Been a while since a show made me smile this much.
Was the story the most deep? nah
Did everything make sense? nah (everyone had phones in there and nobody took a video and shared it online?)

But that isn't the point of the show for me.
I want to pick up drumming now.
Solid 9/10 very fun.

does anyone know the title of the song they play during the battle?
@haskellith

From what I can find, the song is called "In the evening, light is obscured, various secrets are taken into consideration, and an absurd "dream" is nurtured" by Te'.

Dope song, but frankly I like the show version even better.

If I understand correctly, all the songs were covered by Band-Maid and I'm hopeful they'll get released soon. I need more of the sound of Tina's synth solo. I can't find a keyboardist in any of their other songs, so if anyone knows who they brought on I'd appreciate it.

The insistence on not having vocals when the music is just completely average (not shitting on Band-Maid they have their real band to worry about) is kinda weird. It would be much better cause it feels like the music is missing a layer or something.

Pretty decent finale. Biatchus felt like they were there for the pure catharsis of destroying them rather than to be worthy opponents, but we got the best performance since the Takarajima episode. We were at least spared having to listen to Bacchus. Also, they were the target of this episode's screaming so it felt less tedious and cringy than the usual screaming.

Overall, I'd say it's been the most consistently disappointing anime of the season for me. Every line of dialogue whenever they're playing music made me cringe. The music itself didn't do anything for me, which is surprising because I love BAND-MAID. The school bits were okay. I still kinda liked it and would watch a second season though. 6/10.

Disappointing ending. When what you want is to show a confrontation between rock bands at the climax of the series, and the opposing band are simply clowns with no level of skill, it's ridiculous, without any emotion. Bochhi, GBC, Ave Mujica, any of those series were better executed. 5/10
@Hormigo

Agree

GBC, BTR, Bandori Mujica better Execution,
Mujica has best monologue "Sakichan Sakichan Sakichan

Rocklady song Execution meh somehow, wasting BAND-MAID as their mocap, only make random instrumental song and rocklady vocal song meeh ( looks shiiit Bacchus or Bitter Ganache)

Joining the scattered voices saying this was disappointing. Most of the second half was surprisingly dull. I don't think the performance did much to overcome the exact weaknesses they were talking about with instrumental, especially since the way they tried to hype it up was a bunch of talking over the song about how great it was. There wasn't anything to the final opponents or particular reason the girls succeeded or anything beyond a cheap, easy, feel good victory, which feels off when the characters are going on about how they're fighting for their passion to be different. I think Lilisa and Otoha would really hate this anime.

The opening concert performance looked insane. The calmer portion of Isemi's keyboard "solo" was my favorite and only because she is me fav. And than we get the band name title drop.

Even though Bacchus somewhat sucked and Naota threw one hell of a temper tantrum I want him to be a recurring side character. With the same goal of reaching Fuji Rock and lack of dedication he can ave a fantastic character arc and rivalry with the Rock Ladies. Bands in DMC stayed relevant for the whole series too (plus I am a sucker for pitiful failure sexy-men).

Fingers crossed for a season 2🀞

I thought it was how much they destroyed the cocky boy band at the end.

I don't know anything about rock, but I do know Rock Lady's performance is fire! On another hand, damn those Bacchus dudes are lame af, how big of a loser do you have to be to hit a girl over silly banters? Anyway, stellar performance by Rock Lady, and this is a banger final episode!

I honestly expected this series to flop and by episode 3 I'd have already dropped it, but I'm happy to say I was proven wrong. This is the most surprising anime of the season for me, with loveable casts and dialogues full of innuendo make this a fun and memorable series for years to come. The 3D models look very alive so no complaints for animation from me! The 2D animation lacks a little, but they're just mostly standing and talking when not playing, so not a deal-breaker.

I'm definitely hoping for a second season when the manga has more materials to work with, so until then I'm waiting.

A solid 8/10 from me, banger of an anime!

The subject matter is not bad, but the construction of the story is not very good. The main body of the story is centered around a gap, but it is forced, and the somewhat template-like development does not seem to mesh well with it.

Now that was a great performance! Not quite Bocchi the Rock, but still a great music show. The "We are Rock Lady" line went hard af. Sounds like the manga isn't far enough ahead for a full season 2, but hopefully we'll still get one in the next few years.

