| really cool stylistic choice to have the night dark, dreary, flat, depressing when he's with the detective, then everything is colorfully vibrant and full of life when he's with Nazuna, who is of course ironically the dead one |

| So the detective was the antagonist. She knows she can take charge of the conversation to instill doubt in Kou, and then threaten him with arrest when he manages to spar back verbally, how insidious. That said, her mentality was so aggressive there that it should cause Kou to remain true to his vampire dream, or at least I hope so. |

| They really know how to employ the environment and the use of lighting. Just look how magical and otherworldly the night looks when he's with Nazuna and in contrast when he's talking to the detective lady or doubting himself it's bleak and dull like the real life night. |
| It was OK. In the bigger picture, this episode was almost a complete recovery from the disastrous last episode. But one flaw the anime will never be able to fix is the disconnection between the final part of the story and the main plot. The final part of the story was brought about ex nihilo, out of nothing, simply for convenience of the plot. There is no functional spine, just a disfigured abomination pretending to be the plot, or a frankenstein monster pretending to be human. On a subtler note, the story finally revealed its cards; showing what it's really about. I doubt many people picked it up as it is cleverly hidden in plain sight. It's definitely not about love. And the coming of age struggle is mere means to the actual theme of the story. |

| The trap arrives! (for the second time) |
| God that last episode really did a number on not just Mahiru but Kou as well which only makes sense for them because they witnessed their childhood friend get attacked. Which of course led to Kou going to Nazuna about whether or not this normal behaviour for a vampire to attack people if they are looking for blood but of course she’s such a good friend that she reassures him that’s not normal for every vampire to do what that teacher did the other night. And in a way it does make Kou think things over and he’s being rational about his situation even Mahiru is warning him to be cautious of what he does but at the same time I don’t think his words eased any of Kou’s concerns. Things definitely got serious as soon as Anko first appeared and I definitely convinced that she’s isn’t killing vampires because it’s her job to do so, no it’s more she gets a kick out of doing it. She’s so incredibly creepy as a character, she can be lighthearted one minute and then the next she’s just scaring the living hell out of me. She’s now made things worse for Kou she’s essentially threatened his life now because of his involvement with the vampires and now his night outs are at risk of being gone permanently thanks to her. Things are gonna get a whole lot interesting in the finale I really want to know what happens now. |
| I think they made great use of the colors when talking to either the detective or vampires, two completely different worldviews. - Vampires - Fantasy, a way to escape from reality, more to life - Detective - Back to reality, very serious and almost negative in a way I do wonder how she knows THAT much though, paired with the fact her blood tasted "bad", could she be another supernatural being maybe, I mean if vampires exist surely there could be others. |

| After that boring Midori fan service ep, the following two were intense and incredible! was about to give a medium grade to this anime, but now the plot twist was amazing! im loving it! not even finished it and already want season two! |

| I guess this is what this series was missing, Kou never gave the vampirism thing much thought aside from thinking "yeah that sounds fun" I mean he is 14 so it makes sense. Now with him questioning his choices and the detective pushing him even more to do so, the series actually became interesting... too bad the season is ending |

| Kou's fondness of Nazuna is extra funny to think about if Anko's "speculation" of him preferring girls with bigger stacks is anything to go by. But damn, her tenacity as a detective is intimidating. |
