Oh Kanshi...he needs to manage his money better. I mean, seriously...even he himself knows it.

But yeah, an episode focused more on Kanshi goes a long way. Hope he learned his lesson. The hero gimmick stuff was also amusing.

Yay a Kanshi episode! Dude’s easily become one of my fave characters this season. Genuinely awesome guy. This two part job hunt episode was fun as hell.

First half was probably the better one. Kanshi not wanting to work or get a part time job because he feels it makes him an adult is so damn real lol. The otto-man role seemed so cool until we found out the role requires you being a sub to the female lead essentially. Kanshi ended up making the most of it and helping Hironaka’s son enjoy the show, but it sucks the manager didn’t want to pay them. Surely that violates some labor laws??! At least he made that kid’s day.

At this point idk why anyone would want to use Nico’s “buffs” when they always come with more cons than pros and usually will make your life horrible lol. At least this gave Witch Watch fans a lesson in relativity.. speeding up time for you, is just gonna slow time for everyone else relative to you so now that mundane job is gonna feel even more mundane lol. Poor Kanshi couldn’t understand anyone and they couldn’t understand him. I think that’ll be the last time he asks to get buffed by Nico for a while 😂

A Kanshi-focused episode. Well, I suppose it wasn't a bad idea, since the episode was funny.

What kind of fantasy hero story was that? How can you even show something like that to kids? Just when I was getting invested in the office romance, they ripped a pretty woman in half and an ugly monster appeared. That has to be a crime, right? That line about "Otto-man once again becomes his wife's ottoman" is crazy. This alone explains why Otto-man is only popular with kids and moms, not with dads. It speaks volumes about what was happening there. I can definitely say that not only the one playing the wife role enjoyed the ottoman scene, but the guy did as well.

There we go, Nico's magic causing problems once again. The other half of the episode, with Kanshi moving at 10x speed, had Nico and Morihito giving off mother and father vibes as they worried about their son Kanshi suffering alone in a world of solitude.

Forget Nico/Otogi. The real OTP is Kazamatsuri/Otogi. Kazamatsuri already wearing Otogi's underwear (from the preview of the next episode, "by mistake" he said, but there's very few circumstances that someone mistakenly wearing another person's underwear, if you know what I mean...)

The second half had to be the funniest skit since the class found out about Nico's magic back in episode two, buddy struggling then adjusting to the 10x speed was hilarious.

About the married man (otto-man) is kinda meh.. hard to imagine it's a kids show, especially he been use as foot rest for the wife...

once again, Nico's magic didn't really help the matter (even though he did finished the work) but once she cast it, there's no fix but wait till it's over

Both halves were so f*cking funny! I almost cried!

The intricate and emotionally deep backstory, that apparently was needed for this children's hero show, was hilarious. The word play between Otto-Man (Husband-Man) and ottman (furniture) was just so stupid.

And then the "speed spell" part that almost went as far as answering the question "Did he also poop 10 times as often?" Hahahahaha! So good, so dumb! When Kan was still sitting there, packing the damn screws at the (from his POV) same speed as before and said "still sucks" I almost lost it :D :D

Otto-man becomes wife's ottoman🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭

Dk Why I laughed so much at that scene. It's so cheap and dumb but done brilliantly. The entire otto-man story was so hilarious. And the masochist ending had me rolling. Kanshi remarks from side made it even better. Great work from his VA. Idk what was the point of this story but I ain't complaining. Don't make kids watch this show seriously...

For the Kwik kwik spell you can't even blame Nico now. She warned about everything and still Kanshi dove head first without a thought. Actually impressed he survived without a mental breakdown and completed his work (what a pain in the ass job). Felt bad for the poor Tengu.

Not the best episode out there but Kanshi deserves some focus and money. That ottoman part was just too too good comedy.
Nico yukata probably next week, like that on Yasobi video. Gonna eat well next time🙌

Whenever I'm ready to write off Witch Watch, it comes up with a funny episode like this. Kanshi carries humour better than the lead characters. His commentary during the acting out of the ridiculous play was hilarious. And, the 10x speed part managed to be both funny and sad. Yeah, this was good.

Omg xD that's such a cruel spell for Kanshi to be at x10 speed and have a normal perception with the time just being 10 times slower for everything you do, at least it was "only" a month for him but imagine if the spell lasted 1 month for them and almost a year for him I would become absolutely crazy if I was Kanshi ahah

Wonder how many little boys had something awaken within them by that Sentai show.

That speed-up spell could probably be an effective new form of psychological torture. My boy Kanshi will never be the same lmao

I can see why housewives love this show, as do kids, but the second half is kind of funny but also sad at the same time, a little sorry for Kanshi, but he was warned and in general you could think of a different way to put screws in a bag.

I love this episode so much.

Love how this episode was focused on Kanshi. I love the guy, I would love to be his friend. He'd be a really good friend actually. The hero thing was so stupid. Kanshi always made comments each time when the characters talked and it was AWESOME. The increased speed thing was even MORE stupid. I wonder how that would feel if I was in Nico and Moi's POV. But him getting used to slow talking and slow walking is going to affect him a lot.

Aoi Koga voicing the dudes co-worker, love it. Genuine question, why is Aoi Koga in basically every anime I've watched this season?

