Everyone was saying how great and deep it was. When I got around to watching it I was disappointed at how shallow everything about the show was.

Generally I enjoy anime with artsy animation but Madoka was just dull and pretentious.

Easily 'Tokyo Ghoul √A' by a mile.

2nd place goes to 'Rokka no Yuusha'. I enjoyed the show but for some reason I thought the mystery was going to be a bit more interesting/clever.

I was scotched to my screen when I watched the first season of Psycho-Pass.

While I literally slept when I was watching the 2nd season, that I expected to be way better than it actually is.

Boku was gai no tomodachi ...or something.
I'm not good with names.
I wanted it to be not what it actually is and something else entirely. Such potential....

Ohh..and also One Punch Man
I'll give it a 7/10
Only first few and the last few episodes were worth watching. And it's not like I hate action, I liked fate zero and some other action series.

Elfen Lied.

I don't get it. People lose their minds for this anime and I just... Bech. I can't sit through it. I think the dialogue is what throws me off the most. It all sounds like someone had a good idea for a story and was so excited to get it done that it was pushed through to animation before the script was completed. I don't know. I gave it a fair shot, and honestly, could not even MAKE myself enjoy it.

CA arc in HxH. The genius of meruem and komugis development doesnt make up for that awful narrator and terrible first half. Kite and gons relationship was hardly developed so gons anger just did not feel as satisfying as it should have.

HxH still a 9 cause York New a true masterpiece though

OPM I guess. Not bad by any means but lol at its rating. The funny moments are hilarious but they arent that common bc of the slow paced anticlimactic setup.

Tokyo Ghoul and Ghost in The Shell were somewhat disappointing to me.
Tokyo Ghoul just felt like not enough was happening. Kaneki had that problem with being a half ghoul and half human, to me it just felt they didn't really expanded on it the way I wanted to. Tokyo Ghoul was pretty average, I don't know why some think it's great.
Ghost in The Shell, as much as I liked the characters, art and the music, I just feel like the questions that it asked about what makes a human were forced out of the character's mouths. I feel like everything was kind of predictable in terms of the questions and philosophical themes to me.

lol what? That makes no sense...you like shows with artsy animation (which Madoka has) but then you say you disliked it because of the plot of the show.

That's like saying "I usually like shows with big explosions but the writing was terrible for the Transformers", not to say that you can't like one and not the other but it seems like something pointless to put together in the same sentence?

Attack on Titan...
I heard so many good things about it, I mean at first it looked really great. The Titans looked amazing at first. But then they kind of... I don't know, looked like retarded babies. And the story was also very 'capturing' for the first "arc" of the season. And then it turned so incredibly slow for many episodes before it finally picked up again at the point where I had lost most interest.
Would have been a nice show if the pacing was a little better however.
Watch it, Or I'll shank your nan - I swear on me mum.

Nagi no Asukara

I read the synopsis and thought that it sounded awesome. But aside from the sound and art, along with a two great episodes in the middle, it was anything BUT awesome. The dreadfully written teenage romantic melodrama and the unbearably stupid and annoying cast of characters COMPLETELY overshadowed the incredibly interesting subplot which was barely explored at all!

And then there are Charlotte and Toradora. The first halves of these two anime were great! But by the second half, they both just start to fall apart. (In Toradora's case it's because of unneeded, unenjoyable melodrama (And I suppose I could say the same thing about Your Lie In April, but to a much lesser extent because the rest of the show is absolutely PHENOMENAL), and in Charlotte's case, it was because they tried to cram 20+ episodes worth of material into the last 5 episodes, 9-13). These two are not bad shows, but they managed to ruin themselves and keep them from being 9s or 10s.

And yet you gave it a 10. Awkward......

In terms of my most disappointing Chinese cartoon, I have to say Comet Lucifer. This show looked like a decent light hearted albeit fairly generic mecha series, and for the first few episodes it was this. The point that killed me though was the last few episodes, as well as how the story was structured. The story was repetitive, kept shifting genres, barely explained a damn thing, and the characters turned out to be people I could give less of a fuck about (Except for Do Mon, who is also the only major character to die). Ironically enough, the show was best when it wasn't focused on its main story. Also the ending makes very little sense. This is the first anime I had to cut its score in half, going from a 6 in its first half to a 3 when it ended. I usually never do that with airing shows. (Though this season may prove me wrong)

Definitely this! I like the premise of CL but it was horribly executed and most of the characters were just so damn boring and generic. Maybe if it had been longer they could have made it better.

Honestly i though mahouka koukou no rettousei was a bit disappointing, i really wanted to like it, but at one point i just didnt care anymore. MC was an op siscon who was more of a godlike machine, and aside from one or two, I didnt care for the characters at all. Not to mention a plot that was either confusing at times or nonexistent... I guess it was better around the ending but idk, i feel like they just brought it down, idk this is all imo, just wasnt a very memorable anime. Great setting tho

I feel the big obvious one should be Sword Art Online. That's what happens when you have roughly 3 episodes worth of start, 1 episode worth of ending and then the rest is just filler. Then you add a second half because you figure you can milk more money out of it that way, only to make it even worse.

But like EA, just because the horse you've been beating has stopped moving and everyone is mad at you for killing it, you beat that hell out of it and make a second series but this time you add in bigger guns!

Lets make one thing clear people. SAO is bad. SAO is bad because it was a disappointment. It could have easily been a good if not great series, but all character development and story progression was replaced with a shitty romance and a half baked harem. Even the action scenes don't excuse this and the music isn't even that great. Visually, the characters are actually rather plain and its only the sky box that threatens to get interesting.

Still, because we have a innate desire to get super hyped when the music starts rolling and an epic boss battle appears, fools may find themselves praising it as worth more than a pile of pretty turds.
There’s no such thing as miracles, only the inevitable, the accidental
and the things we do.

For me, it's obviously Tokyo Ghoul. I had no idea why people hyped that show so much to the point where Kaneki fan-arts were totally flooding my anime drawing group on Facebook. So I expected TG as a great show. But what did I get after watching it? Nothing but an utter disappointment of how mediocre TG actually is, along with the worst Ken ever.

Glasslip - I watched this one soon after finishing Nagi no Asukara, which I really enjoyed, and so I had high expectations for Glasslip, which quickly fell flat as I realized that there was no plot or character development to speak of. And I spent the months leading up to its release all hyped for it, only to be disappointed ;w;

Death Parade - Loved the first episode, thought next episodes would be similar, with questioning of human morals, but although it was interesting to see how they delved into the lives of the Arbiters [ is that what they called them? ], the entire path followed seemed to end in no resolution, and they spent a lot of time leading up to something big that never was concluded.

Nagato Yuki-chan no Shoushitsu - The Haruhi franchise was great and I thought it will be a decent spin-off but damn, it was really painful to watch mostly. Not only did they completely mess up the characters but also didn't come up with an interesting story at all.

Hidan no Aria AA - The original series was decent so I had hopes that it's going to be entertaining. But it ended up being really boring mostly filled with badly done SoL and any development of characters or story wasn't paid attention to. The end was cringeworthy.

Muv-Luv Alternative: The first two episodes were outstanding and the first third was fairly decent but it went downhill so fast and became one of the worst trainwrecks I've seen. The second half was painful to watch.

Shinsekai Yori. Everyone hailed it as a masterpiece, and while I liked it, there were just too many problems for it to love up to the hype. Flat exposition, pretty boring main characters, inconsistent art. I also hated the plot twist at the end.
