This left me feeling so satisfied. I remember it being said somewhere that Snake(Roald) would have his own side story. Hope they release that soon.

what an arc, can't believe it's almost over. Thorfinn becoming more like his father  inspiring many characters throughout the season. Didn't expect the series to go in this direction, but it couldn't be better. sad we won't see anymore of snake.

Very, very good. One of the best seasons of anime ever made, it touched on the kindness and beauty of life in constrast to the message of season 1. Thorfinn and Einar's characters are very strong, determined, and kind - to the point where they take on the burden of the world and try to embark on a journey of life and joy, being forged by their painful pasts and sacrifices.

Much better episode than the last two. As an anime-only viewer, I do not think Canute will get away with playing the peaceful king for very long. People like Floki and Thorgil are always going to exist, and they're always going to crave conquest and bloodshed for their own reasons.
Well, considering Canute the Great is a historical figure, he pretty much will get away with it. I doubt they will change the way his life goes, since the show's been historically accurate so far.

Amazing anime and story, beautiful and sad, nothing else to say !

I know its not the last episode, but it can be, ep1 to now, the musics and sound are amazing, the ambiance and pauses too, you really get the atmosphere
Thorfinn really grew up
Everyone making the Farmland joke, yes but that doesnt mean its bad, we have a big change of tone in the characters

I wonder whats next, are they gonna find or build the Vinland ? :o

Honestly feels like the season should have just ended there. I don’t think I even really want another episode to just set up season 3 because it’s all wrapped up right where it is.

It's hard to put into words how incredible this episode was.

Since Canute gave Thorfinn the choice, I wasn't quite sure how Thorfinn would respond or if he might even have an ace up his sleeve that no one knew about. That he would just run away in such a case sounds simple and extremely surprising. Especially after what Thorfinn endured in the first place to stand before Canute. Still, he's well aware that if peaceful negotiations don't work, there's no other way to stop Canute.

You could tell that Canute, too, was absolutely perplexed by this kind of answer. That's why his laugh is somehow understandable. Who would come before the king to tell him these words? It's almost unreal. At the same time it's great to see that the long struggling Thorfinn has finally found his true purpose. He also wants to create a paradise for the people who cannot live in Canute's world. Both may have different worldviews, use different methods, and yet in a way they have the same intentions. Of course, Thorfinn's power is incomparable to Canute's, and yet he was able to peacefully persuade the king to leave the farm. This, in turn, reflects the tremendous respect Canute has for him.

Through the little conversation with Wulf and his subsequent decisions, it becomes clear again what a great influence Thorfinn must have had on Canute. Their reunion has undoubtedly made Canute grow as a person and as a king.

Another beautiful and powerful scene opened up for us with the conversation between Thorfinn and Einar, which again showed the strong bond the two share. As Thorfinn has come to realize, it's incredibly difficult to give a person hope to hold on to life when all they've known and experienced is hell and longs for nothing more than release through death. Almost everyone naturally wants to live in a peaceful place. Far away from war, violence and slavery. It may be a difficult road ahead for Thorfinn and Einar, but I'm sure that with each other's support, one day they will either find such a peaceful place (Vinland) or create it themselves, so that they can proudly tell Arnheid about it one day. Their handshake and the OST playing in the background only made this moment even stronger.

The conclusion towards the end was wonderful. It's one of the things I love most about anime, even though there's usually something bittersweet about these types of farewells. Although surprised, I was glad to see Pater still being alive. Along with Thorfinn, Olmar was one of the characters who underwent the biggest positive character change, which was reflected tremendously in his words towards Thorfinn. Sverkel may not be fully aware, but he served as one of Thorfinn's life savers. Though a great scene, it was only logical that Thorfinn and Einar both would thank him appropriately for everything. Also a neat gesture from Snake, or rather Roald, to reveal his real name to Thorfinn and Einar after all.
I also love the tremendous change we were able to see on the farm afterwards. Everyone, whether Olmar, Roald or whoever else, works hard in the fields and tries to restore the farm to its former glory as quickly as possible. Hopefully this peace will last for them for a long time.

