Very long backstory for that Akaza dude, could be shorter, like its only 2 chapter, and yet they stretch it for a solid 40min. |

This film was worth watching in IMAX and the theater was super packed for the English dub version. The biggest surprise for me was when everybody was cheering when Zenitsu was on the screen especially when he beat the Upper Six demon. The Akaza vs. Ginyu/Tanjiro was the longest fight I had to sit through thanks to the lengthy backstory, but this made Akaza the most well written antagonist more than the main antagonist Muzan. The way Akaza finally chooses his humanity over his never ending desire to get stronger almost made me cry. Two Upper Moon demons down, two more to go in the Infinity Castle arc. Can't wait to see the fights against the Upper Moons One and Two. RIP Shinobu, she put up a decent fight against Upper Two demon, but it wasn't enough. |

Shinobu's fight was brillient. On paper it's actually not that well written of a fight but the voice actress behind Shinobu carried the entire fight on her back. The despair and hatred she channeled into her role really sold the atmosphere and outcome of it and the upper two demon played along well. The pacing of the fight and the typical backstory stuff was brief and to the point as well. Zenitsu's fight was tolerable but also forgettable. Akaza fight was a trainwreck. Don't get me wrong, the backstory for Akaza was gut-wrenchingly good, and the fight between Giyu/Tanjiro and Akaza was great too. But the problem was the placement of the flashbacks/backstory of Akaza and the fight. It made the whole experience feel drawn out and it feels like both instances interrupted each other too much in terms of tension and mood. I genuinely wish all the backstories and flashbacking took place during the waste of time hashira training arc so we had more a more cohesive fight here. Oh well. |

Great visuals, good music. This time the other cinema brand was prepared for high volume seiyuu performance as JJK0 almost ripped off my ear drums. I felt kinda sorry to one girl whom was sitting on my right with Shinobu's haori. Akaza flashbacks were great, although I would place them in different timing as the fight got way too extended, I feel like it would be way better for better placement with finishing it off with that clean strike of Tanjiro. Zenitsu's stuff was also good. So far I'd say personally it is around 8/10 I hope the next 2 will be on the same - better level. |

Just finished it like 20mins ago. When I first heard they do 3 movies I was kind of livid. Like how could the movie experience work, especially in 3 movies, I know they are not gonna give time for the emotional parts to sink in. they really did that for shinobu's part but they did a fantastic job for akaza's back story so I'm kinda conflicted on how I stand on this. Like Ufotable can make it work, but you can tell they want to show off all the flashy fights. The sounds, music and voice acting is fucking top notch especially akaza at the end If I could wipe my memory and experience it again, I would. 9.5/10 |

@Goukenslay No idea, it didn't look like those cheap versions which often are used for convention as it was well done and in mine it was only one person. I'd say the first part of the movie wasn't that positive for them x) |

Overall it was solid, not amazing. Definitely had some gripes of the movie like all of the flashbacks bringing the pace to a halt. Unfortunately I did not feel anything during the Akaza flashback and that bummed me out because I really wish I was in ann emotional state to empathize and care, but it was fine. I think it will hit harder for me if I watch that flashback at a future point in time. There were two instances they just did still frames instead of animating the action and that was a bit disappointing. My favorite part was the Zenitsu fight and that redeemed his character for me until he starts yelling like a pig again. |

Just watched in theatres. I can't believe how long the film was. Even like half the ending credits rolled while stuff was still goin on. I haven't read the manga up to this so it was all new to me. I was already expecting someone to die and Shinobu was the most obvious pick considering she can't behead demons as they mentioned way back in season1. I also just can't see using poison to beat an upper moon, let alone #2. I was just surprised how her death was, being crushed by a hold then consumed. I figured they at least have her body but nope. At least Doma absorbed her so we didn't have to witness her body be further desecrated if he had torn her limb by limb. Zenitsu's moment was probably the weakest part of the major fights this movie and not because of him but rather the one he was facing. Such an absolutely boring one dimensional villain from start to his very end. The Tanjiro and Giyu versus Akaza segment was so long and that was mostly because of his backstory. I can't say I was the biggest fan of how Tanjiro was able to behead him but whatever, the movie still made the entirety of the fight cool. I wasn't too touched with Akaza's backstory but it defintely did have more screentime than I expected. The only part were I kind of teared up was when the crows announced Shinobu's death and then see Tanjiro and Giyu hear about it. The visuals and animation was an absolute spectacle. There were a few slideshowey moments here and there but the sheer amount of just amazing action scenes for the 2 hour film completely outweigh anything else.. This isn't really a complaint but there sure was a lot flashblacks in the movie, like half the film was probably flash backs. Anyone watching the series this far should expect it by now but seeing it on the big screen sure felt different than watching smaller segments like TV size episodes. Overall, amazing watch. Excited for the next movie in who knows how many years. |

I have my misgivings about them doing this arc as a trilogy of movies rather than just doing a TV season, but the benefit of seeing this in movie format is being able to experience Demon Slayer in IMAX. Truly an experience fr. RIP Shinobu, Zenitsu holding it down while actually being awake was dope, but the highlight of the movie was, to no surprise, the Akaza stuff. That part really took up pretty much the entire 2nd half of the movie 😭 but man was it peak. Loved his backstory, that was definitely my favorite of the many flashbacks we saw in this movie. That was one of my main gripes though, we got a LOT of flashbacks. I get why they're there, but it interrupted the action a lot. It is what it is though. Also still not, and never have been, a fan of the screaming comedy moments. But the main positives were, obviously, the animation and action, which makes sense since we're in the action-packed endgame, and DS has always excelled in those areas. The visuals for the Infinity Castle blew my mind, we never got anything even remotely detailed like that in the manga. Zenitsu's finishing blow, and all of the action surrounding Akaza, Giyu, and Tanjiro went incredibly hard. Demon Slayer also has great sound, which I feel like isn't talked about that much, and it being IMAX-enhanced had me feeling that shit in my chest at times lol. I also appreciated them adding some action scenes for the lesser-featured Hashira so they could at least have more cool moments. A great movie overall and I'm excited for part 2 so we can see probably the series' best fight adapted. |

