Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is another worthy GOTY contender I tip my fedora to Sandfall Interactive, excellent debut gentlemen!

The earliest manga that I can recall reading is Pocket Monsters Special. And I definitely think it's worth reading if you're a fan of Pokémon.

I just started manga and the first 2 I read simultaneously. They were Talentless Nana and Deadman Wonderland both of which I enjoyed quite a bit.

I don't remember the name of it but it was something about spirits and sending them through gates and exorcising them?

One Punch Man.

It's not on my manga list because I forgot what chapter I stopped on—Iirc, It's the part where
I tried to search what chapter it was but failed.

Vinland saga, I was upset about the cliffhanger ending in the anime. Manga was worth it though I think it got significantly worse around 100 chapters in, prologue and slave arcs were masterpieces

i think it was either dragon ball or yu yu hakusho. i think dragon ball is worth reading since i consider it to be better than the anime, and from what i read of yu yu hakusho, it's worth a read aswell.

The dragon ball manga was the first manga I've ever read. Do I recommend it? eh, it depends on the person but it's really nostalgic for me.

Don't quite remember since it was at least over 15 years ago but it was either Hellsing or Dragon Ball.

Of the two, Dragon Ball is probably the easier recommendation though.

The first one I read without knowing it was a manga was the Yokai Watch manga, I think that and Pokemon were the franchises that sparked my interest to anime and manga as a whole so it's highly nostalgic

Ohh so it depends that's why when I tried to find it I felt like the scenarios/chapters were kinda not in order.

Thanks a lot. That's the chapter I was looking for. It went back to memory page by page

I will put it on on-hold for now and pick it back up again soon.

Yea, it can be very confusing as the original artwork of One - though the story is good - is not on par to be published in the magazine. However with the collaboration with Murata (who also did the artwork for Eyeshield 21), One Punch Man is then able to be published in Jump in Japan and subsequently being translated to languages of different countries (eg. English, Spanish, French).

The listing of this series on this website is the manga version. The anime is the adaptation from the manga.

I remember like 4 years back in 2017 walking in the book store and heading straight to the manga section just to look and deciding completely randomly to pick up the first 3 volumes of naruto. This is before I had even gotten started with anime and making a mal account. I haven't completed the manga I've only read like the first 12 volumes and only continued on with the anime adaptation because I couldn't keep buying new volumes that often. So yeah I guess that makes naruto my first ever anime and manga.

Gon. It was released in comic book format where I live in the 90s. The first manga I read knowing what a manga was was Death Note.

Edit: Actually... before Death Note, it was Full Metal Alchemist. My friend who liked manga and GNs lent it to me, but I didn't enjoy it that much. It wasn't until the Death Note anime that I dived into the manga. But nowadays I enjoy manga way more than anime.

It was Naruto. Back when I was a kid, I was not into anime. I didn't know that Naruto was an anime, I thought it was just a normal cartoon. After the Naruto was no longer aired on TV, I really, really wanted to know what happened next. And that's how I found out about the existence of manga.

That being said, I've never been into manga. It's because most manga that I had been interested in reading were not finished. Then, my tastes changed and I started losing interest in anime industry generally, the whole Japanese vibe - you know, the loser and indecisive MC, the almost obligatory harem etc. So I changed my focus to Chinese/Korean webnovels. Usually they have better much, much better main characters than Japanese novels/mangas have.

While other people grew up watching Cartoon Network, I grew up watching Doraemon. Which is probably why I have not connection with American cartoons.

The first one I ever read is more of a technicality than a true answer: it was bleach, but I only skimmed it at my friends house in middle school. My first real read through of a manga was one piece, because I caught up to the anime.