OMG HELL YES. What a fun ass performance and a fun episode in general! They really put a lot into this finale. While I'm kinda sad that they made Bacchus kinda flat, like main guy being the way he was is one thing, but don't make all of them pretty much an extension of him. They can all have different opinions on the matter. Still, I absolutely loved the energy and I honestly thought the appeal of them was believable enough for the crowd to actually be pretty damn impressed. I've definitely seen a crowd a gals go from not caring to getting pumped the heck up if the performer plays their cards right-- and I feel that they did. Throughout the anime, the support they've received has been mixed. The community show had folks acknowledging their skill, but still not being 100% happy with them, their first battle they lost since they weren't playing to the crowd and folks had some confidence issues and such. I felt that this performance was earned and had a decent set up. I'm not sure if I would have liked to actually hear the performance from Bacchus or not, but I think this worked out well too. Overall, I actually really enjoyed this anime and looked forward to it every week. There isn't anything I'd take as a glaring flaw probably.
Hope there's a season two. Would love to cosplay from this. ;_;

What a masterpiece of a finale. I seriously hope this anime manages to sell at least 500 Blu-ray volumes, or better yet, 2000, for BNP's sake. I demand a 2nd season right now. Jokes aside, I loved the finale. I don’t know how the sales data is looking, but if there’s ever a season 2, you can count me in!

holy smokes, that was an extremely satisfying ending and a satisfying f you to the poser bois ahahah
Alice was damn killer too she got some of that Lily personality rubbed off on her aahhahahahahahahahah

I mean ofc the band was gonna be saved because it led up to this point but I think the lead up to their victory was insane great to see, even Otoha being a bit meh with the whole situation, Lily finds a way to bring her back into the fun
like band performances in concerts n' whatnot during segments without their main focus artist like singers and idol groups, the key point isn't just about playing it as is but the showcasing of raw unfiltered brilliant talent each instrumentalist brings to the music to pump up the audience

the rivalry is what drives them to be better, Otoha and Lily throwing hands at each other since the start isn't a way of dissing and hating the other person as is but is like harsh but real constructive criticism to get the other person to do much better than they are now and I love that this chemistry is still present
the use of Shiro's coolness and Tina's handsomeness was also in favour to them with girls swooning to their appearances amidst being driven into the beat of the music, this was such a damn satisfying conclusion to this battle of the bands, perhaps even more satisfying than previously similar band anime too with the reverberant music and chaotic unity here

I do hope we get to see more in the future with Rock Lady, simple words used for their name but extremely fitting and somewhat beautiful of a name as well
I wonder if Lily will continue to strive as Noble Maiden and even change the status quo of the rich people hivemind and what will become of Lily and Alice's relationship to their rather psychotic mum (from what I've seen of her in this show anyway, she's delulu af I tell you)

TBH, this "battle of the band"... isn't really that impressive, LOL

It's basically [Crap vocal with no skill] vs [No vocal with skill] (well... half skill, lol)

Both sides are bad in different parts.

Especially since the Girls aren't exactly that skillfull besides white hair and Oto to began with.

While the dudes... are literally just using their money and looks to get people to notice them, lol.

.

Just too bad that [Rock Lady] can't really reveal their identity and go onto bigger stages.

Especially the MC... since I am pretty sure she will actually be disowned and kicked out of the Academy if they found out she's playing Guitar. (even if she gets backed up and living funded by Oto, it can't really last as Oto is also most likely restricted by her parents too, as to why she's also hiding the fact she plays Drums from others in school.)

This means they CAN'T EVER do Battle-of-Band against actual skillful groups that usually plays on bigger stages.

And they also have to be on edge and scared of anyone ever revealing their shows...

Meaning, this small live-house and restricted streaming/ recording is all they can really do.

Just the same as why they have to hide in the old school building to practice their music.

(also, kinda funny how that no one took any pictures or recording with their phones like people in Real Life would do even when they're engrossed in the performance) (since their phones were already out, could just look a the stage and press the camera without even looking at the phone, LOL)

.

Also, LOL @ the blue tomboy girl when she's doing the "flip off", since she's a good girl by nature, she feels nervous about doing it.

Incredible, captivating performance by Lilisa’s VA!

The character stands out in such a fascinating way, she will be my favorite this season.

The visuals are beautiful - I loved the character designs, the vibrant colors, and the special attention to the eyes.