After a long drive home, I’m finally back from the theatre lol. It wasn’t packed like I thought it would be, but I think it’s because it’s not a big town and I chose the subbed version, when most probably saw it dubbed, but hey that meant me and the pal I saw it with pretty much got to see it in a room to ourselves, no complaints there lol. But since I’m tried af, I’m gonna keep it short. The movie BANGED, so damn good man. Ufotable knew the assignment and cooked as they always do, but even more so with the movie scale, of course they did that once before with Mugen Train but this was even more grand. Now while I did love it, I don’t think it was perfect, my main and pretty much only complaint is that the flashbacks were just a tad too much, like I wasn’t expecting Akaza’s backstory to be a third of the movie lol, I mean it was really good but I do think it could’ve been cut down a bit, maybe some of the other flashback scenes too. But yeah I can’t believe it but they got me to like Akaza, yeah he’s still a bastard for what he did to Rengoku but I really liked his life story, it’s such a shame the life he coulda had with his beautiful wife and kind master couldn’t be a reality. Also, RIP Shinobu, I’ve actually known she dies since like 2019 or 2020 because I got spoiled, but to finally see how it happens all these years later was very cool, didn’t ruin the fight at all for me. But man what a bastard Douma is, all smiles and laughing while he does terrible shit, it hurt to see Kanao in rough shape too, I can’t wait to see this guy get done in, however long it takes for another movie to come out lol. And Zenitsu man, what a badass, to think this is the same silly lad from the earlier seasons, really glad he managed to do his grandpa justice, a shame he couldn’t make Kaigaku see the error of his ways but I guess they don’t all go down with closure. And lastly, love to finally hear LiSA doing a Demon Slayer song again, Aimer’s song was really good too but LiSA is the OG, I hope she sticks around for the other movies too. Alright I guess this post still turned out kinda long but trust me, there’s a lot more I could say lol. But yeah man, such a good time, can’t wait for the next film, maybe in the meantime I’ll rewatch all of Demon Slayer since I’ve only seen each entry when they were coming out weekly. Also, weird how MAL has all three movies under one entry, I don’t really like that, hope it gets changed eventually. |

Visually speaking that was definitely the best spectacle I've seen in anime. But with that out of the way I do have to congratulate them for two things. One is that for the most part they could create tense moments, which was my main concern around S1. Part of it is due to soundtrack using brass and some rock elements. But the other reason is also the second thing which is they didn't dragged scenes as much. Was tempted to give this entire package a 8/10 but couldn't for a few reasons. First is although it isn't as dragged, it's still not as well paced as most stories. Also since this is clearly meant to be a Season you feel exhausted by the end of it. Way too many story arcs happening without a break. But main reason is still it's childish as fuck. Which is funny since on Japan it's rated Pg 12 while here in Brazil it was rated 18+ and kids couldn't go in. Anyway don't feel awful this movie specifically is gonna become the biggest success in anime worldwide. But I still prefer it was other shows that were more competent |

I really underestimated how much Akaza was going to be a highlight of the series. Insane fight, great backstory, and the way his death was a suicide reclaiming his humanity from Muzan is a really fitting way to sell the themes of the series. |

I haven't seen s2 or s3 lmao but I watched the movie since ive read the manga years ago And the visuals were pretty crisp on the big screen which is great Some parts felt repetitive (do we really need that many scenes of the son drawing the map of the castle? Do we really need verbal confirmation for everything a character is doing? Did that tanjirou father flashback really need to be that long?) But the akaza part was really great. The fight was cool with the fire, water, snowflake effects. The hits had weight, the speed felt fast (though we did not need the characters saying "hes fast!" so much), the team up was nice. Also, I expected the akaza backstory to move me and it really did... the only part of the movie that I really cried to... reaffirmed that akaza is my favorite character from demon slayer for a reason... koyuki was so sweet too... |

Watched it yesterday. It doesn't feel like an actual movie, but like a compilation of episodes instead. Ufo went "fuck it" with the 3d backgrounds, which is good on one side: their best and most complex use of 3d cgi so far in KNY. It really gives off the feeling of an endless and always moving place. On the other hand, it fucked up the already bad 2d+3d blend in the series. Not to mention the screen ratio, it was probably made in 16:9, I watched in a small cinema room which doesn't have an IMAX screen, it's probably the standard 2.39.1 and the movie had 2 black bars on the sides. I think the pictures below might prove my theory right. Pics I took from the credits scene |

the flashbacks were even more than the usual. I feel like they could have done a better job to ingrate them in the fights. They felt unbearable at some point. In the manga they are easy to digest, but not here. Still, great movie. Akaza’s fight was really amazing |

Having known a bit of the manga the movie didnt hit as hard but it was enjoyable. With that said, the movie dragged on way too long with the fights literally being interrupted every few minutes. I cant blame the adaptation because thats how the manga is and why the infinity castle arc is so controversial. It hits you hard with great animation and visuals as always and then takes everything away to give you a flashback. Genuinely not a movie worth chapter of the arc. I couldve seen this better in a normal 11 episode season with that painfully long but emotional Akaza backstory as a final 40 minute episode to the season. Fortunately the next movies should be better in terms of material |
