Do you guys watch or skip them? Some people use MAL to keep track of which episodes they are up to and some use it to track how many episodes of a series they watched. But if you skip them and you mark a show as completed all of those episodes are still counted towards your time watched statistic so MAL will make it seem like you watched more than you actually did.
On the other hand it's just a waste of time if it doesn't even progress the story.
I watch them but i don't like to whch is why i stopped watching naruto for a bit and started one piece and zatch bell. but the latter has a lot of filler even to it's last episodes. So i can't even skip them if i want to or i'll never finish the show. But back to the question: watch them or skip them?

I would only watch them if a character I like is in it. Other than that, I usually just skip it.

Fillers destroy the rhythm of an anime.

I watch it unless it's pure recap. Sometimes "filler" episodes can have great character development, and they are often more comedic than the episodes focused only on furthering the plot.

Just a note since you referenced Zatch Bell, if you mean very end anime fillers they are kind of a strange example. Because they contain canon elements but they weren't done in the same fashion as the manga.

OT: I always watch everything.

I skip the parts flip to episodes where the action and real plot starts
And it's an automatic 5 well starts at 5 since I skipped parts

For example KHR I starred at episode 20

I usually avoid anime with a lot of fillers in the first place. I don't like skipping episodes to be honest.

I use animefillerlist to figure out what is not original material, and if its clear that it will not further the main plot, develop characters aside from them screwing around, and not be interesting or funny, I skip it and list the episode as completed. It sucks, but I have to take my MAL episode count with a grain of salt. I'd rather do that instead of forcing myself through who knows how many tedious episodes.

I hate them. Fillers ruined naruto (well, after the pein arc it was shit in the manga too, so) Anyway, fillers are soooo annoying. If no manga, anime should go for a break. 2-3 months maybe

I stopped watching anime with filler, they're so boring to me.

But since now some shows of the shows i read the manga for are either ending, or getting better i might have to start watching the anime

I don't understand the hate for filler here on MAL. Plot shoved into every episode is tiring, and too fast. A little filler here and there, not too much, can give a nice separation and give a more realistic feel. Of course if the filler is hastily written and isn't very good I understand.

If there's a useless/filler episodes, then the series goes bad.

A series must be whole. I don't care about their technical limitations. If I have to look up message boards to know which episodes to skip, the series is bad.

If it's a single filler episode that's used for a moment of fun I wouldn't mind too much. If we're talking 100 fillers, then the series can go to hell.

I don't usually watch things with hardcore filler. If it's a recap episode I usually look up whether or not it actually has any new footage or information.

Considering I don't know if something is filler until a certain amount into an episode, I usually watch it but it could be grounds to drop a show if it doesn't get back on track right away.

I tend to watch it anyway, sometimes they're not that bad... Maybe I'm just really patient

Recap episodes I can't stand, specially since I usually marathon a series so I don't need that episode to tell me what I've just watched (last time it happened was with Arslan Senki)

If its a long run series i probably skip it, since mostly of them dont add anything and some only puts some phantom fuel into the ship.
If its a normal run, i will not even notice that it was filler, but if i do, i will not watch it, this includes when the anime dont follow the original material.

What's the point watching an anime if I skip episodes?
I'll watch them. But if they're boring or too many, I'll probably drop the whole series.

i skip them at first watch. later if i liked the anime so much, ran out of episodes and started missing its character in my life, i'll watch them.

there are some exception like hunterXhunter 1999 that i didn't even felt it was fillers and watched it as part of anime since it was so good.

fillers are only relevant in shounen long runners which thankfully i dont follow

in shorter series, "they are a part of the series" is the best answer, obviously

I watch the filler since it's part of the anime. Some anime have filler that is funny or is short, so I don't mind them. Other anime has lengthy filler that is a terrible waste of time, but either way if I'm watching the series I'll watch the filler eps too. That way I can tell people if a show is good despite the filler or if it's got too much or whatever.

I completely bypass recap eps, though. I can understand a recap if a show has been off the air for a couple years or something (like I'd expect to see one if AoT ever comes back), but there have been a couple series that have only had like 12 eps with no break in the season but they throw in a "episode 8.5" or some nonsense. It's like, how little attention do you think your audience has?

On topic:

I watch filler episodes if the characters I'm intellectually or emotionally invested in are in it. I get eye-gasms every time I see them on screen e_e

I don't watch filler if it's just a bunch of recaps (characters that I like can no longer convince me to watch in this case)

I just watch them. Keep in mind that the only anime I have watched where people have complained about the filler are Shugo Chara!, Cardcaptor Sakura (it really just pads out the story rather than taking away from it), and Railgun (it's kinda slice of life anyway, I think). The only one of these that I didn't enjoy the filler from was Shugo Chara!, but even then I didn't actually know which episodes were filler and it doesn't seem like too many other people know either (this requires having read the manga first and then watched the anime while taking note of which episodes aren't canon, and it doesn't seem like everyone is able to agree upon which episodes are filler). I don't plan to watch any of the big three anytime soon.

It depends if I care about the show or not. I watched all D.Gray man fillers but I didn't hesitate to skip some Yu-Gi-Oh fillers. Though, for Yugi-Oh it's kinda hard to tell which episodes are fillers or not...

I tend to skip ahead through the episode if I feel like it's not going anywhere, just to see if it actually does. If it doesn't, I'd probably drop it and move onto the next.

I'll watch it if it's interesting enough. Some shows make fillers super funny, or they focus on a side story for that episode that stems from the manga, but if it's too boring, or doesn't seem like it would be worth it, I skip it.