A Kanshi episode! Because he needs money to pay Morihito for his living expenses. So we a double dose of Kanshi trying his best to earn some money. Firstly at this very weird superhero show. Of which Japan has a lot of these apparently, probably because of the obsession with sentai. Kanshi getting hired here, going immediately to the lead role since the main guy is injured. As the director was explaining it things just got weirder and weirder. Having those depressing home and work commute scenes just left me puzzled. Why does the director think those need to be in a kids amusement park show. Capped off with having the hero's name be that ottoman double entendre. That did make me laugh but in a wow they really did that kind of way. Kanshi did a good thing helping thay guy be an inspirational father to his son, but I'm not sure what's inspiring about a superhero he's a literal ottoman at home. The second job Kanshi got with packing screws did seems extremely boring. But the spell from Nico he wanted just made everything worse per usual. You could easily see why people eith the ten times speed had mental breakdowns by the end. Being so isolated unable to speak to anyone for thirty days in your time would be maddening. Anyone would just lose it. It was really depressing to see Kanshi subjected to that. I felt so bad for him. Even after it was done he still couldn't get back to normal really. Poor guy.

Speeding up life 10× must be speed watchers wet dream. Or wait, maybe it's the speed lag since then they experience everything around them in high speed.

Both options seem pretty horrible tho xD

Otto-man = Ottoman?!? Glad that Kanshi pointed it out, I as too slow to realize it at first. The second half as way too good. I always thought slow everything down would be way too convenient. But they showed the negative side of it with a funny skit. I hope Kanshi will recover from that. He probably aged a couple of months because of that. haha.

Not a foot rest, an Ottoman, get it? that whole spiel with the wife was solely for that dumb pun...

Maybe that's a term people aren't familiar with anymore ottoman-[French ottomane, from feminine of ottoman, adjective] a. : an upholstered often overstuffed seat or couch usually without a back. b. : an overstuffed footstool.

Now I understand why Otto-man is the favorite hero of mothers and but not fathers; but I don't understand how he can allow children to see that😅. I laughed a lot during Otto-man's wife's punishment scene. Kanshi may not have had much luck acting as Otto-man, but he helped that father reconnect with his son...even if Moi ended up turning him into a footrest.

Seeing Kanshi under the spell of acceleration was both hilarious and tragic. The guy basically went through hell. He even managed to adapt to the spell, only to have to adapt again when it wore off. The poor guy should consider a better job, and maybe stop wasting his money too.

The narration was funny even though we didn't see much, in fact if we analyze the episode we can divide the story into two parts, but there was no shortage of laughter because the situations faced were so strange that it couldn't be done otherwise. Excellent interpretation of the characters.

Adults have more fun, at least adult Evil Overlords do.

" but not the dads?"
I can attest, not the dads.

Kanshi and his antics did carry this episode pretty hard. The way he was doing commentary over the Ottoman play was pretty funny. Same goes for the reason why fathers don't like Ottoman due to the footrest gag as well. I did like how Kanshi helped out the father by switching roles with him in the play and used his powers to make it seem that the father's attacks did massive damage. They both didn't get paid at all, but in all honesty, they both did the right thing. =)

The fact that Kanshi decides on things first then thinks about it afterwards really came back to hurt him during the second segment. The 10x speed was hilarious, especially after seeing how from Kanshi's POV, everyone else is moving at 1/10th of normal speed. After a while, I did feel sorry for him as it effected the way he lived, although seeing him trying his best to slow communicate in order for Morihito and Nico to understand him better was pretty admirable of him to do.

After this, he really should think twice before asking Nico to use a spell on him for anything!

I was about to joke that the tokusatsu production about nu male seemed like some kind of weird social commentary and I would like to see this show in reality, as the second half turned into an even weirder mix of Junji Ito and Black Mirror. Just imagine a horror movie where the protagonist's life gradually speeds up and he ends up in speed hell.

@sg_epk_1048596 Considering that enemies are an important part of the soul of a tokusatsu show and considering how they are presented here, the whole show is some kind of weird satire on Japanese male "masochism". I mean, a cold wife who is only interested in her husband as a submissive, monsters symbolizing work stress and the general soy vibes of the protagonist...

I’m not sugarcoating it… the episode is bad and totally skippable—boring.

I like the show, but I’m neutral—I don’t blindly support or favor it as a whole. This episode simply isn’t worth watching.
If you’re reading my comment, just skip to episode 9 or speed up the episode to 2x or even faster.

Loved the first half, the ottoman pun was really funny. I had completely forgotten about that chapter. I'm jealous of Otto-man, being a footstool to a hot babe would be great.

The second half I actually read about two weeks ago, and it's actually a chapter after the big arc that's coming up. So it looks like they just wanted to make this a Kanshi episode. When I saw Kanshi zooming around in the opening, I knew that this chapter would eventually be featured. Wasn't a fan of it, because I just kind of pity Kanshi, he just looks miserable.

Kanshi was so strange this episode. Nico should have been thought about the effects of that potion more thoroughly and not apply it to him.

Maybe if the speed was a bit decreased, it wouldn’t have been like that. But he’s normal now, still affected by time lapse.
