I don't remember crying at all when I watched it 2 years ago. Maybe I should re-watch it and see if I cry the second run through. I've practically forgotten most of the story.

i basically had to pause and cry and pause and cry everytime i remember nagisa. and it took me at least 15 mins to get through the field thing when okazaki was with ushio. I paused cause i had to like shut myself up from crying oh my god. This series is so beautiful. The best emotional anime ever IMO. I will never forget how this changed me in reality.

Till episode 16, I hardly was moved.
But after episode 16, OMFG!! It was ;_; and :'(( . Ushio stealed the show. And the ending blew me away. I cried+laughed after I ended ~After Story~. These kind of animes are rare. Epic animes! :| I cried 15+ times in entire Clannad+After Story.
Why so serious?

I cried like 4 times.

And i'm seriously not a person who cries about every crap in anime. Only Clannad was able to do that to me.

I felt safer when Goku died in DBZ against Cell. And you know that when someone in an anime where people get revived every time makes you feel sad over a show where there is a laugh track in cry version doesn’t make you feel sad, then you probably need to reconsider your strategy.

I cried for the whole time after
. I couldn't keep myself together. I was a wreck while watching this. I'm going to watch it again soon so hopefully it still retains the same emotional power. Even in the first season there were some times I nearly cried, and in the AS I got choked up quite a few times before
This is the single most emotional and tear-jerking thing I've ever watched.

Well, I have to say that I rarely cry, but not because I think that to cry it's not a men's job, but because during my childhood and adolescence I enforced my personality so much.

The last time I cried was 5 years ago, when my grandpa died.

But then I watched this series, and ws something totally new to me, some feelings that I've never experienced, so it got me so much, I wasn't prepared.

In the first season of Clannad I got teary-eyed only few times during the Fuuko arc, but nothing more, in fact I was wondering why this series was so praised, but then in the AfterStory I understood why.

From the infamous episode 16 until the end I cried and sobbed like a baby from the beginning to the end of each episode, which I must say, I marathoned.
My body was so in pain.

Nagisa's death didn't get me so much, I don't know why, but her absence and Ushio's thing were beyond everything one could afford.

For me, when Tomoya and Ushio went on that trip, and they both cried, was the climax of all the show, the most sad part. After that, I had to pause and desperate myself for 10 minutes.

Never, don't see why I would. Overly melodramatic with no substance.
Yoshii Kiria took over as leader of Fairytale and rebuilt it and became one of Tsukunes formidable enemies but let's save that story for another time

Hehe, let me introduce him to you again, kid. This is Shuzen Issa (who is MIA during the final battle), who will become your 'trainer' starting today. You still have much to go if you want to become the headmaster.

Couple of points here. Saying we need to grow up for crying at something like Clannad shows that you are the one that is immature. Secondly, Clannad is pretty funny, in fact the second time I watched it I laughed a lot more because I had become attached to the characters.

When Sanae cried

It was horrible when Sanae cried.

Teared up a number of times, but only had actual tears in the field scene and the reminiscing of Nagisa.

Some throughout the series are from happiness though.

I balled my eyes out for both Clannad As and Elfen Lied when I was really newish to anime.

Took me about two years or so to start being able to tear up at things again after that.

Warm eyes at most, good emotional manipulation. Now if it wasn't forced and contrived I would've actually cared and sympathized.

If there was an intense emotion I felt watching Clannad it would be rage, because of the cop out ending.

... I must be the only one that didn't cry... but oh God... my emotions were never this high. After Story did it for me. The feels were stronger than life itself. It's more than life. ... I don't think I can handle Anohana. Please don't make me go through the feels again!

Re-watched and I managed to make it through season 1 without tears (but I had a lump in my throat many times), and I think in After Story I let out a few tears in episode 13, and cried in episode 16, cried more in episode 18, and more in episode 19, episode 20 (not my fault they play the dango tune at the right moments -.-), not in episode 21, definitely in episode 22, not episode 23 (though I had a lump from happiness), and definitely episode 24 quite a lot especially when they play that song "Palm of Tiny Hand" or something, but it's to the tune of dango.

So adding that up it's total 7 times -.-

But now I fully understand the ending and it's just so perfect. If anyone is confused about the ending or think it's a "cop-out", go and rewatch it all again and pay attention to the orbs of light and when they talk about the illusionary world. I hated Little Buster Refriain's convenient happy ending cause it was bullshit but Clannad's ending actually makes sense and was foreshadowed from the very beginning.

It amazes me when I look at the stats and realise just how small percentage gave Clannad After Story a low score and yet so many haters in every thread. What's up with you people?! This is a thread to discuss how much we cried at this. If you don't like the show then why the hell are you even here?!

It doesn't affect me personally but I just want to know what are you trying to achieve. I hate Welcome to the NHK but I don't plague the forums about it every 5 minutes. Jeez...

I thought I would have cried more while watching Clannad After Story but it was beautiful nonetheless. I shed a few tears here and there in the last few episodes for the deaths but the one scene that left me sobbing was Ushio and Tomoya in the field of flowers. That scene destroyed me I was crying all the way until the end of the episode when she said Sanae told her its only okay to cry in her daddys arms. That episode broke my heart. Overall Clannad was an amazing story.

It's truly a feat to make me cry. Not trying to be badass, in fact I wish I could change the fact sometimes. It's just not easy to do.
That being said, the whole series made me cry a couple of times. I'm guessing when doesn't need to be said again.
It's really an amazing series, to me.