Rock and anime - a perfect combo. Great characters, great music, super fun. The ojou-sama school was such a fun idea - I absolutely love it!

I didn't watch it on date due to work, I saw the OST drop and dodged it like it was explosive, and I'm absolutely glad, THIS is what I though I wanted from E11, they paid it back in spades, just Rokc Lady going down on some fool's head like a sledgehammer!

This is surely not the most amazing anime ever and they did kinda cram an 'arc' in about 30 minutes of actual scenes, yet somehow they hit all the buttons that needed pushed, I am happy with my score, a 5 for the episode, a 9 for the series, the Lalisa going on her knees in front of Otoha's kit set as lock screen. 20/10 overall experience!

procrastinated for too long this final for multiple reasons, but a main one is i just didn't want it to end.

The fact it's about a band that refuses to use a singer has a meta double meaning and it works... everyone got focus and it has clearly been shown, Tina's moment was especially appreciated since keyboards seemed lower in the instrumental mix until that moment. i was hyped when Lilisa went "stop looking at your phones, we're up here!" and delivered, turning the crowd completely disinterested not in the opening act anymore, but in the headliner one, that lost any kind of dignity just by leaving the stage early, imagine later on. Thanks to Tsukasa for stopping the situation before it went dark (even if it would have been cool also if Lilisa herself fought back successfully), and to be honest i had forgotten her at this point so i was afraid she would have informed everyone at high school about the band's secret double lives. And thanks to the (ex) manager of the defeated band too for doing the right thing and erasing evidence of the same kind that could have brought real trouble, especially considering Lilisa's crazy mother.

Season 2 deserves to exist. Lilisa still has family matters to solve, there's still the noble maiden subplot to complete, there's still craving for more entertaining slice of life school moments about the double life of the main cast, and this has been a hell of a ride since episode 1. Don't want to become delusional or something, but i already saw cosplay costumes for sale of Lilisa and Otoha, even despite the impossible, hilarious, meme-sque hairstyle of the former. Both are cool but Lilisa is just... a perfect choice of a main character for backstory, looks, motivation, wild personality, everything. 9/10, including those two amazing song picks for OP and especially ED.
(save your time and don't try to comfort when i rant on casual discussion or forum games, feel free to ignore me, i won't take it personally)

Great ending. "Because playing instrumental rock feels really good!"

It's ridiculous and not that deep, but that was so much fun and... pure? It's just unapologetically loud and full of joy.

I need MOAR. The band finally came together and made its mark, absolutely deserves a Season 2.

What a fun performance! And Lilisa was going off—she totally stole the spotlight like a queen!

I’m still disappointed by how cheap the showdown felt with Bacchus was.
I really wish they had faced a more skilled band—one that could've actually challenged their ideals about being an instrumental group. That would’ve made things way more impactful.

Overall, a good and enjoyable show. All the live performances were really fun to watch.

I’m curious to see where this journey goes from here.
Because honestly, the best possible ending I can imagine is all of them flipping off the school and their families.
If they keep pretending all the way until the end, it’s going to feel pretty disappointing.

I can’t wait to see how Lilisa’s previous family drama will play out.
Hopefully, they don’t try to turn her mom into some sympathetic character.
Lilisa needs to realize just how toxic their relationship is—and finally stand up to her.

Those losers got destroyed. I didn't expect them not even to finish their performance lol. Among the insults, I probably liked Tina's tje best/

So their band name is Rock Lady. I thought it would be like Noble Maiden or something, then they bust out with the hardcore rock contrary to their name.

Glad the guy manager quit.

Overall, though, for this anime, I don't really have much to say about it. 6/10

Thought it'd be complicated and challenging to take all of Bacchus' fans; but no it was actually super easy, barely an inconvenience. Lilisa just, through her playing, assures Otoha that through these concerts they are still playing for themselves and not for the audience, they are just there to share those same emotions while they play and to elevate said emotions to new heights together. After that, they were already locked-in but then everyone double-locks-in and goes bat-shit crazy; and then they just win. Opposing team absolutely demolished, they didn't even try. Rock Lady can't lose. How can you lose when you play for yourself and not care what anyone else thinks. And so Rock Lady embarks on its quest to dominate Fuji Rock, no doubt eating every other band along the way.

An exhilarating 13 episodes from start to finish. Begins strong and ends stronger, all the while maintaining and building up energy in between. An absolute banger, and freaking metal as fuck.
