The show had great writing, just like the source material and I think that should be acknowledged more in anime. People spend too much time labeling the characters and plot to recognize just how well written this show, and many others are.

Mirai Nikki is a [modern] classic piece of work and the ending lived up.

On the note of the end, how can you complain about it in comparison to the manga? Use your imagination people, the same thing happened regardless of what we immediately saw. You have to assume they go off and create a "new future" once they reunite.

I heard the hammer scene was cut out. It still happens you just don't see it. It's a shame they don't show them becoming gods of the third world together. Would of wrapped everything up nicely. I wonder if they plan to spin off into original story now or if it's just an OVA project of Paradox. Guess we will find out.

For those who are at a loss about the "Hammer"
Spoiler'd just incase you want to read the manga ending yourself. they basically end the same.

ehhhhh I liked the anime at first but it kind of started to go dull afterwards. Same thing happen with Steins;gate for me. It started to get interesting towards 2x eps but then I my expectation for a good ending was gone as the anime came closer to the end.

I thought the ending was handled pretty well. Sure, it was inconclusive regarding Yuno (I think I prefer it like that), but I really appreciated the little snippets of each diary owner at the end. That's something that I thought they could have expanded upon in the manga, and I was pleased to see the anime deliver.

I'd probably give it an 8/10 overall. I personally thought it was a pretty damn good adaptation of the source material.

Man, I really hope this Paradox OVA speculation is actually a thing.

It's been a heck of a journey for Mirai Nikki, and I'm sad that I'll no longer be able to eagerly wait for Sunday releases as I have for the past few weeks. Just read the manga ending though, and the anime's missing the Deus Ex Machina "hammer" scene where
. It was a pretty fantastic ending nonetheless, and I felt as if it did a better job than the manga.

Looking forward to more news on "Next Project"!

HAPPY END.

This is what I want to know. Did they explain anywhere what prevented the 3rd world from ending like the other two? Didn't someone need to take over for when Deus died?

This is addressed in the ending of the manga.

Overall the anime was largely pretty good. Ignoring some annoying cast members, like some of the participants in the game as well as Yuno, characters like Yuki, Kousaka, and especially Akise were rather compelling and cool. Akise was really the highlight with any episodes in which his plot was active being some of the best moments and further he brought in the best moments in the penultimate arc of the series. The final arc of the series was actually the weakest point in which it seemed like it wanted to drag it out and make this truly a romance with action while making the most unappealing pairing canon. The ending was pretty crummy with only the epilogue of sorts being pretty appealing and worthy of closing the story out. I would change so much in this final arc, and even most of this episode 26 for that matter.

The anime had great OP and ED throughout with excellent OST musical talent and visuals, with Dead End phone being the best visual aspect going and that key cell phone sound. A 7 / 10.

Started at 9/10 with high expectations and ended with 7/10. The idiocy of most of the characters between ep 12 to 20 was too much for me to rate it any higher. It was a fun ride while it lasted and I've enjoyed every minute even when the story / the characters didn't make sense at all at lots of parts.

And I'm glad they left out the hammer scene, this was just ridiculous in the manga version...

Although they left out the original hammer scene ending from the Manga in the Anime, the animes ending was portrayed nicely and better than the Manga.

Really enjoyed this rollercoaster of nail-biting enjoyment, definitely one of the best animes this season..

And I believe the next project is a live film for Mirai Nikki, so it's gonna be a live-action film and I hear they're changing the main characters name too..

Gosh, all this talk about the Hammer End makes me want to read it now. O.o

Regardless, I thought it was a little underwhelming compared to what was building up at this point. It was nice to see the 3rd world and what happened, tho. Lol, 9th's babies were funny and I love 12th in this episode.

Overall, I guess a 9/10 for me.

the ending was better than the manga, or at least than the older version of the manga.

Manga ending was so bad, believe it or not it even had more plotholes and the ending was rushed as hell, and the hammer was pure troll.

I've heard that it's a second season, but I don't really know how they could do that, since there's no story anymore

So after i watched this final episode, i rushed to this post.. and all i saw was "WHERE IS THE HAMMER", "HAMMER SCENE"??.. So i decided to read the last chapter of the manga and i totally ROFL'd at that part.

Anyways, we can hear Yuno's voice in the last seconds of this episode.. and something that breaks.. obviously the Hammer, but in that part they cut it lol.

9/10.. really close to 10/10.. ima think about it later, maybe re-watch.

BTW..New Project... YES!

I'm also wondering what New Project means? Is it anything new or just mirai nikki related? Maybe it's just for an adaptation of Paradox and Musaic.

Overall, pretty awesome anime. Wasn't a huge fan of the Dragon ball Z action stuff but it was still entertaining nonetheless. I was also satisfied with the ending, don't see why there is so much hate. The ending in the manga basically did happen in the anime... they just didn't follow up on it.

