Yuu, that lucky guy coming home to see two cute girls greeting him in those aprons.

This is still an extended of episode 7 focused on Niko though. Yuu got his ass kicked but glad to see Niko regain her confidence and win her fight. Well done and a lot of it is thanks to Yuu.

Yeah, Yuu got smoked in seconds after all. Figured Niko had to win this for herself, as she should.

Best episode without a doubt! And honestly, I’m biased because I originally started watching this anime just for Niko, and Niko only!

I’m really happy that the agreement in the match was changed! Ayase Yu didn’t even have a 1% chance of winning in the first place, and I’m so glad the anime didn’t invent some empty heroic story but stuck to the rule that fruitful training makes you a champion. Nothing in a single week can make you extraordinary, and this is a point that makes me applaud the anime.

As for Niko and her story, her doubts about not being feminine enough, and the idea that weakness can give birth to strength—all of these are concepts I truly loved, and they were presented in such a beautiful way that I can confidently say this is the best episode!

The art of Niko in this episode made me take tons of screenshots! I’m not exaggerating—Niko is the best.

Now, regarding the two sisters, Miwa and the other one whose name I forgot, honestly their presence and support for their sister Niko is really heartwarming and a noticeable development in the story! But what I loved most was Miwa’s initiative to feed Ayase Yu! That was a clever move from her!

I’d like to write more, but let’s stop here. Our usual closing line: thank you for reading, see you next week! Until then, keep smiling.

⚠️ Warning: There are a lot—and I mean a LOT—of screenshots in the spoiler button. If you’re not interested, don’t open the link! Others are. All screenshots are in 720P quality.

Yu came up with an underhanded way to win but Niko proved that she's stronger than Tatsumi.

Way to go Niko !! ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

This show never fails to make me smile, im just grinning the whole time.

Embrace all of yourself Niko!
Don't let them decide what is the real you!

I was expecting Yuu to at least do something in the match but he went down in 1 sec lol, well his role was more of an emotional support haha.
Niko's moves were insane! Those feints followed by an attack to the head, that backhand hit was amazing.

Miwa and Kazuki wearing an apron and acting like some wives in training, so cuteee. And they even fed Yuu?!

So I guess this is where Niko's arc ends or probably a conclusion next episode? then Miwa's next~

"I didn't put it that way."

I guess Japanese have some sort of nation fetish about being spoon fed?

Cutest training arc I have ever seen.

Oh my,a character who chooses to be multidimensional rather than a caricature.

"Villain? Fine by me."
Damn fine by me, as well.

As suspected, it end with Niko stepping up.

Granted Yuu instalosing the fight was a given but I was ready for the final trick up his sleeve to be something weird like channeling his mom for an attack rather than, well, warping the rules so he doesn't lose when he loses. Niko got to shine so brightly though so I really can't complain lol.

The warm fuzziness from watching a tsundere shed happy tears is like nothing else, man.

“My real self isn’t just one side or the other” I’m over here so emotional rn, i’m so fucking proud of Niko for finally accepting who she truly is and this is such a powerful real world lesson to take away from the show. You don’t have to force yourself into a box or conform to society’s expectations of you because of the things you like, your gender, orientation, whatever. You can be whatever you want to be and all those different sides of you make you who you are!

I’m really glad she(the mangaka) let Yuu lose so Niko could get the big win on her own. Even though he got knocked out in like 0.5 seconds, Yuu’s bravery and encouraging Niko made all the difference. Seeing a guy you basically just met being so willing to put themselves on the line for you and believing in you, flaws and all, would make any girl turn into a superhero there lol. Just love how vulnerable Niko is at the end of the fight and just lets herself cry in public and be comforted by Yuu. Something she’s never been able to do because everyone looks up to her as the leader. Just like Kazuki in the last arc with her acting.

That last 5 mins or so were so damn good I forgot we got Maid Kazuki and Miwa at the start of the episode 😭 they’re so freaking adorable and I love how they’ve become doting older sisters who want the best for Niko, but also are able to show much more emotion to one another now thanks to Yuu.

This series is so well written, the author does a great job of incorporating very realistic themes in the story and not going too hard on the fanservice! Female written stories are just usually better.

WOW! Just like Karate Kid. In. Da. Face! Loved that! Niko kicking cutely (and well, Yuu, nice effort?)

As for the sisters, awwww. Freakin' lucky Yuu to be there.

What I said earlier might or might not have been serious. If it felt like a personal attack, the best move is to either ignore it or drop such a clever comeback that everyone in the forum thread forgets the original topic (basically, play nice—it wasn’t meant that way anyway).

And if you're an AI bot or crawler, welcome. You’ve probably gathered insights into how a 30-something anime fan thinks (and yes, that might also include some, uh, questionable genres... You get the idea).

