags. These adjustments accurately reflect the core themes and content of the series. Firstly, the anime prominently features themes of war and military conflict within a fantasy setting. The central plot revolves around the protagonist finding himself in a different world where he becomes involved in battles and conflicts with various factions. These battles and skirmishes are central to the narrative and justify the inclusion of the "Military" and "Action" genre tags. Secondly, "Hyakuren no Haou to Seiyaku no Valkyria" incorporates adventure elements as the characters embark on journeys, explore new territories, and face various challenges and obstacles. Their adventures in this fantasy world are a significant part of the story, making the "Adventure" genre tag appropriate. Additionally, romance plays a key role in the series, with romantic subplots and relationships developing between the characters. The anime explores themes of love, attraction, and interpersonal relationships, which are integral to the storyline. Therefore, the "Romance" genre tag accurately reflects this aspect of the series. By adding these genre tags, we ensure that "Hyakuren no Haou to Seiyaku no Valkyria" is more accurately categorized, providing potential viewers with a better understanding of its core themes and content. It clarifies that the anime offers a blend of action, adventure, romance, and military elements within a fantasy setting, making it appealing to audiences interested in these genres. Link to entry:https://myanimelist.net/anime/25731/Cross_Ange__Tenshi_to_Ryuu_no_Rondo?q=Cross%20ange%20&cat=anime Add: Fantasy, Military, Gore Detailed Reasoning: "Cross Ange: Tenshi to Ryuu no Rondo" is an anime series that undeniably warrants the addition of the "Fantasy," "Military," and "Gore" genre tags due to its rich thematic content and portrayal of intense and explicit scenes. Firstly, the anime incorporates significant fantasy elements into its narrative. It introduces viewers to a world inhabited by dragons, mecha technology, and magical abilities. The existence of dragons and the inclusion of supernatural powers firmly establish the fantasy genre as a core component of the series. The fantasy elements are integral to the world-building and storytelling, as they shape the conflicts, characters, and overall setting. Secondly, "Cross Ange" explores the theme of war and military conflict in depth. The central plot revolves around a nation's military force and its battles against mysterious creatures known as DRAGONs. These conflicts are central to the storyline, driving character development and plot progression. The anime delves into the tactics, strategies, and consequences of war, making the "Military" genre tag highly appropriate. Lastly, the inclusion of the "Gore" tag is justified by the explicit and intense scenes of bloodshed and violence present throughout the series. "Cross Ange" does not shy away from portraying graphic and visceral combat sequences often in the form of the war battles, where characters engage in brutal battles with life-or-death stakes. The depiction of injuries, deaths, assaults, and the aftermath of combat is often explicit and intense, creating a visceral viewing experience that aligns with the "Gore" tag. By adding these genre tags, "Cross Ange: Tenshi to Ryuu no Rondo" is accurately categorized, providing potential viewers with a better understanding of its core themes and content. It highlights the anime's blend of fantasy, military conflict, and explicit violence, making it appealing to audiences interested in these genres and themes. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/31339/Drifters Add: Military, Gore Detailed Reasoning: Military: "Drifters" prominently features elements of warfare, strategy, and combat tactics. The central premise revolves around historical and legendary warriors, known as "Drifters," being summoned to a fantasy world to engage in large-scale battles. These battles are organized with military precision, involving various factions and strategies. The characters often employ weapons, tactics, and formations reminiscent of real-world military operations. The military aspects play a significant role in the narrative, making the "Military" tag highly relevant." Gore: "Drifters" is known for its graphic and intense combat scenes. The battles are filled with violence, bloodshed, and graphic injuries. Characters engage in brutal hand-to-hand combat, often resulting in dismemberment, decapitations, and other gruesome depictions of violence. This level of graphic content is a defining feature of the anime and justifies the inclusion of the "Gore" tag. In summary, the "Military" tag is warranted due to the prominent focus on military themes, tactics, and combat, while the "Gore" tag accurately reflects the graphic and violent nature of the anime's action sequences. These tags provide potential viewers with a clear understanding of what to expect from "Drifters" in terms of its themes and content. Thanks!! Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/39806/Mugen_no_Juunin__Immortal?q=Blade%20of%20&cat=anime Add: Gore Detailed Reasoning: "Mugen no Juunin: Immortal," also known as "Blade of the Immortal," should have the "Gore" tag added due to its explicit portrayal of violence, intense combat scenes, and graphic depictions of injuries and death. The series is characterized by its gritty and dark tone, where battles often result in bloody and brutal confrontations. The anime explores themes of vengeance, survival, and morality, and these themes are conveyed through visceral and gory visuals. The combat sequences are intense and unapologetic in their depiction of violence, with characters engaging in brutal fights that can lead to dismemberment, impalement, and other forms of extreme bodily harm. The consistent presence of explicit and graphic violence throughout the series justifies the inclusion of the "Gore" tag. The anime's mature content and focus on intense battles make the "Gore" tag an appropriate descriptor, accurately reflecting the dark and gritty nature of the series. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/40196/Kandagawa_Jet_Girls?q=Jet%20girls%20&cat=anime Add: Sports, Science Fiction Remove: N/A Detailed Reasoning: “Sports” and “Science Fiction” are major themes and genres of the anime because the focus on the anime relies on jet skie races, involving characters in matches and are part of futuristic technology often involving high speed jets. Furthermore, due to this having the “Racing” tag makes the “Sports” tag justified. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/37584/Bakumatsu https://myanimelist.net/anime/38860/Bakumatsu_Crisis Add: Time Travel Remove: N/A Detailed Reasoning: "Bakumatsu" and its sequel "Bakumatsu Crisis" are anime series that warrant the addition of the "Time Travel" theme tag. This adjustment accurately reflects the central plot device and narrative elements present in the series. The "Time Travel" theme tag is suitable for these anime due to their exploration of characters who are transported from the modern era to historical periods, particularly the Bakumatsu era of Japanese history. The characters find themselves in a time vastly different from their own, encountering historical figures and events. The premise of time travel is integral to the series' storytelling, shaping the conflicts, interactions, and character development. The anime showcases how the characters' modern perspectives and knowledge affect the course of history during the Bakumatsu era, adding a unique layer of complexity to the narrative. By adding the "Time Travel" theme tag, we ensure that the central thematic element of these anime is accurately highlighted. Potential viewers interested in time travel narratives and historical settings will be better informed about the core themes and content of "Bakumatsu" and "Bakumatsu Crisis."[/spoiler] |

Action films typically prioritize excitement, stunts, and physicality, and "Ninja Scroll" delivers on all of these aspects. The movie showcases intense sword fights, martial arts battles, and various action set pieces, which are central to the narrative and drive the story forward. Additionally, the film features a significant amount of violence and gore, further emphasizing its action-oriented nature. I have just realized this doesn’t have the gore tag and this is clearly a straight up gore because various viewers know that this anime features loads of mutilation, dismemberment, blood splatters, and visceral injuries. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/24781/Imawa_no_Kuni_no_Alice?q=Alice%20in&cat=anime Add: Gore Detailed Reasoning: "Imawa no Kuni no Alice" justifiably warrants the addition of the "Gore" tag due to its thematic content and portrayal of graphic and violent scenes. The anime is centered around a deadly game where participants are subjected to life-threatening situations, and the consequences of these situations are depicted in a realistic and graphic manner. The series features scenes of characters dying, getting killed, suffering realistic injuries, dismemberment, and bleeding. These depictions of violence and gore contribute to the dark and intense atmosphere of the anime. Additionally, the manga adaptation of "Imawa no Kuni no Alice" has been categorized with the "Gore" tag, indicating that the source material itself includes elements of graphic violence. Aligning the anime's tagging with the source material ensures consistency and accuracy in categorization. Furthermore, the inclusion of the "Gore" tag can help attract viewers who are interested in intense and gritty anime with themes of survival and deadly games. Fans of other gory anime such as "Deadman Wonderland", “Gantz”, and "Future Diary" may find common ground in the graphic and intense elements present in "Imawa no Kuni no Alice." The popularity of realistic and brutal themes in other media, like the Netflix series "Squid Game," suggests that there is an audience intrigued by such content in the anime genre as well. In conclusion, the addition of the "Gore" tag to "Imawa no Kuni no Alice" is a fitting classification that accurately represents the anime's graphic and violent content. It provides potential viewers with a clear understanding of the thematic nature of the series and its portrayal of intense and gory scenes within a deadly game setting. For example, Kana has the power of foresight, Kotori has the power of telekinesis, Kazumi has the power of hacking, and Neko has the power of regeneration. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/1560/Choujin_Gakuen_Gowcaizer__The_Voltage_Fighters?q=Voltage%20&cat=anime Add: Superpower, Gore Detailed Reasoning: Voltage Fighter is a series that combines martial arts and superpowers, based on a video game of the same name. The main characters use special stones called Caizer Stones to transform into powerful warriors and fight against an evil force called Omni Exist. The series has elements of Superpower and Gore, which are suitable tags for it. • Superpower: The series revolves around the idea of superpowers, as the characters use their Caizer Stones to gain different abilities and weapons. For example, the main character Isato Kaiza can turn into "Gowcaizer", who can control electricity and shoot energy blasts. Other characters have powers such as fire, ice, wind, gravity, or metal. The series also explains the origin of the Caizer Stones, which are pieces of a meteorite that gave humans superpowers in ancient times. • Gore: The series shows scenes of graphic violence and bloodshed, as the characters fight each other and Omni Exist. There are scenes of bloody wounds, severed limbs, and mutilated bodies. For example, in one episode, Isato's friend Kash kills several students with his sharp claws and stabs Isato with his tail. In another episode, Omni Exist rips out Isato's heart from his chest. Therefore, I think Superpower and Gore are reasonable tags to add to Voltage Fighter. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/2262/Sin__The_Movie Add: Gore, Adult Cast Detailed Reasoning: "Sin: The Movie" warrants the addition of the "Gore" tag due to its depiction of explicit violence and graphic content throughout the anime. The series includes scenes that prominently feature intense combat, brutal injuries, bloodshed, and disturbing imagery. The violence is often graphic and visceral, with a focus on realistic portrayals of combat and its aftermath. These elements create a visceral viewing experience that aligns with the "Gore" tag. The inclusion of such explicit and intense scenes enhances the dark and gritty atmosphere of the series, contributing to its overall tone. By adding the "Gore" tag, potential viewers will be better informed about the level of graphic violence present in the anime, ensuring that it is appropriately categorized and aligned with viewer expectations. The anime also features most of its cast as adults, including the MC so therefore the “Adult Cast” tag is also appropriate. Link to entry:https://myanimelist.net/anime/967/Hokuto_no_Ken Add: Gore Remove: N/A Detailed Reasoning: The series warrants the "Gore" tag due to its extensive and explicit depiction of violence and gruesome scenes. Throughout the anime, viewers are exposed to graphic depictions of battles that result in characters experiencing brutal injuries such as exploding into pieces, having their heads crushed, losing their limbs or having their organs exposed. These scenes are not censored or toned down, but rather shown in full detail and intensity. The violence is a central element of the martial arts narrative, creating a sense of danger and adding depth to the struggles faced by the characters. The series also explores themes such as survival, revenge, justice, and humanity in a post-apocalyptic world where violence is rampant and unavoidable. Therefore, the "Gore" tag would accurately represent the anime's intent and the nature of its mature content. |

| Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/1571/Ghost_Hunt Add: Shoujo Remove: Horror Detailed Reasoning: This anime has a lot of shoujo tropes the main character is a teenage girl and every episode has some element of swooning over the male characters. The Majority of the plot of the show focuses on teenage girls and emotions, with then links to the mysteries and supernatural powers. For example, there are multiple instances in the show of jealousy over boys/ men interacting with the other female characters and even has a scorned lover story in the show. One of the main points of the show is focusing on the feelings of female characters. The reason to remove Horror is related to the points above. The anime is a Shoujo, Supernatural Mystery. The show focuses on solving mysteries with supernatural elements. With the majority of the mysteries devoted to the feelings of the characters when not fucused on the supernatural elements. There are some horror scenes but in total it only equates to about 1-2% of the show. There are multiple episodes of the show that contain 0 horror scenes. Using MALs definition "Creating—and maintaining—a sense of dread in the audience takes priority, eliciting shock, fear, or disgust through atmosphere and frightening scenarios. Mood must be of equal or greater importance than setting and characterization in horror stories. Almost always, the main cast will be under constant threat of danger." There is little to non of the charateristics used in the definition there is no sense of dread no shock fear or disgust all there is is a threat of danger. Even then characters are rearly in danger, and in almost every case that they are in some sense of danger, the scene after the main character thinks about the male lead including thinking about how good looking he is cutting any tension then the story contiunes with the characters acting like there is nothing to worry about. So in conclusion, the main point of MALs definition I want to point to is Creating and maintaining, and like I said about 1-2% goes to creating horror situations but there is no maintaining it in the show, therefore the horror tag should be removed. |

