While I'm not a huge fan of it in real life, autumn is easily the coolest season. (I mean cool as in hip not cool as in temperature.) There's just so much you can do with it aesthetically, symbolically and thematically. A show set during this time frame would will most likely have "mono no aware".
play shadowhearts, it has that fall gothic atmosphere to it.

Summer always. Not just 'break from skool' interludes but more sunshine and huge clouds and heatwaves. It would be great to see more portrayals of thunderheads forming lightning storms; or 100 degree heatwaves.. wear a bikini to the bus stop ^_^
The season of shorts and bare feet and long shadows, and the sound of those crickets they put in sometimes are romantic. I know there' plenty of summer portrayals in anime, but there can never be enough

i've had the Anime Works U.S. DVD edition of that since new.

an unusual OVA series, fairly permeated with this peculiar sort of "Throwback" feel all about it, despite it's 1999 release date.
one thing for sure; they don't make anything quite like it anymore...

There's also sentimental graffiti also animated by sunrise too and similar concept plotwise i've seen last week or so and yeah old anime really hits different and we can certainly use something like ouran making a comeback.

Probably gonna be the most boring answer here, but I'm gonna go with fall

Summer and winter are way too overused and spring is just the most boring season IRL, IMO, so I can't really imagine any plots involving a series being set specifically in the springtime

winter just because it be the best season and it feels like im outside

but i dont really see winter animes or im just blind who knows
Timebomb420 said:
Winter, for sure. Frozen, snowy places are extremely visually pleasing for me and I think they make for great animation. Also, holidays during this time of the year are an essential element. I wanna see more of the Japanese perception of Christmas, but also whatever traditional holidays they have there as well. Some cultural exchange is always welcome in my view.
Phlaryx said:
I feel that summer has been over represented in anime at this point. Spring is a close second. I just wanna see more snow in anime lol. And not just for a little bit either. I want an anime centered around winter.
Catalano said:
I would love to see more winter setting anime, not because of christmas or anything but because I see there are so few of them, that eternal spring-summer is kinda boring. erased was awesome being set in winter.
KryzakamiHrybami said:
Winter. It snows 8 months per year where I live so I relate a lot with this climate. It's also my favourite season since there is no annoying creatures outside like bugs and shirtless douchebags.
Lucifrost said:
Kanon is the only winter anime I can think of, and I believe that's one of the reasons it's my favorite Jun Maeda anime. Kanon and Air are the only Key anime that make meaningful use of their respective seasons.
PleasantDevil said:
Winter for sure. I just want a romance anime that takes place during winter. In anime it always seems to be spring/summer/autumn but hardly ever winter.
zxrk said:
I appreciate the effort put into the post OP, my pick is winter cuz the clothes.
JustMonaka said:
Winter. I love white-light blue color scheme and snow is just that. Plus, I prefer cold over hot myself.
IndigoBangarang said:
I enjoy seeing all seasons, but winter is definitely underrepresented in anime. Most shows only have a New Years episode and then they skip right to spring. I would like to see more winter episodes, especially late winter. Hyouka was nice in that aspect, it had a wintry Valentines Day episode. Also more shows set in a colder/snowier part of Japan would be nice.
SuzieQuatro said:
I'd like to see something that utilizes the longer nights of the winter season somehow, with how early it gets dark. Of course I have no idea how, it's just a thought I had.
kidss said:
Winter season ofc... always contains a good anime that can fill our boring when holiday period is coming.
MechKingKillbot said:
I'd go for winter setting, but I would prefer if they don't use the season for celebrating holidays. I much rather they not waste episodes and use the setting for atmosphere (i.e. desolate) and tone emphasis. Also winter settings tend to bring more tragic/intense/conflict kind of stories which makes it more interesting.
Adimus_prime said:
Winter because it is my favorite season and I think fresh white snow is absolutely beautiful.
ManWild said:
All the seasons have strengths and parts I like about them but Winter would be the choice for me. It's always snowing and/or cold for the pretty large majority of the year where I live so I usually tend to enjoy winter settings and episodes. I can't properly describe it but it just gives off a nice feeling.
Yatsura said:
Winter easily! Spring and summer are heavily represented already. Give me snow, cold weather, bundled up characters, runny noses, everything! It’s not my favorite season in real life by any means, but I absolutely love its aesthetic.
Monochrosanity said:
As an Australian I revere anything that has snow in it. So I’d love to see more anime set in solely snowy or mountainous environments.
Tap_Dancin_Kaiju said:
I want more autumn and winter seasons in anime. Autumn because I can't name many I've seen using the season. Winter because most anime I've seen that use it are able to somehow make it haunting, beautiful, & festive depending on what they're going for. Totally different vibe to spring environments.
mr_modest said:
I prefer winter all the way. It's a major reason I loved Erased. Winter has that cold feel to it.
takamono said:

Winter. Nothing looks more beautiful than snow. Gimme more snow!
Joshhhp said:
The sweet breeze of winter is my favorite environment especially after seeing Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushitsu, I also enjoy watching anime the most during this season
Acctra said:
Definitely winter. I think it'd be cool to get not just slice of life shows set in winter, but also to get more serious shows set in winter.
Really, I'd just like to see a slice of life or CGDCT anime have more than half an episode dedicated to Christmas.
Aritabias said:
Winter because it doesn't snow where I live. I find anime with snow/winter episodes like Erased, Disappearance of Haruhi more memorable.
Goatee said:
Winter, something about snowfall esp at nighttime is beautiful whether it be anime or real life imo
purplemoon_ said:
As much as i despise winter, it looks pretty in anime with the snow scenery. Besides, there already seems to be more than enough summer centered shows

Now you're wondering why I just quoted a ton of you and your old posts—long time no chat by the way.

It's cuz I feel like it's been many years long ago that we should do some kind of review! To any of you watching seasonals/new anime still, has there been any new anime that was set in the winter season? (or hell, even fall/autumn since that was the second most popular choice in this thread even after the poll closed)

Has winter finally been represented in enough media?!?!? Are you satisfied?
