*dies from peak character development*

Man, what a good episode. Probably the first one I enjoyed from beginning to end since S1's premiere.
It was so nice to see Melt shutting mouths with pure hard work. His voice acting and acrobatics during his performance were simply stunning. Though it's a shame he didn't get the star-eyes after all those abstract animation sequences. Oh well.

Just as his character in the play surprised the audience, Narushima surprised us with this abruptly AMAZING animation!

This season became a 9 for me because of this episode alone. Congratulations for all the dedication of everyone involved in this episode, you are all fantastic!

Hello!?

Who on the production team is a Melt superfan!?

Dayum.

They really gave him "1 minute" of sakuga.

"Absolute peak". I hate using Gen Z slang, but it feels appropriate after witnessing such beauty.

Melt's development was executed perfectly here in my opinion. He didn't suddenly become an amazing actor, but still managed to elevate Kizami during his most important minute... with a purely breathtaking performance. I love how Aka gives side characters their chance to shine.

And of course, Doga Kobo's incredible animation for Tokyo Blade blew me away. Everything feels so much more expressive than the manga. Last two episodes were already 10/10 to me, so I'll go beyond and give this one a 12/10.

@dior I just honestly don't care about whatever problems these side characters have. Dude's getting jobs he didn't earn and I'm supposed to feel sorry for him?

I liked episode 5. But episode 6 was boooooooring... I guess they tried to depict a theater play that is awesome and high budget/quality. And they clearly put a lot of effort in the animation. But I feel like it was all glitter, no cake. I can imagine that the play would have been great if I were a character in the anime, but as a viewer of the anime, it was uninteresting and I don't feel like the story has advanced at all. Please tell me how I am wrong.

This episode is fkin awesome man, Narushima's part was AMAZING, from the build up to the climax it was executed very well!
Especially if the audience really relates to Narushima, it makes this episode 10 times better!
If i can express my feeling with my main language i will write full paragraph about this.
Very well Doga Kobo๐Ÿ‘ 5/5 for this episode

Ayo again, Oshi no Ko surprises me. I'm up to date with the manga, yet I barely remember any of these events, apart from the showdown between Kana and Akane having been pretty lit. But damn. The theatre music and sound design, on point! The voice acting, direction, and animation that really brings forward *key* frames.

But let's talk about the voice acting. Excuse me? Maeda-san? To be fair, I just watch two characters yell at each other in the climax of another anime and this doesn't even compare. When he yelled, I felt it. Melt's frustration; "every fiber of his being" was really exuding an immense sense of frustration. Hats off to Maeda, again. Man, I replayed that scene so many times.

Second, the music! When the scene changed to Melt's advantage, the music did a complete 180. Not only did it match the action, the narrative, but the traditional element to it that suited the play exactly was also an amazing touch! Great music. And sound design! Sound effects, amazing, as always.

If I HAD to nitpick, it'd be the idle music. It was... a very interesting choice. Jajaja

LOL the best, most inspired and greatest animated episode of this season was about...

- a side character the audience normaly shouldn't care less.

I don't think was a good ideia in the plot, but surely the ANIME STUDIO did some magic.

OnK is a fantastic piece of animation

Uh-oh. Something's wrong when a couple minutes dedicated towards a side character whose name I couldn't take seriously and previously didn't even think that much about is the best part of this entire series for me. I felt more for him than I did for Aqua later on (doesn't help that I already feel so underwhelmed by the Ai/revenge storyline prior to that). ๐Ÿ’€

It's possible that the anime elevated Melt's story with how it executed it, but it was very impressive and compelling nonetheless. They went above and beyond on the animation - nothing else can even compare - truly showed what this medium is capable of and more. That was "Mob Psycho 100" levels of visual storytelling. It's like what episode 11 of "Oblivion Battery" was for me (by making a show I wouldn't otherwise think much on more memorable than it would be otherwise). Except even better.

Not surprised at all that this episode is the one that's gotten the most comments so far. How can you stay quiet after watching something like that?

Damn a whole episode for the stage play and they surely did great, Melt's development at the end was especially good after getting a bit of his backstory and how he feels seems like he surpassed himself, the animation at the very end though... that was stunning!!! really loved it

very well-done underdog subplot

dunno how to feel abt a stage play relying so much on dazzling visuals and physical stunts (pulled by the actors themselves in person) tho. it's entertaining as hell, sure, just not what I'd expect from a stage play. let's see how the mc will show off his outstanding acting skills next (I hope it's not a series of physically improbable stunts surrounded by fireworks)

Melt has surprised even Yoriko-sensei with his efforts to get better but I hope he continues to try to improve and does not get complacent. Knowing that you are the worst person in the room at something really sucks and is a big motivator for those who have not given up on themselves.

Just like what the others have said, this is definitely the best episode so far!

The day of the Tokyo Blade stage play has finally arrived! They have all practiced many times, how will it turn out? Let's see!

Anyways, there is something we can learn from the success story of the actor who plays Kizami, Melt Narushima. Melt's career in showbiz began with a show called "Sweet Today". There, Melt was considered a "burden", a "destroyer" of the story. Therefore, he was actually "hated" by various parties, including the author of "Sweet Today".

Maybe we are often considered bad by people around us. We shouldn't immediately accept our fate that we are bad, etc., but rather we should use it as motivation to be better.

During half of the Tokyo Blade stage play, Melt was still said to be acting badly. Well, this poor acting is actually used as an advantage. He did something "mind blowing" so that people's views of him turned 180°. This is something we need to learn from Melt!

That visual depiction of Melt's journey, thoughts, or whatever you call it was amazing. Loved the part where he got sucked into space, depicting the period where he truly delved into the world of acting and discovering his own liabilities. Beautiful redemption episode

Tokyo Blade play began. Raida discusses about Kizami with Lalalai’s Kaburagi, as he suggested him, and mentioned that he would be growing up as an actor. He has high expectations of Kizami.

Kizami took advice from Aqua and did his best for the one big scene. Everyone got impressed after his performance, including Abiko.

Kizami thanks Aqua for it, saying it was fun. But will Aqua find acting fun?

The Tokyo Blade play has started and it's going really well! Melt's character arc has been done justice and all it took was 1 minute of his hard work in mastering that frustration to wow both the audience inside the show and out!

They really gave melt some shine with how insane the artwork was. Very unexpected but very awesome!

Wow! This episode was absolutely breathtaking, I kept rooting for Melt. I loved seeing his character development, especially considering Aqua gave him that little push to enjoy the play himself and to preform better as well. I truly enjoyed his little “arc”

I had my scepticism for this arc I be honest but it’s been truly incredible so far! I am really excited to see the rest of the episodes, by now I’m convinced those will be incredible too >.<
