If you could get one manga perfectly adapted in an anime what would it be? I think mine would be Solo Leveling. I know its a basic answer but I think if this had Demon Slayer level animation it would break the anime world. It would be insane. What about you guys? Which would you choose?

Been reading through Holyland and I'm wondering why it hasn't been adapted into an anime yet since it's pretty damn good. Maybe people wouldn't like the narration during fights...

Plus Size Elf, i'd really like to see it animated. It'd be a great addition to the "Monster Girl Ecchi" genre.

Right now, it's Useless Ponko. KyoAni is very well suited to adapt it.

I respectfully disagree; if they couldn't even get Mizukami's first big hit right then they don't deserve to touch Spirit Circle.

Now... Kitchen Princess on the other hand...

Sanchoume Zouhyou Monogatari. It's a comedic reverse isekai where a bunch of warrior girls from different historical periods get transported to modern Japan, and they all decide to freeload in MCs apartment. I loved it, and would be interested in seeing it animated.

OP wrote "Solo Leveling"

1. Isn't it getting adapted already?
2. Ouch the edgyness!
3. Not a manga actually.

My persona choice would be Yotsuba to! or Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou (like full adaptation of it).

Not a manga, but I'd love it if they adapted Another 2001.

If strictly manga probably He Does Not Have Any Friends. (The animated advertisement doesnt count imo)

I'd pick Saikyou Densetsu Kurosawa. But Hideki Taniuchi needs to get out of prison for it to get the kind of adaptation that I want.

I can see an adaption happening eventually, but it's most likely going to be some trash studio, which picks it up. Can't see Mappa or Ufotable picking that up.

Would be, but don't think any studio wants to touch those type of properties. Same reason Oyasumi Punpun won't get an adaption.

I would go with 20th-century boys all the way. But you know how goes it in the business as lots of folks want a flashy action sequence and not something they would wanna scratch their head over.

I want Vagabond anime made by WIT and Tetsurou Araki as an lead director. Studio WIT is my favorite in terms of great combination of dynamic animations, complicated combat scenes and emotional music but their in-studio plots are awful and they tend to make anime which lacks studio strong points.

Eventually more digging is needed to reach the actually good stuff, but the megapopular manhwas stink... At least with manga I know where to dig.
The real question here is why those don't get korean adaptations?

Tbh don't know much about that, I didn't read popular manhwas, nor did I hear anything about Korean cartoons ever.
I heard of Japanese cartoons based on Korean manhwa, but not actually Korean cartoon.

Also "That figures"? lol
I suppose I didn't hide my taste, discounting manhwa not on MAL.

The difference is that those 3 manhwa to anime projects I know of were sponsored (by Crunchy and some chinese companies).
My guess is the korean studios wouldn't risk with what is considered popular in the west. They will adapt only stuff which will get their money back by mainly domestic sales.

JaniSIr said:

It's not about taste, but about you people persisting with manhwa.
Not gonna happen unless some non-japanese company invests a lot of money in such project.

There is a lot I would list but some I would love to see some of these have an anime already but either not a second season or they diviated from the manga:
- Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou
- Ajin
- Claymore
- Dorohedoro
- Alita Battle Angel
- Rosario + Vampire
- Grand Blue (season 2 would be great)
- Land of the Lustrous
- A Brides Tale
- Akame Ga Kill

An actually good adaptation of Berserk

I would also say 20th Century Boys. I'm glad I'm not the only one asking for this.

Another alternative would be Shonan Junai Gumi! and after that remake GTO and its spinoffs. But I have long given up on that ever happening...

Are there actually Korean studios? I've seen Korean movies, but not cartoons.

Roughly 60% of the anime and 70% of the western animations are actually made there.

You mean, "planned in Japan, but animated in Korea". From my head, Pita Ten is a good example. Half of the animators didn't have any Japanese name.

Some Japanese anime that you like might be drawn in Vietnam or did 3D rendering in the Philippines.

I think there is a Korean mahou shoujo anime and I know that SpongeBob and Avatar Airbender animation was done by Korean studios.

I'm reading Oomuro-ke, and it's pretty great, kind of similar to Minami-ke, it's also a spin-off to Yuru yuri, and I really want an anime adaptation of it.
