MAL has become a twisted survival game, and only one will walk away alive. How do you play?
| Since survival games are the flavor of the hour, apparently (SAO, Mirai Nikki, BTOOOM!, Hunger Games, Danganronpa, etc.), so I thought we'd turn MAL into a survival game and see how people would deal with it. So here are the rules: (1) Only one person is going to walk away from this game alive. (2) If at least one person is not killed in a 24-hour period of time, everyone will die. (3) The setting of this little survival game will be the large modern MAL campus, a unique university where students can choose their own courses of study. (4) You cannot leave the confines of the MAL campus or your explosive collar (which cannot be removed) will be detonated, so fleeing from the situation is not an option. (5) You start the game with whatever you want, but you have to be able to carry it (food, weapons, etc.) (6) There is no upper time limit on the game, the game ends when only one (or no) person is left alive. Now that all the basics are out of the way: What starting gear/weapons would you choose? Which other MAL users would you initially ally yourself with, if any? How would you play the game, would you seek to beat the system itself, or play by the rules and kill your fellow MALers? Are there particular MAL users that you would avoid, protect, or choose to immediately eliminate if possible? What areas of the MAL campus would you utilize in order to carry out your plans? Your future hangs in the balance. 3. 2. 1. Go. |

| A knife or machete seems good when I need to defend myself. I'd rather just wait it out and hide then go and actively kill anyone. I can run pretty fast so that's one good thing about me but if it comes to fighting someone I'm sure I'll die. |

My plan would be to eliminate those who are aggressively playing the game and then try to beat the system somehow with the people who are left. Probably this will mean I end up getting shot in the back. Oh well. As far as gear goes, I'd want: A 12-gauge autoloading shotgun, probably a Saiga-12, with an offset 4x scope for combat at longer ranges. A variety of shells: 00 buckshot and slugs, but nothing nonlethal. A taser for nonlethal work. A combat knife. A canteen, protein bars, and chia seeds for nutrition. A few frag grenades for booby traps and equalization. A bunch of combat gauze with anticoagulants for dealing with traumatic battle wounds. There are several people here with military/combat training. These ones I'd keep an eye on, and take them out as soon as it can be confirmed that they are "playing." Renly is probably gonna be an ally, since lupadim is such a white knight type I can't see him becoming a bad guy in this little game. RedArmyShogun, I see him as being that guy who allies with you, but can you really trust him long term to have your back? We'll see. I'll shoot lime_ first. No offense or anything, I just don't wanna get nailed from behind. |

| I'm not sure what winning a game like that would even be. Btooom, Hunger Games, Battle Royale all come to mind. I would ally myself with my friends list (the lucky few). I assume the others would begin killing each other. When it came down to it, and my group was all that survived (hopefully) we would just draw lots each day until the final person survived. This is all assuming there is no way to actually circumvent the game. I believe there is always a way, so that isn't exactly how I think it would go down. But given the rules, that would be my ideal circumstances. In terms of gear, there would be a list. Mostly, rations some interspersed weaponry. Nothing too much. Maybe a tank? |

| I'd probably take tools, survival knife, lots of food and go solo (anyone can betray your ass in these kind of games, and you don't always get lucky enough to pair up with Jackrabb1t's or OnlyEpix's). I'd go for an area I know like the back of my pocket and place booby traps everywhere around the perimeter, then hide. |

| Since I've had really nothing else to do. I choose other btw, fight the system that constructed the game and not kill anyone. Question though, how many people would be participating? All 2,000,000 users? Or just the select few who reply to this thread? What starting gear/weapons would you choose? Ogio No Drag Mach 1 backpack, Phillips&Flathead screwdrivers *small*, wire cutters, electrician gloves, stainless steel lock pick set, blueprints of the building, 100ft rope, 1 zippo lighter, dressing forceps, rubbing alcohol, bandages, tape, clear tape, TP, Fenix TK70, tactical knife, tactical watch, bag of 100 zip ties, some poppers, 2 Klean Kanteen 64 oz.(don't know if campus has water), 5 FSR ration, 1 jar of peanut butter, 1 bag of dried fruit, 2 way radio, full face reusable gas mask, bulletproof vest, 2 thermal goggles, pair of tonfa, 2 grenade pouch, 5 tear gas grenades, 5 stun grenades, 5 smoke grenades, 2 tasers, prototype long range stun gun and a few good books/manga. Which other MAL users would you initially ally yourself with, if any? No one honestly, don't know the true intentions of anyone until it's usually to late. Though never know so just in case I got a 2 way radio. How would you play the game By my rules of course =P oh and stealthily. First thing I would do is find somewhere I could hide for the day. Maybe in the ceiling panels of a locked room. While I waited I would attempt to disable the collar explosive. If I couldn't then I would short it out and hope it didn't explode. After that once it got close to dark I would leave my designated hiding spot. If no one was around I'd leave some tape as a marker for whenever I got back. Would then proceed to cut all the power to the campus through the use of my blueprints. After that I would probably sit and wait it out. Though if I ever caught someone out on their own. I would disarm and disable them with the zip ties. Then proceed to disarm their collar as well as tell them how. Then release them and move locations and see how things play out. Oh and if the game played out a long time I would probably start stealing supplies from people instead of using my own :). What areas of the MAL campus would you utilize in order to carry out your plans? Dark secluded area's where people wouldn't think or be to cautious to go. |

MultiVits one bottle. Water Purification tablets, one bottle, I will want to avoid making fires in this situation, protien, chocholate bars, or even butter. I will depend on the multivits for my nutriants and the other stuff is for the needed calorie intake. I won't have time in the Field to prepair a meal and I would like to travel light. General Gear is plastic bagging Material tied down, snare wire, straps, and foilage colored nets. Depending on enviroment "Urban" camo, Russian FSB Tiger Stripe, or German Flecktarn are all fantastic choices, for psycholigical warfare purposes I will also be carrying a balaclava, a lighter, salt, lemon juice, and a skull face mask with a german styel steel helm. And finally a quick detach rucscack, bino's, and steel toed boots. Weaponary will be a combination of a M91/30s rifle, a AKM battle rifle, Combat/utlity knife, 12 throwing knives, caltrops, and lastly a specialized hand spade. TLDR down below. Short version. Avoid all contact or attempts to make contact, Scout, Identify, annihilate, play the piper, clean up, chin up, head down, Condition one. Only pick expendable allies. Keep on the move minus my safe zone, short of a few important people let you all kill each other, while I take out the most important ones only. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Edit for typo's think I got them all >> Tired honestly. Edit 2 I also voted other. As I said I rather stop the situation and I don't care to win, but I won't go down without a fight. Most people I was with i would make kill each other till the numbers fall to my advantage, at which point i take whats left of the group and make the easiest to break kill their friends and break him/her. Once everyone has finished their open warfare and there is only a few people left I stab a few of them in the back when they think im playing the lost victim and for the final person I will simple beat in a vicious fight to the death, luckily I would have saved all my energy unlike the other who had spent all night fighting other people. Victory. Some people I would lure close the the perimeter and kick them out of it for fun, watch then try to get back in before their heads explode ^_^ I would also pick one of those white knight hero types and have sex with him and make him fall in love with me just so I can watch his heart break when i betray him. After he has killed for me of course. |
