I live a suburbs full of old people and little children. In the past 17 years, absolutely nothing of note has happened here that would make it unsafe.

It's boring.
☕ Truth be told, I'm quite proud of my house blend. To attain my flavor and fragrance, I use five different types of coffee beans. ☕

its really mixed, my actual neighborhood is fairly fine though we had a thief who robbed about 9 houses last year and no one never caught him, and a kid pulled a knife on me when i was young but aside from that its pretty quiet, now if you go out on the road for about 5 minutes you pass by a couple ghettos and then end up in a place called dundalk where theres a ton of crime, druggies, a couple low brow (poser) gangs and a whole load of weirdos. its mainly low brow crime but its not necessarily safe.

so its kind of ehh, like its not super likley anyone would get murdered but if there was one i dont think wed ever be surprised

You can hear gunshots around here too. But that's because there's the police headquarters(? Don't know the translation of "procuraduría"

It's relatively safe. Although if I accidentally leave my car unlocked at night, the next day I'll find that someone searched my car for valuables and stole them. It's happened several times.

I could probably pass out in the streets and the odds of me being violated/robbed are about 10%, and the odds of me being left alone are 98%, so I'd say they're pretty safe. Moreso than other places, for sure. We don't get many murders in a year, that's the advantage of living in a town of 15k.

Very safe. I can walk on the streets in the middle of night no problem.

Very safe, we have a strong police presence here and rarely does anything happen. I don't think there has been an homicide here in years. My neighborhood is really nice, it is quiet and there is the occasional car sound here and there, also a few barks from the dogs and very very rarely a party. Besides that the only thing that I sometimes hear during the evening is a friend of mine playing drums at his house. There hasn't ever been any problem here.

Love it.

Well, inside the FOB probably close to 100% safe minus some sketchy looking Afghan nationals that walk around with their beards and turban things. . .

Outside the FOB? Probably a 90% chance I'd be shot on sight and 10% chance I'd step on an IED on the way to being shot . . . hence the reason we're not allowed to just waltz outside the wire....

Well according to http://www.city-data.com/ it's decently safe. Crime rate here for 2012 was 260.3 and the average US crime rating is 298.9.

very safe, live in a college town about 3 miles away from campus where it's just a couple suburb communities and farms/dirt roads. I've gone on plenty of runs after midnight when my sleep schedule has me up that late

Very safe, just watch out for fraudulent contractors and such, there's a lot of scam artists around mostly centered around home repair and taxes.

Looking at a map site I know of that tracks crime rates over numerous area's from a scale of 1-100, 100 being safest

My whole region goes from a 4 to a 12 at best.

So not very.

Edit a 0 to 12 lol

I live in the "retirement" area of Florida, so absolutely no crime. You have to worry about old people running off the road and hitting you more than anything.

I live in a place with high crime rate and poverty. A kid from my school got shot and killed 6 months ago I think. And I remember playing at the park and two men pull out guns and started shooting each other.... very scary moments.

Safe enough in my neighborhood, I guess. I run late at night all the time and have never had any issues. I think I'm more likely to be attacked by dogs or hit by a startled deer than to get mugged here. (I actually did almost run into a deer one time while running...)

That being said, there was a big drug bust at the house next door a couple years back. Cops seized everything from pot to heroin to a whole arsenal of illegal firearms. Front page news.

This place is still a bit rural even though it is in the "Black Triangle" - the area between Frederick, Baltimore, and Washington DC. Here and in Frederick it's mostly rednecks, not very dangerous just clinically stupid usually. Baltimore, well. I don't go there at night on a regular basis though. DC, eh. Probably about as bad as Baltimore in places, though the only places I've been to in DC are touristy spots.

The fucked up thing about my neighborhood is the fact that my family members told me it's a bad neighborhood because it's mainly Hispanics and African Americans, but the only time any drama ever happens around here is when my only white neighbor's son pisses off his drug dealers, or some slutty white chicks come over and start shit between their x's. My ethnic neighbors tend to only contribute to how good the neighborhood smells around dinner time.

I used to walk home at 2-3 AM fairly often and nothing particularly eventful ever happened. A homeless guy once asked me what time it was, but I had my headphones in so I didn't hear him. As I was walking away, he yelled (and I heard him this time), "I just asked for the time, you fucking asshole!" Needless to say, I just kept walking. But that's about it.
