| Not after an anime, but maybe a decent asian inspired name I live in the USA and i've seen many people with non euro-inspired names. I personally don't understand why we have to be held back with european based names. Stuff like Rin, Aki, Jin, Kane, Kumi, Mai dont sound that bad and a few of these I've seen people have of non-japanese descent. |

| You can always justify naming your child Japanese if you marry a Japanese. Also makes more sense if you plan on living in Japan. If not you could always let your child have an English name as well as a Japanese name and use it appropriately depending on the environment. |

| That's kind of fun even though I probably won't have children. And it is pretty convenient for me as I'm Chinese and we share characters. Actually most of their name are quite odd in Chinese, but now I think of it there are some good one with a good meaning: Hideyoshi 秀吉 (elegant, auspicious) Kazuma 和真 (peace, genuine) Shizuo 静雄 (quiet, manly) Kusuo 楠雄 (wood, manly) Also every name from Saiunkoku Monogatari can be used because the writer attempted to name the characters like Chinese in the first place. |
| 11 years after I created this post. I see it was still active last year which is 10 years after creation and crazy to think people were still posting on it. I have a child now and named him after Jax from Mortal Kombat. |