Unbelievable that we're actually at the last episode. I'm by no means ready for it as I can imagine how emotional it will get with Thorfinn finally coming "home".

Wow just wow where do I even start with this episode well first off we'll start with the negotiation between Thorfinn and Canute I was fully expecting this to go south after last episode (Sweyn constantly breathing down his neck).

but all my worries were swept away when Thorfinn said that if Canute decides to continue to pillage the farm then he'll just run away back to Iceland which caught me off guard but what caught me the most off guard was seeing Canute laughing and on top of that he actually called off the army and left the farm and made an effort to make peaceful relations with other countries which warmed my heart I'm so happy the old Canute I know and love is back.

Now the last half of the episode was beautiful because it was time for Thorfinn and Einar to leave for Iceland and let me tell man I'm gonna miss these guys, after everything we've been through with these characters it feels like we're a family but alas we must depart and I loved that got closure for Olmar see him thank Thorfinn and saying he want to be like him made proud of him we also got to hear Snake reveal his true name as Roald, Son Of Grim (awesome name)

And with that the Farmland Saga has come to an end and it will be carved into my soul for a very long time.

Frickin beautiful episode idk what anyone says. I'm glad the meeting with Canute ended cordial and had a little light heartedness (so much better than I expected). The scene with Einer, Thorfinn, and Arnheid's grave was beautiful. I liked watching Olmar's character development. Nice to meet you Roald. I need to prepare for the next episode.

This was amazing. I absolutely loved every episode thus far and this episode was nothing short of great. I also think Arnheid is not only her own person of course whom Einar loved and were friends of everyone else, but was also a representation of all the innocents that died along the way. So it's fitting for them to say imo that they'll do it for Arnheid.

The conclusion to this amazing arc was perfect. The OSTs throughout the episode were phenomenal too, especially during Canute and Thtorfin's negotiation. I love how Mappa postponed the handshake scene between Einar and Throfinn and included it in such an ideal part of the arc. I LOVE THIS SHOW and this is probably one of my favourite arcs in all animanga.

The most difficult peace proposal to believe.

“If the place does not exist, I will create it myself! Brother, come with me.”
It was incredible to see the development and conclusion of these two incredible characters, who, with such divergent ideas, reached a consensus, consideration, and respect. The king's change of countenance was such a relaxed, genuine reaction, just like ours. King Canute, despite having adverse ideals, was definitely an excellent antagonist and friend to Thorffin.
Nor could I fail to mention the important relationship of friendship and brotherhood built between Einar and Thorffin over the course of this vast arc. This bond completely changed the protagonist, having a strong impact on the way he saw the world.

A Masterpiece of an episode.
Are you really excited for Season 3? Balatic Sea War is the worst arc in the series.
Just because it´s the worst one does not mean its not good. At least the folks who complained about how little action there was this season will have a decent meal for next season lol

So those who have read the manga. What is your thoughts on the change they made with Thorfinn not having a swollen face from all of the punches he received? Do you think it makes it better or worse for the conext of the scenes and the realism of injuries?

Agreed. I feel like you couldn't have done the swollen face deal with how they changed the order of events. The handshake of power over Arnheid's grave had too much weight and emotional gravitas to have that kind of comedy happening at the same time.

The power of that infamous "talk no jutsu" not only can save the day, but even allow a ruler to grow. Kinda meh moment, reminding me of Naruto, but whatever. It's not like this show never had any shounen-like elements.

Apart from that, good episode. I'm glad that we got a happy ending. Sure, many people died in this short conflict, but look how many could be saved. Pater is alive, Snake and his men found tranquility (and at least in Snake's case, he ceased to be ashamed of his real name), Thorfinn left to his homeland with Leif and Einar on the board. Really heartwarming ending of this arc.

One episode left.

Adnash dude, I have to point this out since it's recurring in almost all your posts for this show.
You say that you "don't mind the shounen elements" because you're used to them in Vinland Saga, but you're constantly mentioning them. That sorta sounds like to me that you don't like the shounen elements?
