A respectful conclusion. Yukimura's intention with the final arc is there. The thematic pieces are there. Just that some of the executions of its impactfulness aren't at the level of the prologue, farmland, or even the expedition stories.

Looking back, that we were in like chapter 50 and the mangaka said we had just left the prologue... wasnt that a bit too much, to call it only prologue? Some will find it the best part of the work lol. A prologue by essense something really short vs what you will have to read after, and 50 chapters of 220, is still hella more than SHORT. xD |

| Fantastic series. Really going to miss this series. The ending really touched the heart. RIP Einar. Going to miss Thorfinn, Gudrid and others'. I loved to see Bug Eyes ending up with Niska. The ending focused on peace and hope and a focus on optimistic ending. This series is based on historical events so this ending is probably the best.Full 10/10 from me. |

| I really did like it... I guess that the voyage will only continue... looks like 1000 years weren't enough... let's hope it'll at least end one day This really made me cry in the final arc many times, truly wonderful story, characters and themes |

| What a ride really. This ending is satisfying for a number of reasons. In short, this is truly the fiction of all fiction of manga. |

| It was weird roller-coaster. The whole time you were reading, you already knew how the story would end, because we all know the Vikings never managed to settle in America and they were constantly attacked by the local inhabitants. So, in a way, the whole long, grand saga led to nothing and peaceful world was never created, especially considering that hundreds of years later, the Americans cruelly wiped out the natives and occupied their lands. Of course, Thorfinn couldn’t have known that, and he truly believed he would succeed. It was beautiful work nonetheless just every single chapter felt super bittersweet knowing that a world without war and violence will never be achieved and all the promises despite good intentions were fake. |

| Bug eyes got his hands on the native cunny after all. Surprisingly sophisticated! I still think bringing a girl to Iceland would be easier than trying to survive north america as a duo of which 1 has questionable survival skills but whatever. Overall though.. I dont know. The end was underwhelming. Thorfinn living without even changing his views while Einar died is also unsatisfying for me. Hild never got as much as a happy end either. Honestly I did not actually want to read the manga anymore after S2, it just felt a bit.. pretentious? I picked it up now because it ended and I got curious. It was actually pretty good in the middle, but it got weaker and weaker after Jomsberg with some rare good chapters. With the way the story was going I was not actually expecting them to ever reach Vinland. Especially when they set out for Greece! I still believe that would have been a better outcome. To set sails for Vinland and leaving the rest open. Vinland was always presented as this dream, facing reality takes the mystery out of it. Doesnt mean the manga was bad, far from it. But its unsatisfying like soooo many others of its kind. To this day the only satisfying manga ending was Claymore. |