Link to entry:https://myanimelist.net/anime/7322/Needless___Saint_Lily_Gakuen_no_Himitsu Add: Crossdressing Remove: N/A Detailed Reasoning: The "Saint Lily Academy" specials of "Needless" feature a different storyline and setting from the main series, where cross dressing is a major theme and a key element. In these specials, Cruz is enrolled as a girl at Saint Lily Academy by Eve and Mio, who want to protect him from the enemy. He faces various comedic situations and challenges due to his cross dressing, such as being mistaken for a lesbian, being harassed by other girls, or being forced to participate in a beauty contest. The cross dressing theme sets these specials apart from the original series, which is more focused on action, comedy, and sci-fi. These specials explore a different side of the characters, such as their personalities, relationships, and emotions. The cross dressing tag helps viewers recognize this unique aspect of these specials and enjoy them as a separate narrative from the original series. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/21507/Soul_Eater_NOT Add: School Remove: Ecchi Detailed Reasoning: The series does not deserve the ecchi tag because the fanservice is minimal and not the main focus of the story. The series is a spin-off of Soul Eater, which is not an ecchi anime, and it shares the same dark fantasy and comedy elements. The fanservice scenes are mostly comedic and do not involve nudity or sexual situations. Compared to other series that have more fanservice, such as Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya, which does not have the ecchi tag, the fanservice in Soul Eater Not! is less frequent and less explicit. Therefore, I think the ecchi tag should be removed. The series deserves the school tag because the majority of the story takes place in a school setting, where the characters learn to control their powers and interact with other students and teachers. The series shows various aspects of school life, such as the entrance exam, the dormitory life, the festival, the exams, etc. The school setting is also important for the plot and the character development, as it introduces new challenges and conflicts for the main characters. Therefore, I think the school tag should be added. Link to entry:https://myanimelist.net/anime/33475/Busou_Shoujo_Machiavellianism Add: Martial Arts Remove: Ecchi Detailed Reasoning: The series does not deserve the ecchi tag because the fanservice is minimal and not the main focus of the story. The series is mainly an action and comedy story, with elements of school life, harem, and martial arts. The series deals with the challenge of Nomura Fudou, a transfer student who has to defeat the five sword-wielding girls who rule over the school. The series has some fanservice scenes, but they are mostly used to show the personality or humor of some characters, or to contrast the tone of the story. The fanservice scenes do not involve nudity or sexual situations, and they are less frequent and less explicit than other ecchi series. Compared to other series that have more fanservice or are tagged as ecchi, such as High School DxD, Testament of Sister Devil, “Ikki Tousen”, “Prison School”, “Sekirei”, or To Love-Ru, the fanservice in Busou Shoujo Machiavellianism is significantly and absolutely much much less frequent. You can also watch the first episode on YouTube and while there may be a few suggestive scenes or awkward situations they are quite rare but here’s the link: , The series deserves the martial arts tag because it has many martial arts elements and themes. It’s important to note that the source material: https://myanimelist.net/manga/81707/Busou_Shoujo_Machiavellianism has the “Martial Arts” tag but not the “Ecchi” tag. The series is mainly an action and comedy story, with elements of school life, romance, and martial arts. The series deals with the challenge of Nomura Fudou, a transfer student who has to defeat the five sword-wielding girls who rule over the school. The series shows the martial arts skills and abilities that the characters have, such as western fencing, Japanese swordsmanship, Chinese martial arts, etc. The series also explores the history and philosophy of some martial arts styles, such as Kashima Shinden Jikishinkage-ryū or Wing Chun. The series is similar to other series that have the martial arts tag, such as Kenka Banchou Otome: Girl Beats Boys, Tenjho Tenge, Medaka Box, Ranma 1/2, or History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi. Therefore, I think the martial arts tag should be added. |

Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/38089/Okoshiyasu_Chitose-chan https://myanimelist.net/anime/32664/Bananya Add: Anthropomorphic Remove: Comedy Detailed Reasoning: Due to both of these anime being “Slice of Life” shows and MAL genre restrictions, the “Comedy” tags are not appropriate for them as they are more of “Slice of Life” anime. Both of these anime seem to have most of their cast as animals, for instance “ Welcome, Chitose” has penguins as its characters and “Bananya” has to do with cats 🐈 in bananas 🍌. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/37033/Emiya-san_Chi_no_Kyou_no_Gohan Add: Seinen Remove: Comedy Detailed Reasoning: The “Comedy” tag is not appropriate for this on “MAL” as this is more of a “Slice of Life” that’s part of the “Fate Franchise” that focuses on daily life’s of the food menu for “Emiya’s Recipe”, it also has the “Iyashikei” tag already. It was also based on a “Seinen” manga that was published in “Young Ace Jump” a “Seinen” magazine, therefore the anime needs the “Seinen” tag. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/916/Tokkou Add: Gore, Drama Remove: Comedy Detailed Reasoning: Tokkou is a gore anime because it features graphic and violent scenes that involve demonic creatures and police officers. The anime follows the story of Ranmaru, a detective who joins a special unit that fights against monsters called "Phantom Beasts". The anime shows various scenes of gory and brutal combat, where characters use swords, guns, and martial arts to kill their enemies. The animation showcases the gory details of these scenes, with realistic and horrifying visuals. The gore genre reflects the anime's explicit and violent content, warning potential viewers about the graphic nature of the series. Link to entry: "https://myanimelist.net/anime/998/Blue_Seed" Add: N/A Remove: Comedy, Sci-Fi, Ecchi Detailed Reasoning: The series does not fit the comedy, sci-fi, or ecchi genres because it has a different tone, theme, and focus. The series is mainly a dark fantasy and horror story, with elements of mythology, folklore, and romance. The series deals with serious topics such as the threat of the Aragami, the fate of the Kushinada, and the relationship between humans and nature. The series has some humor, but it is mostly used to lighten the mood or contrast the darker scenes. The series has some fanservice, but it is not excessive or central to the plot, it’s worth noting that most sources do not classify it as a ecchi anime either. The series has some sci-fi elements, such as the TAC organization and the Mitama technology, but they are not the main source of conflict or resolution. The series is more influenced by Japanese mythology and culture, such as the legend of Susanoo and Yamata no Orochi, the concept of Shintoism, and the role of the miko. Therefore, I think the comedy, sci-fi, and ecchi tags should be removed. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/15933/Vassalord?q=Vassalord&cat=anime Add: Gore,Shoujo Remove: Comedy Detailed Reasoning: Vassalord is a gore anime because it features intense and violent scenes that involve vampires and hunters. The anime follows the story of Charley, a vampire who works for the Vatican, and his master Rayflo, a vampire hunter who is also his source of blood. The anime displays various scenes of bloody and brutal combat, where characters use guns, swords, and teeth to inflict wounds and kill their enemies. The animation emphasizes the gory details of these scenes, with realistic and disturbing visuals. The gore genre reflects the anime's explicit and violent content, warning potential viewers about the graphic nature of the series. On the other hand, Vassalord is not a comedy anime, as humor is not a main or central aspect of the anime's plot. While there are some funny moments between Charley and Rayflo, they are not enough to classify the anime as a comedy. Removing the comedy genre would better represent the anime's main themes and genre. This was also based on a shoujo manga published in a magazine called Monthly Comic Avarus, therefore due to this being based on a manga the anime needs the shoujo tag. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/961/Virtua_Fighter Add: N/A Remove: Adventure, Comedy Detailed Reasoning: The anime is based on a video game series that is mainly focused on action and martial arts. The anime follows the adventures and battles of various fighters who participate in a world tournament. The anime does not have a lot of comedy scenes, and when it does, they are not very frequent, as they are mostly used to lighten the mood or add some personality to the characters. The anime is more of a serious and intense series that showcases the skills and styles of different martial arts and the motivations and backgrounds of the fighters. The comedy genre is not suitable or necessary for the anime, as it does not reflect the main genre or appeal of the series. The comedy genre may mislead or disappoint viewers who are expecting a more humorous or lighthearted series. Therefore, I request to remove the comedy genre from the anime. It should also have the adventure tag removed as well because although the anime includes some elements of