I think I am the only person who likes Yukki. Oh well.
(Seeing him in long hair was hhhhnnngggghhhhh <333333333333 /shotdead)

Well, about the episode itself... IMO, it was amazing. Yukki's and Yuno's goodbye made me break down crying. They went through A LOT though they're only 14-15 years old. They learned how to trust each other. How to love someone. And in the fact, their love was more sincere than some of the others. Because no one of them gave up, neither Yuno (trying to save him even at the point of going mad) or Yukki (being faithful to Yuno after all these years. He could create another woman, like Murmur said. But he didn't.)

Yukki loves Yuno... Because she's always on his side. And the thing is, Yuno becames crazy and locked him up even, but after these very few episode he understood the situation she was in. He couldn't use her anymore, so he saved her himself and changed the future even.

Yuno loves Yukki... Because she can depend on him. And it may be selfish and she could choose anyone, but actually, this became a real love as well. Would you sacrifice yourself and whole space continuum/other worlds/people just if you were using someone for your own good? I don't think so (especially when it comes to it, it's quite useless...). You wouldn't put the whole world up-side-down just for that person.

I enjoyed the happy ending for everyone in the 3rd world as well. It did brought me tears to my eyes, but I decided not to bug everyone in my house with crying at night anymore. xD Seeing 3rd and 12th talking together was... Awesome. I dunno why, but if felt kinda cool. And Tsubaki is cute. <3 Seeing 11th and 8th together was... Not excpected, but nothing against that! And MarcoxAi, one of the best couples ever. I always love couples if they have one thing - Faithfullness. Also, characters themselves are very good and didn't annoy me even once.

I did like the hammer ending in the manga, because it gave Yukki and Yuno (Jupiter and Juno. <3) a happy ending as gods of the 3rd world. But because anime is only an adaptation, I actually liked the way they used a little bit of cliff hanger. Because only manga/spoiler readers will know HOW Yuno broke down into 2nd world and how did they end up happily together, after all of the suffering.

And though this show had some plotholes (for me, most of them are explainable but whatever), I give this show a strong 10/10. Yuno will always be my yandere-queen and Minene become the only tsundere-like character I love. ~ (and Yukki in long hair is still a bishie. 8D)

Why does everyone hate the hammer? Really? I don't know what's wrong with it. I liked the manga ending. At first I was a bit confused, but going back to it now, it makes more sense and seems perfectly fine to me. I honestly never knew everyone hated the hammer.

I dunno. Something doesn't feel right...

Part of me liked the ending, but most of me is bitter. It felt unsatisfactory for many reasons, and it feels like many things remained unsettled. Even though I don't mind everyone getting a happy ending, it's quite out of place for this manga after all-- the theme was "survival game" after all, was it not?
Frankly, I don't even know what I was expecting in the first place, but all I know is that when I first started the series I was convinced I will rate it with a well-deserved "10" by the time it will conclude, and now I can't bring myself to give it more than an eight :/

Maybe I will give it a re-watch sometime and see how I feel about it. Anyhow, I went and read the manga's ending as well and as ridiculous as it may have seemed at first glance, the hammer scene makes more sense now and I am dissapointed they left it out. They obviously hinted at it but if you have no clue about the manga's ending, you are left with awfully mixed feelings.

The first half of the series was exceptional, then it went downhill, then it seemed like it might redeem itself and now I can’t even tell if I am okay with the ending or not. It’s frustrating but whatever, it’s okay, in the end I can’t deny that Mirai Nikki was definitely an entertaining ride, and I will miss it-- it was flawed, but awesome. So...

They left out the last few pages but at the same time indicated what happened after the credits anyways.

It was only supposed to show Yuno emerging through the cracks of that time and space rift Yuki was in and she was supposed to jump into his arms and YAY happy ending.

You could see the light cracks on his phone at the end after the diary changed and heard her voice so it's not like anyone missed anything save for that little scene.

At first episode it really looks cool.
But then the scenes become too brutal and I am thinking if I should drop this anime, then I realize that this one is good, with the facial expressions and sound editing.
After watching 19 or 20 something episode it looks like DBZ and suddenly there are fight scenes between Minene and Murmur, it looks like the author has gone out of ideas.
And the ending was ok. I would prefer the ending of the first world though.

It was a solid 10/10 for me during the first 18 or so episodes but as the show went on the rating didn't feel as obvious and I decided to give it a very strong 9/10. I wanted a different ending for Yuno x Yukki. This one was rather bittersweet since it's not the real Yuno and Yukki. :/

Yes, I've read the manga ending but I didn't like it. It felt forced to make everyone happy, but I really want an ending in that direction at least. Maybe I'm still mopey because this amazing series has ended, but I wanted more out of this ending because the show deserves so much more.
