Does anyone feel the same?
Idk its hard to describe

Black Clover is much better dubbed than subbed IMO (I know a lot of people had problems with Asta’s screaming). I also prefer One Piece (not 4Kids) and Naruto dubs over sub. I don’t know, maybe I just personally prefer long shounens to be dubbed than subbed.

Apart from the obvious stuff like Cowboy Bebop and Baccano

My Hero Academia
Deathnote
Code Geass
Fairy Tail - has one of the better dubs imo. Todd Haberkorn absolutely nailed Natsu in this one
Assassination Classroom
All have great dubs

Food Wars & Konosuba
I just think the comedy lands better.
Also you get moments like everyone from Megumi's hometown having a redneck accent just because they're from rural Japan. That stuff is amazing.

If dub feels good then it feels good. Why should you feel conflicted describing about it? It is not like every single dub voice actor is a talent-less two-bit chump with a thankless job. There are talented people everywhere, even if they happen to be fewer in number.

Shows where I will any day prefer the English dubs over traditional Japanese dub + English subs are:

1) Cowboy Bebop
2) Baccano
3) Death Parade
4) Fullmetal Alchemist
5) Dragon Ball series
6) Code Geass
8) Attack on Titan
9) Trigun
10) Gankutsuou: Count of Monte Cristo
11) Inu Yasha (Animax asia dub, impossible to find it now).
12) Yu Yu Hakusho (Animax asia dub, impossible to find it now).

Yeah, it happens to me all the time. Sometimes (English) dubs are AMAZING. Series, where I've seen both subbed and dubbed versions, and prefer the dub, would be SAO, HxH (2011), Fate/Stay Night UBW and Heaven's Feel, Naruto/Shippuden, Golden Kamuy, KonaSuba, High Score Girl, Saiki K, and March Comes in Like a Lion.

There are many that I prefer dubbed. For example, the English dub of Black Lagoon and Cowboy Bebop are both outstanding imo, and I can't watch them any other way.

Since I'm a dub watcher, I feel that most dubs are better. Although I think even sub watchers will like the dub of 91 days and Monster or the dub of any other anime that takes place outside Japan

If I can find a show that has the reputation for having quite a good dub, then I'll give it a go. I'm currently watching Gurren Lagann dubbed. It's easier for me to relax and focus more on the animation and what's happening. And sometimes, the dub is much better and more fitting than the sub (which I've put * next to it as an indication).

Other favorites and what I'd recommend checking out:

  • Ghost Stories*
  • FMAB*
  • Steins;Gate
  • Code Geass*
  • Death Note
  • Naruto + Shippuuden*
  • Ghibli films (because of Disney level VAs)
  • Cowboy Bebop*
  • Baccano!*
  • Redline*
  • Space Dandy*
  • Panty and Stocking*
  • Konosuba (only seen a couple of eps in English, still very enjoyable)
  • Samurai Champloo
  • Count of Monte Cristo*
  • Black Lagoon*
  • Soul Eater*
  • DxD*
  • Fate series
  • Prison School
  • Ouran*
  • Railgun/Index*
  • Demi-chan
  • Clannad*

Honestly Fairy Tail is in my list of the top ten best english dubs of all time. I watched all of the tartaros arc, avatar arc, and alvarez arc in Japanese and it wasn't the same. Not to say the Japanese version is bad far from it but the English voices are the first voices I hear when I think of these characters so naturally they are my preferred voice for the cast. Heck I'm rewatching the whole show now so I can see those arcs in English finally.

I've watched a large number of shows dubbed and I generally enjoy dubs.

https://www.anime-planet.com/users/GlennMagusHarvey/lists/anime-i-watched-or-am-watching-dubbed-130276

Feel free to ask me about any of these. Overall I generally liked my experience with most of these.

Oddly, this list does not include the typical shows that people mention for dubs (e.g. Baccano and Cowboy Bebop) because I haven't actually watched those yet.
Avatar character is Gabriel from Gabriel DropOut.

Cowboy Bebop and Black Lagoon both have amazing dubs.

