| Now that the shitstorm has seemed to have subsided I decided to finally watch this show. It was actually pretty good for an opening episode. The background art is beautiful and I like the atmosphere. |
| After ignoring the whining here I am hoping for great things with this anime. The art is certainly not what I'm used to but I'm already adapting and the main character intrigues me. Onwards to episode 2! |

| That sure was strange especially that ending... the whole thing has an extremely slow pace, the first few minutes I already pumped it up to 1.80x the speed... The art other than the things that move is actually pretty decent and everything does has a dark atmosphere around it so well lets see what the story actually has to offer! |

| I actually love the art :( They actually look slightly more like real people than in most series lol. And I liked how they pretty much repeated the identical scenes of him walking to school, it shows how damn bored he probably is with school & most of life in general. Same thing every day. There's a great sense of foreboding to it too, I love this kind of thing! |

| The movement of the characters is so shitty, it has like 2fps. I think that the rotoscope effect is horrible, it even have shadows... (well it have but they are awfull) I think the shadows should be like this (just an example I made with PS, i know its bad):  I love the manga but the anime... i hope they make a remake. (Don't know why the f*** i cant put the image, but go to the link...) |

| I thought it was adapted well to be honest, BUT it would have been nice if they just animated it normally because I really liked the manga. Its a shame really, but I guess its not too bad if you just read the manga first and you're just watching this out of whim. (like me) |

| What's with the negativity on the animation? Sure it's creepy and weird to look at but it isn't all bad lol. I thought the plot was a bit blend and boring and unpredictable. The characters were decent but not interesting except for that redhaired girl who sits behind Kasuga in class. I thought she was awesome when she stood up to that teacher. Right now, I'm giving the pilot episode a 4 because idea of the rotoscaping and the sounds. One thing that creeps me throughout the entire episode was the ending theme. Like, WTF was that O_0... |

| not much going on but the atmosphere felt like shit storm is brewin' (rape and death) the animation very realistic which match the art style. wouldn't be surprised if they actually used real life people to animate some scenes. going to watch 2nd ep now b/c being called shit-face turns me on (yes semi-masochist) |

| Not that the style is bad, it just looks kind of unfinished or unpolished-- low frame count and faces just pop in. I feel like fixing those would go a long way. |

| Never seen anything quite like this. Unsettling undertone for sure. The voice acting is superb, very natural. I enjoyed it immensely. The ED is just asdfghkldsalsdkfg WOW, good. Actually made me smile out of sheer joy, that's how good it is. Personally I loved the animation. But then I only checked this out because someone on the forums said Ping Pong The Animation's animation reminded them of the rotoscope style here, so what the hell do I know. Guess I just love "ugly" things. |
| Also LMAO @ the score! First time I've ever seen a 1/5 score win the majority on MAL. Reading the reactions here is a trip. Though I actually love that Aku no Hana is serving mild Rite of Spring teas with its debut episode. Definitely making this a top priority now. |

| That motherfucking ending. This is so incredibly yes, under every aspect. The art may not be superb, but god I love it. Amazing voice acting and all. And, an anime that quotes that much Baudelaire is a must see, I cannot believe to have passed on this for so long. 5/5 |

| The animation really wasn't as bad as other people say. The characters looked quite realistic and their movements were fluent and realistic as well. I think that this kid is a reverse-weeb. Instead of being an American and being into Japanese culture and thinking that they are better than others for that, this kid is into European culture and he thinks he is better than his peers because of that. |

| I liked it. I get most people want something familiar. I haven't seen the manga. This had a lot of atmosphere. I like the way its scored too. That distorted static playing over kids walking to school is really effective. Took me a bit to get past the rotoscoped look. But once I accepted it, I was enjoying it. I'm going to keep watching. I bet you guys hate Ralph Bakshi that hate this. |

| I don't understand the shocked comments about the animation. If we compare the manga drawings with the anime adaption, of course they are different. So what? I find the characterisation very realistic. Anyway, this first chapter had a creepy atmosphere and looks promising. |

One of the most realistic animation I've seen, facial expressions Interested to see where this is going, no clue so far. |

| First episode and it's already unnerving -- nice. I actually don't dislike this style of animation. At least it's not as horrible as Ajin, IMO. Smh that Kasuga is prettier than me. :( Loving this ED song, though. |