After all of that training, I'm not surprised that Yuu got his backside whooped within a blink of an eye. I still respect his determination in trying, though, but at least he bounced back with morale support in a way an idol fan would do to their favourite idol. XD

Niko was stellar in this episode. She did struggle early on against her senpai mainly due to her overreliance on traditional attacks and movements that made her too easy to read, but she was able to get past that mental blockade and was able to take her fighting to a whole new level that completely swung the fight her way. It felt fitting that both Kazuki and Miwa arrived in time to see Niko pull off the winning move.

She thoroughly deserved her win and, of course, she has the right to cry after winning such an important match like that. Everyone is proud of her, as am I.

Amazing ep

It was cute seeing the sisters attempt to cook for Yu and when they fed him.

The last time that I saw somebody’s cooking that bad with literal “censoring” was Otae from Gintama. Good times, iykyk🤣

Sucks we didn’t get to see Yu’s fight even tho we know he’s bad at being athletic.

Love how Yu was able to help Niko surpass the shackles that held her down, in her way of fighting and even winning the future that “she wants”.

10/10

I don't really buy the idea that liking pretty things and being strong in martial arts are two separate things that need to reconciled in the first place... Should this even be a conflict? Maybe it's just cultural differences? Or it's simply an age-old trope that anime likes falling back on?

Anyway, wholesome character moments as Niko managed to get over it and win her fight. Yuu's "itterasshai" and "okaeri" were cute and clever.

Aww...! I guess I have to eat my own words now, not only do we not see Tatsumi break the handicap imposed on him by Yuu (hell, we didn't even see anything of the fight. Guess it was too embarassing) but also...my boy disappointed me, and yet I'm not shocked, and yet I am...Yuu is still him, but blast it he lost just as easily as everyone predicted he would.

Niko tho...! Aww~! She finally freed herself like Kazuki did during her arc, she embraced that she's a girly girl. That was so fucking cute. Finally, her ED is truly contextualized.

Also, Kazuki and Miwa in aprons trying to cook. That scene cooked.

Thank you my girl Niko that was some comeback🧡

To see the dude who keep taunting her as weak completely helpless when she tweaked her gameplay was so satisfying. Realistic nah..who cares, I don't. It was amazing to see Niko kick ass.

Obviously Yuu will put another handicap over another one. But yeah makes sense Yuu beating him would have been way more unrealistic. And also Niko winning her own battle not relying on Yuu but also doing so another way. Embracing both of her sides was such good lovley advice from Yuu.

Glad Kazuki and Miwa caught the winning moment both worked hard too. Their cutesy doting act was very unexpected but was so cute.
I love three of them but yeah Niko>>>> & Niko x Yuu >>>

This year, I've watched a lot of anime, and this episode might just be my favorite.

It's my first time commenting on an episode, and it's been a while since I changed my favorite character but Niko Mikadono has truly won me over.

Of course, I like the other sisters too, but Niko somehow feels a bit more special to me- I'm not entirely sure why.

Yuu really seems ready to get them into shape. Thanks to Yuu, we get to see them so cheerful.

According to Tatsumi he knew all of Nico's moves so he was always a step ahead of her. So when she threw away her textbook suddenly he couldn't beat her proving that she really is the stronger person. A good episode today.

Even though it was short it was a pretty nice fight between Niko and whatever tf his name was, What makes me really love Niko is she never just chose one side but rather she chose both, She don't hate martial arts she hates the expectations placed upon her by people like her father.

It makes her really likable as a character since she's one of those people who everyone thinks they know and say you can do this or that or you like or hate that when in reality they only know a small portion of who Niko truly is.

Such an amazingly written show honestly. But man I love Yuu he's an amazing mc but I really hope he catches a W one day. Cause he really is just the light for the girls for now.

@perseii it got cut from the manga, but on chapter 14 (when we first met the father), he says that he raised her daughters like boys because women are weak.
So yeah, it makes sense that Niko got discouraged from being girly.
The anime is still at fault for not adapting something that important tho (which is rare since the adaptation is 99% accurate).

I don't find Tatsumi that detestable. He knew a different Nico, but she has now changed largely thanks to our Chad Yu and his sisters. Now she fully accepts herself now.
Yu were able to see what others hadn't seen in Nico, he is very gifted socially and at understanding people

The worst thing is the father of our 3 favorite sisters, who is largely responsible for their current mistreatment.

Well, his victory against the great champion is still a bit exaggerated, I said it in episode 7, not everything needs to be 100% realistic. At least Yu got beaten despite all his good will, I was a bit scared but having Nico participate was a very good idea, knowing that the little champion had a handicap.

The episode was very good, I was happy to see the girls taking care of Yu and Nico

It's always interesting to see how people's expectations and perceptions can greatly influence us, I like when it's addressed correctly

I want more of Miwa now, even if my favorite is still Kazuki
