I can name my first 4. the first anime i ever saw was Dbz when i was about 8, i think, back when you could only see it very early on saturday mornings. 2 was Tenchi with 3 being Gundam Wing and 4 a random sprinkling of Sailor Moon.

Quite similar to me! DBZ and Gundam Wing.. Ah I remember when they played those on Toonami years ago. Good times~

Without knowing it was anime, Pokemon. The first anime I watched knowing it was anime was Cowboy Bebop.

Pretty boring, I know.

I'd always thought the first anime I saw was Akira, but having found Transformers G1 on here I guess I've been into anime a lot longer than I thought. I practically grew up on Transformers! Speaking of which, is it me or was Peter Cullen trying to sound like John Wayne...

It was Pokemon, you know, during the massive craze! It may not be the best anime in the world (far, far from it) but it'll always have a special place in my heart. Oh, the nostalgia! Bygone days of arguing over who had the best shiny cards. I miss the simplicity of childhood! ;)
Your search on "Oran Solus" returned the following quotes:

"Oran is a sophisticated penguin." Drybananna

Hmm, my very first anime. It was Neon Genesis Evangelion - back in the days of the glorious VHS cassette. But despite Ghost in the Shell and the occasional Ghibli film over the years, anime didn't really stick to me until fall this year when i discovered Claymore. And now I'm thoroughly addicted.

My first anime? Its a complicated question for me.

An episode of Teknoman I saw at my aunt's house when I was eight. Then there was part of an episode of Robotech (the third season, with the cool bikes that became armor) I saw when I was eight, too. I never caught the whole thing though 'cause I had to go to school. :P Then there was Ronin Warriors which I caught most of when I was nine years old. And DBZ which I caught in fourth grade on Fox, then in fifth grade on CN's Toonami. Finally in sixth grade at the age of 12, I saw the anime that made me realize there WAS "anime", Gundam Wing. So if you want to be literal, Teknoman, but I really only count G Wing. :D

My first was Akira, when it was actually shown on british tv for the first time (ages ago now.... think it was channel 4 and it was split between 2 nights iirc). It was dubbed and cut, but it was still so different to anything I'd seen before!

I guess Dragon Ball was the first that I saw in the early 90s when it was on TV. At the time, I was around 9, so I didn't really realize that it was anime. The first that I actually knew was anime was NGE.

The first anime that I really followed with a dedicated passion was Rockman.EXE Axess or as it was known in the US at the time, Megaman: NT Warrior Axess or something along those lines. I still remember being heartbroken when...

I may end up buying the DVDs for that season if they ever freaking get released! Come on people it doesn't take 3 years to finish one season! *fumes*

Neon Genesis Evangelion, though I didn't understand half of the stuff going on. However like every kid at that age I watched Dragonball Z and Pokemon, seeing them now brings on such a sense of nostalgia.

Technically, my first anime was Pokemon, but seeing as I was 11 at the time and didn't know what anime was, I think that hardly counts. :p

Since then, I'd also watched Dragonball Z, Cardcaptors, as well as Sailor Moon, but I also had no idea that these were anime.

The first anime, as it were, that I watched was Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. Needless to say with a movie that gave me a very good impression.

The first series I watched Inuyasha.

The first series I finished was FLCL.

Saint Seiya, the master of all classics! ;)
"A lesser man might call it a day and bask in the echoing voices of cheer and celebration. A lesser man might delight in the moment, knowing he's the ultimate hero, a benevolent Big Brother to all and an inspirational light of hope in the darkest of times.

But Superman is not a lesser man. He renews his vigorous patrol of our world for wherever the battle for trust and justice must be fought, Superman will be there.
Forever...and always."- Superman #150
