But anyways, I'm just going to say titles with weird or unorthodox stories and had used romance nicely as a theme, or sub-plot on some because it's hard to find series with those kind of heroine. Arakawa Under the Bridge, Higashi no Eden, Bakemonogatari, Nodame Cantabile,Planetes, Girl who leapt through time, Kara no Kyoukai, Welcome to NHK!, Tatami Galaxy. I guess those are enough. Just a random shot here if you're truly into romance - you should watch Makoto Shinkai's movies that are not just about love but also coming of age namely: 5 centimeters per second, the place promised in our early days, hoshi ou kodomo and Voice of the distant star. |

I haven't seen any other shows that focus so exclusively on a character's intellect like those do, but it looks like Gosick might do just that (I haven't seen it yet). From what I have seen though, there's some similarity with: Giant Killing (genius manager that uses unexpected tactics) Level E (trickster playing elaborate games/pranks for his own enjoyment) Great Teacher Onizuka (delinquent teacher using "street smarts" or "people smarts") Monster (brain surgeon forced to be on the run, using guerrilla tactics, like 'The Bourne Identity') You haven't seen the 2nd season of Spice and Wolf, so that would be a bit similar too. |