I thought Michiko to Hatchin's and Hataraku Maou-sama's dubs were pretty solid, too.

I prefer the dub of Death Note to the sub. I also liked the dub of Yamada-kun to 7 nin no Majo a lot more than the sub. But usually, the dubs are worse than the subs.

For English

Pokemon, Cardcaptors (Original first air dub with the english names), Yu Gi Oh.

For Cantonese. (For Some I never bothered with the Japanese dub)

City Hunter, Cardcaptors, Detective Conan, Yu Yu Hakusho, Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Kimengumi, Shouryuuden, Nintama, Ranma 1/2, Attack on Titan, Lost Universe, Crayon Shin Chan, Slam Dunk, GS Mikami............

Than there are dubs that I find to be equal to the Original.

Gintama Cantonese to Gintama Japanese.
Sora Demo Machi Cantonese to Japanese.
Hunter X Hunter Cantonese to Japanese.
Ghibli Dubs tend to be equal throughout.

I prefer Dragon Ball Z in English dub than I do in it's original language. Goku's voice sounds a little screechy for me in the original language.

Attack on Titan's English dub has an awesome cast. Almost everyone sounds similar to it's Japanese counterpart & it's the easiest one that you can jjump from dub to sub & vice versa.

There are tons of anime I prefer dubbed. Steins;Gate's probably the main one because I don't like Mamoru Miyano very much. There's Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo for obvious reasons, and most Shounen's as well, like Naruto, which was the first anime I ever saw and so I saw it dubbed. That's also why it took me so long to get round to Shippuden because I wanted to watch the whole thing dubbed for consistency's sake.

The average dub is pretty mediocre but it's very annoying how weebtards care so much about what language you watch it in, they should go crawl in a hole or something. Hellsing Ultimate, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo and Dragon Ball Z are the best dubs I've heard but besides DBZ I wouldn't say if they're better than their subs cos I haven't seen their subs.

Anyone who prefers Black Lagoon subbed deserves to get shot in the arm with a .45.

Other than that, it depends on the genre.

I’ve watched both versions, and I love the dub ALOT. But every time rock speaks I just hear Light Yagami and it gets on my nerves.

The only two I can think of is:

Sarazanmai: The English voice actors are objectively better singers. The Japanese VAs are flat on the high notes and it's grating especially because the songs are in every episode. There's a lot of wacky stuff going on, plus it looks really pretty so it's just easier to watch it dubbed so you can focus on the visuals. Also, the pun "Otterly sexy" is hilarious and you miss out on it if you don't watch the dub. I will go to my grave swearing that the dub is better.

Inuyasha: Richard Ian Cox IS Inuyasha. You cannot change my mind and I am very attached to him being Inuyasha especially because it's my favourite show and Inuyasha is my favourite character. If he doesn't come back for the upcoming sequel it's going break my heart. He says he wants to come back to do it so fingers crossed.

Other than that, I can't really think of any where I have a huge preference for dubbed.

If every dub were as good as the one for Haruhi I wouldn't watch sub, however most dubs are bad and 99% of the anime I watch is subbed.

I watch quite a few dubs but I definitely prefer Japanese in most cases.
The only two I can think of where I can't imagine watching the subbed version are DBZ and Rurouni Kenshin, though there are a few others that I can't imagine liking more than the dub, but you never know until you try.
Funny enough I like both versions of Black Lagoon and Cowboy Bebop equally.

For me it's just FMA/Brotherhood and Death Note. I only watched dubs when I first started watching, but now I never do. Dubbed anime voice acting is so different to Western cartoons and not in a good way.

Also, Ghost Stores because funny.

I prefer dub mostly. It's not like I hate sub, I actually really enjoy sub and have no issues with it. I only watch dub because it doesn't sound bad. Most people who watch subbed probably bash on people watching dub because it sounds cringe but in all honesty, I don't feel that way at all.

I’ve been watching Food wars lately, and I’m enjoying the dub a lot more then the few episodes I watched in Japanese.

They got some solid actors for this one ☝️
