| Back to Dreamin' On for now was a given since no new opening was announced. the opening was announced for episode 1006. Was a pretty mid episode for most parts. Personally I didn't need the rather long OZ flashback, yet it was definitely apt for those who haven't watched Thriller Bark in a minute. Puts into perspective how much the crew has grownstill think the Numbers ain't quite as huge as OZ Gear 4th feat Drake action at the end was heat. They reallly had a moment there. The manga handled it more casually, but I liked this version as well. The Whitebeard theme also played during Mihawks "Luffy's true ability speech" in Marineford and fits perfectly in this context. Funny enough, back when the chapter dropped the speech also came to mind. FMmatron said: Ah and just gonna mention Mihawk's epic speech during Marineford, Luffy's hidden power kinda striked again. Therefore I liked this moment even more. What's also positive to note is that the anime clarified who Hawkins was referring to(even tho it was admittedly pretty obvious) Fun fact: Diez Drake or X Drake took out Juki. Diez = 10 in spanish, X = 10 in roman numerals. And Juki is the 10th of the Numbers. Btw, how long do you think Toei is gonna keep the current pace (about half a chapter - not quite a chapter per episode). At this rate it's still a long way till Roof Piece 😂 I think it's about time for a full chapter per episode again. |

| One Piece is getting more exciting for me again Loved seeing how far they've become with the power difference of when they defeated the oar back then to now (since a lot of fans questioned how strong they are now and if they can defeat the oar without taking the whole crew.) well there's your answer dreaming on op is back anddd x drake's joining the plot armor, therefore making his survival rate strike up lmao (love that tho) |

| I thought they had made it to the roof last week. Wishful thinking. I had totally forgotten about Drake and Hawkins. For some dumb reason I like Queen and his bad acting. |

| Jeez.. the first half was so slow... And damn the soundtrack that cut off at 12:01 was so weird Aw man the even showed the whole re-cap of the battle with Oars, which is more than 1 minute long... The soundtrack with Luffy going gear 4th was nice But having no Yamato for about 2 episodes straight has made me Yamato sick (homesick or whatever better term is used to describe it) Honestly I am not a fan of zoan type users at all.... |

| I liked the episode very much. I do not care if it is slow. The waiting makes it more worth it for what is to come. I am excited to see what Toei is going to do. X3 |

What episode do u think chapter 1000-1002 will be adapted Based on the status quo I would say around episode 1018-1020. The thing is Toei had to stall more than usual because they wanted Straw Hat crew action for episode 1000. This episode adapted the rest of chapter 990. So if next next episode isn't going to adapt 991 in it's entirety then I stick to my forecast. If they do a whole chapter then chances are good we're gonna see it around episode 1011-1012. However, I saw the preview and imo it looks like they're going to adapt chapter 991 merely up to page 11-12. |

| It was a bit of a slow episode for my liking, and the animation was quite bad in some places. That fight scene vs the giant and the end scene with Drake and the Gear 4th transformation was epic. Probably the best Gear 4th transformation I've seen so far in terms of visuals. |

| The animation is pretty good, I love the direction in this episode with the amazing camera movement when Luffy transformed into Gear 4th. A slow episode, as expected |
| For the most part I enjoyed this episode. Some slow parts, but overall still okay, especially this crazy ending. The Drake part had me surprised. Not that there wasn't a possibility for Queen and Co. to never find out about Drake being a traitor, but the way they staged it was first class acting and I actually didn't see that coming. What I wonder about, does Hawkins act the way he does because he's still scared of Kaido or is he really loyal to him? Anyways, like mentioned the part with OZ wasn't something they had to show again and made the episode definitely slower, but my god. Not only did we see an absolute epic Gear 4th transformation with such an amazing camera movement, also the way they animated this whole scene where Luffy was preparing for his attack and the scene afterwards where Drake and Luffy together, k.o.ed both giants at the same time looked so fucking good, that I got goosebumps. But this surely is just an warm up for what's about to come. I'm curious to see what Nami can do against Ulti. |

| Looks like I wasn't the only one hoping for a new opening XD but if we weren't going to get a new one I wish they stuck with the We Are opening (since I really love that one) we got last week at least until the next new opening is showcased but what can you do. Queen had some great moments as per usual this episode from teaching King the meaning of kindness with his English catchphrases to his incredible acting abilities! Ulti was hilariously all over the place with her emotions in her usual manner looking forward to how she and Nami will be interacting and facing off next time. But, the best parts were Drake getting found out and cornered then remembering Koby's words decides to take a gamble and join the fight with Luffy (always love seeing Supernovas getting time to shine) with the episode showcasing both of their attacks with killer animation style! Interested to see where things will continue from here. |

| LMAO, this episode was ten times better than episode 1000 even with the flashback to Thriller Bark. Actual interesting developments happened. |
| Why is everyone on Twitter raving about the animation towards the end? It wasn't that big of a deal tbh. The episode followed the typical Wano episode formula; show about 12 minutes of slow plot progression, 5 minutes of filler including fodder characters getting wrecked and flashbacks, and then maybe 1 or 2 minutes of good animation/action to give the illusion that the episode was important. That Thriller Bark flashback was so unneeded since we'd seen basically the same flashback a couple episodes ago. While the stuff with Queen and Drake and the rest of the Tobi Roppo was handled pretty well, Queen's punch was the most pathetic thing I've seen in quite some time. Still, this episode was miles better than the last one and that's saying something. |

| Not much progression in this episode other than Drake has been cornered by Queen and his subordinates. But, damn that animation with Luffy Gear Fourth was smooth as hell. Loved that little sequence. Looks like he's gonna go to Luffy's side which is cool I guess. |

| That gear 4th scene looked amazing! Also apparently they fixed something that was too ambigous in the manga: That 1% apparently meant Drake. We got that one line confirmation finally, from the anime. |
| Seems like we're still stuck with the old opening.. Not bad but really expected a new one. Anyway, the pacing was as slow as always. So, only X Drake's betrayal came out in the light and a little bit of sakuga in the end. The bounce man transformation was literally HOT. |

There's Kohei Kurete as well who was directing episode 978 (Worst Generation sea battle), episode 841 (where Luffy clashed with Big Mom) and episode 870 (climax for Luffy vs Katakuri) He was also involved in episode 1000's storyboard. I think we're going to see him again for at least one of these upcoming fight episodes. |

| Damn bro, that scene with Luffy and Drake, the animation on that was top notch even though we had to see an unnecessarily long Thriller Bark flashback to get to it, it was great. Remains to be seen if Luffy accepts Drake fighting with him after just having betrayed the Beast Pirates |
