Okay, recently I have started listening to a lot of K-POP music, mostly boybands. I'm just sort of curious if anyone else here listens to it and if they have any recommendations or favorite Korean musicians they would like to talk about.

Also, what does everyone think of K-POP (compared to Western music)? To me, K-Pop is a lot catchier than most American pop music, but I'm not sure if it's my inability to understand any Korean that makes me focus on they sound of each song. I've also found that most K-POP music videos make me laugh because honestly they are mostly very corny.

Bigbang, Super Junior, SHINee, Epik High, 2PM

Decent 'guy' groups

KPOP is fun to listen to once in a while..Definitely a little bit more interesting than Western music.

My current favorite korean song:

I kinda do, it's really on and off. I've been listening to it ever since 2007, so it's been awhile now. I like Big Bang and 2NE1 the best. Mostly all of DBSK's songs are amazing (pity they broke up) and a new-ish boyband that is extremely good is Beast. I also really like CNBLUE, Brown Eyed Girls, Davichi, and Miss A. Most of SM Ent's groups have extremely shitty songs but for some reason they're the most popular (SNSD, SuJu, f(x), SHINee). Their style, especially SuJu, is way too autotuned and synthetic sounding for me to like.

For a first timer into k-pop I'd recommend all of Big Bang's classics, especially Haru Haru, Lies, Last Farewell, etc. DBSK too; I can't name one specific song to listen to because they're all so great - but they're most known for their amazing ballads. 2NE1 is a group with amazing songs, namely I Don't Care, Lonely, and Ugly. 2PM is a group that has mainstream songs that basically appeal to many people. Try Again & Again, Heartbeat, I'll Be Back, I Go Crazy Because of You, and Hands Up. Lastly, Beast is kinda like 2PM in terms of mainstream songs but they've got a more "clean" image. Honestly, whenever Beast has a comeback I can expect the song to be extremely good. I'd recommend Mystery, Fiction (must listen), Shock, Midnight, I Knew It, Breath, and On Rainy Days (must listen).

gotta go old school with this 1

NEETs (No Employment Education Training) are the least desirable people anybody would want to hire and yet they are the first choice to become moderators/admins around the internet. They have yet to have established a sense of responsibility or role in society and many are plain leeches (with minor exceptions). They are given "authority" to police sections of the internet with the powers of The Judge, Jury, and Executioner. Isn't that weird?

Let's not bloody new listeners with the politics shall we?

They will listen to all the "bad"' SM ENT groups and they shall judge for themselves if they enjoy their MUSIC or not.

The one thing that I disliked about the whole K-POP music scene were the fanboy/fangirl wars sparked by subjective opinions.

I don't listen to Korean music often, but earlier this year I discovered a few artists I like ranging from indie to pop. All the music videos I've seen however, weren't corny, but that might be attributed to the artists and type of music though.
I like leeSA, No Reply, Ailee, Wonder Girls, and 2NE1

J-pop's got so much more meaning than K-pop, which is only selling because of their image.

I don't actively seek out k-pop but if I find a song like then I'll listen to it.

I much rather listening to anime OST though.

This is my favorite remix of k-pop tho I prefer DJ Amaya remixes when it comes to k-music. Otherwise can't stand any pop-song, but SNSD is my love.

Yeah, ofc! :D I pretty much don't listen anything else beside KPOP. Well, still Japanese music sometimes, but KPOP really is THE THING for me. I mean, through KPOP I've found Kdramas, and I watch them more than anime now. But I don't want to forget anime either, so now I'm watching anime again :D

My life is almost only KPOP these days. My favourite bands are Super Junior, U-KISS, Infinite, BIGBANG, EXO, LEDApple, Cross Gene and B1A4. I don't really listen to girl groups but 2NE1 is ok.

I like both Korean and Japanese music, but if I didn't find songs through anime OP/EDs and AMVs, there'd be more Korean music I listen to. My favourite artists would be Super Junior, SHINee, F.T. Island, Inifinite, CN Blue, U-Kiss, Boyfriend, Teen Top, BEAST, SS501, Big Bang, G-Dragon, MBLAQ, and most of all TVXQ and JYJ. TVXQ as five back then is probably my favourite ever band since I even memorised their names, voices and such XD I also listen to songs of female artists however I don't feel I listened to enough to list them...

Occasionally I listen to BIGBANG. And some Super Junior.

I used to be a crazy K-Pop fangirl. I really enjoyed listening to BEAST/B2ST, 2NE1, and the like. Don't know what happened, though. Now I just listen to K-Pop when I have to (i.e. my friends make me listen to them).

I thought BoA was one of those extremely popular "old-school" stars. I have listened to some of her songs, and I really do like it. I like how she's pretty fluent in English. She can dance pretty well, too. :D

I used to listen to some K-Pop back in my teens. I'm still somewhat of a fan of Panic and still think Kim Jin Pyo has the best consistent flow. The only other four K-Indie I listen to are W & Whale, Casker, Fanny Fink and Lucid Fall. I like mellow music rather than all that loud flashy stuff. It's so jung sheen up suh!
