God really... This series should samn it an Oscar get (as best Anime series and best regie 2022) in the next Oscar Award event, if not then it's a fucking shame!!!
unfortunately the judges for the Oscars don't have much respect for animation as a medium so it's doubtful.

From the animation of the sun set and the light slowly fading on their faces, to what Thorfinn said... it was all so beautiful.

It wasn't the best-looking episode at times, and the pacing felt a bit choppy, but the payoff was fantastic. I was stunned by Thorfinn's decision. I love when writers explore routes we aren't familiar with. And everything this season has done is near perfection, for me at least. This is one of my favorite anime seasons, with so many fantastic characters. And to think I used to hate Thorfinn.

Carve it.
Carve it into your flesh.
Carve it into the land.
Carve it into the sea.
Carve it into your spoils.
Carve it into your enemies.
Carve it.

Truly a masterpiece of an arc.

Thorfinn was brave to tell Canute of what he wanted to do, which was to run just so he can live in a place where peace reigns supreme. Canute's reaction to this was to laugh out loud, which did take me by surprise, but his words afterwards was nothing but admiration for Thorfinn and his ideology. That led to Canute withdrawing from the farm and changing his ways from here on out.

I'm glad that Olmar has grown so much over these last few episodes, as he inspires to be like Thorfinn as he takes over the farm and builds it back up again. Another nice moment was Snake saying farewell to Thorfinn and Einar, revealing his true name, Roald, Son of Grim, to the pair. =)

This was another stellar episode and I have a good feeling that the final episode will be an emotional one, going by the episode title and preview shown for it.

An all around beautiful episode, this will probably be my anime of the year. This honestly could've served as the last episode to close out this season, but I'm glad we get to see Thorfinn reunite with his family.

I'll admit, the only thing I couldn't wrap my head around was Canute's decisions. Leaving Ketil's farm was one thing, but to reverse the order of requisitions upon all the farms and pulling out the troops from England really caught me off guard. Guess he took Thorfinn's request of not giving him more work really seriously. Not sure I get it

It appears that Thorfin's lack of violence (his idea of a perfect society) was the reason for the unsuccessful effort to settle in northern Canada.

One of the best episodes I ever watched. The transformation of the evil king to a noble and kind king, the soldiers that understand the peace of working in the farm, the young master becomes a real man, and we finally set out gaze to the sea which will bring us to the vinland. A dream that becomes reality in their fictional world but also a dream that I have for this world.
truly magnificent

What a truly beautiful man you are Thorfinn. He brings hope to such a bleak world, and hope to people who have endured all this time.

It seems silly for Thorfinn to run away after all he's gone through, but he knows he can't win, but he can to somewhere far away, somewhere not binded by violence, oppression, or slavery. It might be far-fetched to some, but Thorfinn believes it's possible, and his voice rings so strong that even Canute believed in what great things Thorfinn could do that he couldn't do as king. No nonsense, no "talk no jutsu", just pure ideals, that everyone respects. Out of respect for Thorfinn, Canute left the farm alone.

It doesn't stop there though, as Thorfinn is committed to creating a peaceful world, and Einar joins him on this journey. The handshake scene seemed very iconic, and it probably was in the manga. For Arnheid, for Askeladd, for everyone else who has fallen along the way, it is time to build a future that everyone can be proud of.

Truly a transcendent episode, and one I'll remember for a long time to come.

I cringe at Thorfinn's pacifism bullshit but this episode was actually nice, the way Canute was convinced to leave the farm was meh but whatever, I don't expect much out of this anyway but at least I somewhat enjoyed this episode and I care about my enjoyment. This was a heartfelt episode and I usually enjoy these types of episodes even if the story or the resolution is meh.

Still, a meh/okay-ish 7/10 season, it has a crappy 1st half with that farming shit but it does have a couple of good episodes here and there too so not everything is bad here, and the last episode seems to be a good one too, Thorfinn will finally reunite with his family after all those years and yeah, I usually love these types of episodes so something tells me I will love the last episode as well, it will be another heartfelt episode.

4/5 episode and a 7/10 season so far. 1 more episode to go.

wow is it really worse than this boring piece of zzz??? Is thorfinn really going to be jesus christ himself and avoid every existing conflict by spreading peace and love??? yeah keep selling it as a masterpiece πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
You gave OPM Season 2 a 9. A terrible adaption where few well animated fights has all going for. Your opinion truly means much.

Some people are literally unable to give context to things and create judgements based on what a series/film/book/whatever is actually about rather than what they expected it to be and how much this fits their taste.

It's like seeing a SRPG only player criticizing a Grand Strategy game because you can't actually dictate how a battle goes.
They seem literally unable to develop complex ideas. It's absurd to me. One thing is to say something depeding on your taste (I recognize why Mob Psycho is so well regarded, but it just doesn't fit my taste THAT much), another is being completely unable to understand something and yet talk about it as if they are some kind of critic.

Even more absurd, if you give a look at the average taste of this guy he seems to have a nuanced understanding of "weird" stories, yet he bitches about Farmland Saga.
I would bet my right ball that the guy has some STRONG political opinions and seeing a story about how violence is actually very fucking bad left a bad taste in his mouth. Which is even more absurd seeing how he clearly likes Miyazaki movies which are like 50% Antimilitarism and 50% Enviromentalism.

This shit is so beautiful bruh. Why did this episode make me emotional. 10/10

Canute really came around! I did not expect that

Hearing Thorfinn and Einar talk about creating Vinland was beautiful. And them calling eachother brother made my heart warm.
I'm so happy that Thorfinn is finally going back with Leif to see his mum and sister who must be worried sick!! I hope we get to see that reunion next ep before the season ends.
I'm a bit bummed that Snake (Roald) isn't going with them. I think he's an awesome character and also super strong. But it makes sense for him to stay on the farm too.

Arguably one of the most iconic parts of the manga, probably second only to the previous episode, has been adapted. This would have been quite a good place to end the season, but I'm fascinated by their choice to include the next episode. I feel thoroughly satisfied with this season and it is definitely one of the best anime I have seen. I cannot wait to see what next episode, and even next season, has in store.

Hmm. I guess 'explorer' is a better term than pirates in that case. But then again, the original point was of pirates so... never mind lol

Wow. I'm floored. Besides one slightly annoying cliffhanger in episode 21, this arc was flawless. This episode blew me away. I couldn't have asked for more from the resolution of Thornfinn and Canute's conversation. I can't believe he actually convinced him to leave. It makes me curious how the events with Canute and becoming king of England actually happened in history. Did he actually pull out of England like that due to whatever reason? For that matter did Thorfinn and Canute actually know each other? I would assume no.

Anyways the back half of this episode was really special. It was the perfect resolution to the arc. It feels like the series could end here tbh. Thorfinn's gone through the goat character arc and is returning home to see his family. Then what? We gonna get to North America I guess but it does feel like it'll be a whole new show again.