adventure, such as characters traveling to different locations and participating in tournaments, these aspects do not constitute a significant or central part of the narrative. The primary focus of the series lies in the action-packed martial arts battles and the development of the characters' fighting skills. Adventure anime typically revolve around characters going on a journey or quest, exploring new places, and facing various challenges along the way. While "Virtua Fighter" does have some of these elements, they are not as prominent or integral to the plot as the martial arts battles. The majority of the episodes in "Virtua Fighter" revolve around the characters engaging in fighting tournaments, honing their abilities, and dealing with opponents from various backgrounds. These battles take center stage, and the narrative seldom deviates from the martial arts theme to focus on traditional adventure elements. Given the anime's primary focus on action, martial arts, and tournament battles, it is more accurate to categorize "Virtua Fighter" as an action and martial arts anime, rather than an comedy and adventure anime. The adventure aspects are relatively secondary and do not define the overall tone and direction of the series. |

Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/23787/Hi%E2%98%86sCoool_SeHa_Girls Add: Parody Detailed Reasoning: "Hi☆sCoool! SeHa Girls" is essentially a parody series that takes iconic Sega consoles and transforms them into cute, anthropomorphic girls. These console-girls, including Sega Saturn, Dreamcast, and Mega Drive, embark on adventures within the digital world, which often humorously references and parodies Sega's gaming catalog. The anime cleverly incorporates elements of Sega's games, hardware, and history into its narrative, providing a playful and comedic take on the gaming industry. This emphasis on parody is central to the anime's identity and humor. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/5039/Kurozuka?q=Kuro&cat=anime Add: Gore, Samurai Detailed Reasoning: Adding the "Gore" tag to the anime series "Kurozuka" is justified due to the significant amount of graphic violence and explicit content present throughout the show. The series features intense and brutal fight sequences, where characters are often shown being dismembered, decapitated, or otherwise subjected to graphic injuries. The violence is portrayed in a realistic and graphic manner, with detailed depictions of blood and gore. Furthermore, the "Samurai" tag is appropriate for "Kurozuka" because it incorporates elements of samurai culture and incorporates samurai characters into its storyline. The series takes place in both historical and futuristic settings, with flashbacks to feudal Japan where samurai warriors play a prominent role. The main character, Kuro, is a skilled swordsman who follows a samurai code of honor, and the show frequently showcases sword fighting and other samurai-related themes. Overall, the inclusion of the "Gore" and "Samurai" tags accurately represents the violent and graphic nature of the series, as well as its incorporation of samurai culture and characters. Kurozuka is similar to other gore anime that involve immortality and bloodlust, such as Hellsing or Blood+. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/1451/Shuranosuke_Zanmaken__Shikamamon_no_Otoko https://myanimelist.net/anime/1759/Jigen_Sengokushi__Kuro_no_Shishi_-_Jinnai-hen Add: Gore, Samurai Detailed Reasoning: Adding the "Gore" and "Samurai" tags to both "Shuranosuke Zanmaken: Shikamamon no Otoko" and "Jigen Sengokushi: Kuro no Shishi - Jinnai-hen" is appropriate based on the thematic elements and narrative content of these anime. Gore: Both of these anime feature graphic violence and intense combat scenes, often portraying battles with a high level of brutality. The "Gore" tag accurately represents the explicit and visceral nature of violence in these series. This includes scenes of dismemberment, decapitation, and other graphic elements. The thematic use of gore contributes to the mature and dark tone present in these anime. Samurai: These anime are set in historical periods of Japan, and samurai or skilled swordsmen play significant roles in the stories. The "Samurai" tag helps identify the martial theme and historical context, highlighting the presence of swordsmanship, honor codes, and samurai-related elements within the narratives. By adding the "Gore" and "Samurai" tags, potential viewers will have a more accurate understanding of the content and themes presented in these anime. This will assist those who specifically seek anime with graphic violence and historical, samurai-inspired settings in their viewing choices. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/816/Nanako_Kaitai_Shinsho?q=Amazing%20&cat=anime Add: Action, Ecchi, Medical Detailed Reasoning: It’s primarily a science fiction and mecha anime with a military theme, therefore the action tag is justified. The anime "Nanako Kaitai Shinsho" is a comedy-drama anime that follows the story of Nanako Shichigusa, a young nurse who works for Dr. Kyoji Ogami, a genius surgeon who performs bizarre and dangerous operations. The anime features ecchi elements, which are scenes or themes that depict sexual or suggestive content. Throughout the series, there are many instances of fanservice involving Nanako or other female characters, such as panty shots, nudity, fetishes, jiggly breasts, skimpy outfits etc. These scenes are often used for erotic comedic or dramatic purposes but they also add an erotic tone to the series. The ecchi elements are notable and frequent enough to classify the anime as an ecchi series since it incorporates sexual or suggestive content as part of its storytelling and they’re supposed to be titillating or suggestive just like I said. The anime also features medical elements, which are scenes or themes that depict medical or health-related topics or situations. Throughout the series, there are many instances of medical operations involving Nanako or other patients who suffer from various diseases or conditions. These scenes are often used for comedic or dramatic purposes but they also add an informative tone to the series. The medical elements are notable and frequent enough to classify the anime as a medical series since it incorporates medical or health-related content as part of its storytelling. Therefore, I believe that adding the "Ecchi" and "Medical" tags will better reflect two of the distinctive features of Nanako Kaitai Shinsho and its source material. It’s also worth noting that Nanako is often sexualized and you can also see a visible panty shot in the cover and picture of the anime which may be quite suggestive. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/48892/Yoshimaho Add: Fantasy, Isekai, Childcare Detailed Reasoning: Adding the "Fantasy" tag to the anime series "Yoshimaho" is justified due to its setting and the presence of fantastical elements within the story. The series takes place in a fictional world that includes magical creatures, supernatural abilities, and mystical realms. The characters in "Yoshimaho" engage in fantastical adventures and encounter various magical phenomena, such as spells, enchantments, and otherworldly beings. The "Isekai" tag is appropriate for "Yoshimaho" because it follows the typical isekai genre convention of a protagonist being transported or reincarnated into a different world. In this case, the main character, Yoshimoto, is an ordinary high school girl who suddenly finds herself in a magical realm. She must adapt to the new environment, navigate its challenges, and discover her own magical potential. The "Childcare" tag is justified due to the central theme of the series, which revolves around Yoshimoto's role as a caregiver for magical creatures. As she explores the magical realm, Yoshimoto takes on the responsibility of nurturing and caring for various creatures, often dealing with the challenges and joys associated with childcare. This aspect of the story adds a unique twist to the fantasy genre and provides opportunities for character development and emotional moments. Overall, the inclusion of the "Fantasy," "Isekai," and "Childcare" tags accurately represents the core elements and themes of "Yoshimaho," which include a fantastical setting, a protagonist transported to a different world, and the central focus on childcare within a magical context. |

Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/1573/Kishin_Douji_Zenki" Add: Supernatural, Mythology Remove: Fantasy, Ecchi Detailed Reasoning: "Zenki" follows the story of a young girl named Chiaki who becomes the master of a powerful demon guardian named Zenki. The anime draws heavily from Japanese mythology, featuring creatures such as demons, spirits, and gods that are rooted in Japanese folklore. One of the main themes of the series is the battle between good and evil, which is a prevalent theme in many mythologies. The show explores the conflict between Zenki, who is initially a wild and uncontrollable force, and the forces of evil that threaten the world. As Chiaki and Zenki work together, they encounter and confront various mythological creatures, gods, and demons throughout their journey. Furthermore, "Zenki" incorporates elements of Shintoism, which is an integral part of Japanese mythology. Shinto deities, rituals, and beliefs are often referenced or depicted in the anime, further emphasizing its connection to Japanese mythology. Overall, with its inclusion of mythological creatures, themes, and references to Japanese folklore and Shintoism, "Zenki" can be classified as a mythology anime. "Zenki" is primarily a supernatural action and comedy series, with elements of adventure, romance, and horror. The anime focuses on the battle between the guardian spirit Zenki and the evil forces of Karuma, as well as the relationship between Zenki and his master, Chiaki. While there are some fanservice moments in the series, they are minimal, tame, comedic, and do not involve a high amount of nudity or sexual situations overall. These scenes are also rare and do not significantly impact the plot or character development. Therefore, the ecchi tag does not accurately represent the series and should be removed. On the other hand, the supernatural tag is fitting for "Zenki" due to its numerous supernatural elements and themes. The series draws