The reason why she picked 100 is to prove FT's power, which is why they're in the competition in the first place. Challenging 51 exactly means that she wants to get the bare minimum to win, and Erza being you know.. Erza wants to do it hardcore. Another great episode, the anime quality for this arc is really really great so far, I can't even imagine the awesomeness that is Day 5 in anime form! |

| So loved Natsu vs. Gemma fight! And finally Minerva appears. Kinda do not like her voice, although nice to see her in color. Also, it is great to see Erza doing something that outrageous. I love how all the audience are surprised while Natsu and Gray are just laughing! Can't wait a show of Erza's armors! |

| 2 complaints though 1. No new opening? PFFFFTT 2. Minerva is fcking ugly here. What happened to her radiant violet hair in the manga? Her face is quite awful here ugh |

| I thought the epic Erza-ness would be this episode, but they really are dragging this arc out. Not that I'm complaining :P Natsu was amazing and it's about time for Sabertooth to recognize Fairy Tail for its power and bonds. Erza? I had a feeling that she would pick something crazy like 50 monsters or 100. When she did though? Shivers ran through me and now I'm really anxious for the next episode! I think she'll probably beat it eventually, but she'll need a strategy. And Natsu and Gray laughing? Typical Fairy Tail. They find it amusing and while they could be somewhat worried, they know Erza. And she's got this. Anyway, as always, Fairy Tail's just awesome. |

FT is getting good. |

Most of the anime fights so far have been quite close to the manga and haven't had that extra special something yet. Erza challenges challenges 100 to show her own determination and Fairy Tail's strength. And the reason Mashima got Erza to challenge 100 and not just 51 is in the spoiler below for those who don't read the manga: My favourite episode will be next week if the anime does it justice. ( ^ _ ^ ) |

It does not have the same effect, depending how they distribute the "ranking points" for Pandemomium. If erza would kill 51, than she would take first place, however the other 49 monsters can then be distributed amongst the other guilds. This means that there would be a 2nd, 3rd, etc.. 1st would get 10 points, 2nd would get 8 points. When Erza kills all 100, it will effectively tie all the other guilds. Meaning they all share 2nd place, or most likely all share 8th place netting them 0 ranking points. |

I don't read the manga so of course I wouldn't know if it's something like that, but if Erza beats all 100 monsters, then everyone else beat 0, meaning everyone except Erza would be in last place which would mean that Fairy Tail A gets 10 points and every other guild gets 0 points. If she took 51 monsters, then the others could have scored again which would lead to normal score distribution and FT A would not really reduce the arrears to the other teams. That would be the only reason I see besides showing off. :P |

| Considering how close to the manga it is and also the fact i would love to see Erza tear it up showing off just how strong fairy tail are, this would be the perfect place to add filler. It was a wise decision for the studio to stretch this part out. |

| I like how everyone is like "NATSU IS SUCH A BOSS and yeah Erza's pretty cool too". Natsu wanted to take on one guy, Erza just said "all 100 will be my opponents". I think Erza wins for most badass factor in this episode. That seriously is one of my favorite scenes in the whole series. "It's not a challenge anymore. I will challenge all 100" So awesome. It's just one of those moments in anime that sorta leaves you speechless. Edit: @ Gash: That's disgusting and you should seriously be ashamed for that. Really? Come on dude. |

I just like the goddess Minerva is all. :3 Jellal is missing, MIA.. which is good considering the council is around no? I suppose there are spoilers to explain all of that though. |

| 1. Natsu is a badass. 2. Erza is a badass. 3. Every time one of them does something cool or awesome, I can't help but grin and laugh and clap my hands. I absolutely love it. 4. I'm so happy that Erza decided to take on 100 even though she could have just taken on 51 to win. It's not about winning, it's about showing the people watching who's boss and showing the true strength of Fairy Tail. Even if she loses, she's brave, and everyone will recognize FT's courageous guild members. 5. I get impatient with the pace, but I'm happy they're not rushing it. I love this arc so goddamn much, and I want it to last forever. EDIT 6: Doranbolt is sexy, idc what anyone says. Age treated him well. |
