| Another good episode, their feelings for each other are starting out earlier than I thought. Though I guess he's truly caught in a triangle now though haha |
| Hmm not sure how if I like how they make Akari kinda seem like a cheap gyaru that is willing to easily give up her virginity etc. And it feels a bit forced and rushed so I think I root for shiori. She actually knows him. I would've rooted for Akari if it wasn't this soon that from I dislike you I love you in 1 ep ^^; I mean not like she knows him well yet? But I love gyaru gals <3 so wouldn't mind either if Akari ends up with him.. But shiori makes more sense compatibility wise. Wish they added a bit more plot for Akari for changing to liking him aside from a kiss that meant nothing yet. And it's obvious that Akari will be the couple with MC Loved the horror movie thing and Akari got all cute, she's actually a vulnerable girl. |

| I’m sorry, but I laughed so hard at minute 5:07, hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! They got a point! Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! The teacher was enjoying watching Watanabe’s butt through the room’s camera and gave them a point, right? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! I can’t stop laughing!!! He was enjoying the view of Watanabe in her clothes! That teacher is seriously a pervert. (Just finished watching the episode now) Focus with me—we’re only talking about two episodes so far! And all this happened already! This anime moves fast when it comes to building relationships and emotions. I love that kind of anime—no, I adore it! It's my favorite style! I won’t mention other anime to avoid spoilers, but just think—there are shows that finish 12 episodes without any emotional development between the characters, or a romantic anime with 24 episodes that waits until episode 21 for emotions to finally appear. But this anime, in just two episodes, showed us the characters’ pasts, their feelings, and helped us understand the entire emotional framework of the show so smoothly and clearly. I really liked this frame, hahaha. Also, the opening and ending songs are beautiful! I loved the line: "How much does the word ‘like’ have to grow until it becomes love?"  |
| Second episode down! This was a good episode! In particular I feel the comedy and dramatic elements of this episode hit a solid home-run here. The first joke/set-up of this episode, with Yakuin's dream of Sakurazaka bleeding into reality but replaced with Watanabe, was very funny. I like the running gag of his dreams hitting reality but with Watanabe as the center of the shenanigans instead. Watanabe is still my favorite of the cast so far and I sincerely doubt that will change throughout the course of the anime as far as I can foresee. Yakuin has also made a better impression on me this episode and there's a bit more context surrounding his awkwardness with Sakurazaka. While I still don't like that he is waiting for her to come to him, I can see how he's grown to be this way given how Sakurazaka is timid herself and has ALSO not fought for a romantic relationship with Yakuin. They both have grown complacent with each other and it seems as if they need to move on from their feelings, as as it stands right now they're going absolutely nowhere. They're both too stuck in their heads about a relationship between them. Aside from the dramatic elements of Yakuin's character, this bro is pretty funny. Now for clarity I am watching the dub but there is absolute GOLD here in terms of comedic dialogue and delivery. My favorite lines from the English dub in this episode: "Don't beep at me, this is a crisis!" "Women and their inane demands...!" "YOUR HONOR I WAS LOST IN THE SAUCE!!" Chef's kiss; 10/10; keep it up dub. Finally, I wanted to touch on some artistic choices I noticed that were really cool. While this one is nothing crazy I still will highlight this particular clip. The clip involves Watanabe chatting with her friends, albeit an obviously one-sided convo, as Watanabe is stewing in her new budding feelings. Nearing the end, one of her friends says something along the lines of "Miss "prim and perfect" is going to steal your man!", to which the scene cuts to Sakurazaka and Yakuin. Very nice touch of the editing, clearly indicating Watanabe's confused emotions through visual cues alongside the audio. Most anime are pretty generic in the editing, yet when I see deliberate choices and direction like this, it brings me a very pleasant smile and warmth. Finally, I didn't mention this in my last episode's post because I didn't sit and watch it initially, but the opening and ending songs are pretty catchy and I LOVE the ending song's art style. Will be listening to both from here on out. I think the romance between Watanabe and Yakuin is moving a bit quick. However, I will also counterargue here that the two have had crushes on very different personality types (timid but polite and short girl vs. tall and handsome soft-spoken gentleman) and now that they have been paired with a personality type they had initial stigmatized opinions toward the two realize the merit in the other. I think that is really beautiful in its own right. They're literally broadening their worlds. Really enjoyed this episode and looking forward to more! |