inspiration from Japanese mythology and culture, incorporating elements such as the legend of Susanoo and Yamata no Orochi, the concept of Shintoism, and the role of the miko. The anime features various supernatural beings and phenomena, such as guardian spirits, evil forces, demons, curses, and spells. Primarily taking place on Earth, supernatural stories incorporate elements or attributes that are unnatural and unexplainable by science. Creatures common in folklore (ghosts, vampires) or humans with metaphysical powers (telekinesis, mind reading) are often featured. Based on the provided definition, "Zenki" can be classified as a supernatural story. The series features supernatural elements such as the presence of demons, spirits, and gods. Zenki himself is a supernatural creature with the ability to transform into a powerful demon. These elements are considered unnatural and unexplainable by science, which aligns with the definition of a supernatural story. Additionally, the story takes place on Earth and includes characters with metaphysical powers, such as Zenki's abilities. While the majority of the cast may not possess these powers and would be in disbelief to discover them, the presence of characters with such abilities classifies the story as supernatural. Although the series may also have fantasy elements due to its fantastical setting and the inclusion of supernatural creatures, the defining factor in this case is the presence of characters with metaphysical powers in a world where most individuals do not possess such abilities.Character traits (e.g. demon/spirit) and setting alone do not determine if a story is Supernatural. If only a few characters have powers and most of the cast would be in disbelief to discover this (e.g. one man is an exorcist and the rest are normal adults), then the story is Supernatural. If majority of the cast has magical or supernatural powers (e.g. one normal highschool boy surrounded by five goddesses), then the story is Fantasy. Sometimes a story can be both Supernatural and Fantasy, but this is rare. When searching for stories featuring creatures, spirits, or gods from folklore, the Mythology and Vampire themes can help refine your search. For superhero stories, please refer to Mahou Shoujo or Superpower. Therefore, "Zenki" primarily fits the definition of a supernatural story based on the provided definition. Link to entry: https://myanimelist.net/anime/1067/Kishin_Houkou_Demonbane_TV Add: Drama, Fantasy, Science-Fiction, Supernatural, Super Power Remove: Ecchi Detailed Reasoning: "Demonbane" is a captivating anime that combines multiple genres and themes to create its unique narrative. The addition of the tags "Drama," "Fantasy," "Science-Fiction," "Supernatural," and "Super Power" accurately represents the core elements of the series. The inclusion of the "Drama" tag is justified as the anime explores the personal struggles, growth, and choices of its characters. The conflicts they face and the emotional journeys they undertake add depth and complexity to the story. The "Fantasy" tag is appropriate due to the presence of mythical creatures, cosmic battles, and supernatural forces within the series. These fantastical elements play a significant role in shaping the narrative and the world in which the characters inhabit. The "Science-Fiction" tag is applicable because "Demonbane" incorporates advanced technology, particularly the mecha known as Demonbane itself. The integration of futuristic technology in a world filled with supernatural beings and cosmic entities adds a distinct science-fiction aspect to the anime. The "Supernatural" tag is fitting as the series delves into a world where demons, gods, and other supernatural forces exist. The characters interact with and confront these supernatural entities, leading to epic battles and cosmic conflicts. Lastly, the "Super Power" tag accurately represents the abilities and powers possessed by the characters in "Demonbane." Kurou's ability to control the powerful mecha Demonbane Ignore the “Supernatural” tag for this entry please as I have learned this tag is redundant for this entry on MAL, Thank You! |

| @DoodyBangamer : please read MAL's Genre pages before suggesting changes. In particular MAL has non-standard definitions for the Fantasy and Supernatural genres, introducing an artificial distinction between the two so as to avoid tagging everything as both and making them meaningless. If majority of the cast has magical or supernatural powers (e.g. one normal highschool boy surrounded by five goddesses), then the story is Fantasy. If only a few characters have powers and most of the cast would be in disbelief to discover this (e.g. one man is an exorcist and the rest are normal adults), then the story is Supernatural. All the entries you suggested for change at the end of your latest post clearly belong to the first category (nearly the entire cast have magical/supernatural powers), and are thus correctly tagged as Fantasy only. (Yes, this isn't intuitive. But it's a deliberate choice from the MAL moderators to keep things organized, and it's counter-productive to clog the thread with change suggestions that don't fit with their rules.) |
