If it isn't more obvious by now, Arthur wants to live to his own expectations.

One of the more important part about his training and self improvement is to control the power in him. Much harder said than done but I think he's on the right path. Having someone like Tessia by his side helps alot too. The two are getting along more and more each day.

Can't believe the King continues to sing the same tune even in this episode, and Tessia had to give him the same reply about Arthur being her savior and having saved her twice. Virion has taken quite a liking to Arthur, but that doesn't mean he'll go easy on him during training.

Arthur's parents had it rough after he fell from the cliff and they couldn’t do anything to save him, but now that they know he’s alive, I’m sure they’re more than relieved. And Alice’s tummy looks a lot rounder—feels like a month or two has passed or something.

Tessia and Arthur went on a visit around town, shared many cute moments, and we got to see our generic bully character who naturally gets his ass handed to him after challenging Arthur to a duel.

From the post-credit scene, now that we got a 3-year skip, does that mean Arthur's training is completed and his journey back home will begin? Tessia looks rather cute.

Cool ep, seeing him speak to his parents was pretty heart warming,i also like we got to see what a elf market center can look like, i feel like elf cities are underrepresented in media, curious to see what he learned in 3 years, he's 8 yo now right? he looks a bit older like 12 though

At least getting to see Arthur contact with his parents is heartwarming. And it seems like they're all safe.

No nothing special. But more scenes were added that were not in the webcomic.

Yes.
I think they are more inclined towards the novel. I would say it is a very faithful adaptation and almost every scene is taken.

Surprisingly not a powerpoint episode, all the way through they were actually moving.. Sure it's not great, but it's the best compared to any other episode we've seen so far.

Good episode story telling wise, again the soundtracks and story material are great. It did feel a little rushed towards the second half but it's still nice.

Sick post credit scene too: the character designs for the time skip actually look good

As someone who just watching to clown on this series, i am pleasantly surprise, nothing i cant bad talk about this episode, Maybe because there is no heavy action scene, this episode is quite pleasant. The Carriage cgi blend well and there seems to be more frame than earlier episode? They even animating Tessia get down from Arthur and Arthur changing. 3/5 episode!

@ropiel I think so, since Tessia was 6 years old and 3 years have passed, now Tessia is 9 years old, although I know how old Arthur was when they met. Tessia, 1 year older than Arthur

this shows pacing is abysmal. halfway in before anything actually happens they've padded things out way too much. Hopefully this time skip marks a change in the story flow (but I doubt it). This clearly wasn't a series that required a longer running season. web comics usually have less overall content than a manga/Light novel, and make for better 12ep seasons with faster progression. (Less overall content to develop) otherwise you end up with this slow crawl of story progression that only hurts the overall experience. So much of the padding content wise could just be alluded to without hurting the viewing experience. It seems like there's a decent story there, but this pace has just been awfully stretched out.

I'm glad Tessia finally has a true friend... 😭😭😭
.
..
...They finally became teenagers... 😳😳
Tessia is so cute...

P.S. Time skipping is a sick joke of adding more plot holes... man, I'd love it if they didn't do that kind of thing.

It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

Ooh, a time skip, noice. Really curious about where the story goes from here.

Yeah, the animation is abysmal but now that the ambition levels on that front has been set , I'm actually enjoying the story. And I like the slow pace. Don't need combat scenes in every episode to make me happy.

The scene with him communicating with his parents was low key touching.

Leaving the bad animation work aside the show is just boring, I can deal with the soulless character designs and all but the thing is just so incredibly slow and boring that in my opinion is the worst sin for any kind of entertainment regardless of the medium, you can have all the flaws possible expect not being entertaining

We finally did it boys, we finally had an animated hit on the show with that punch, sure it was only half of the punch but its a good start for half way through the season, maybe by episode 12 we'll have a fully animated attack.

Tessia has single handedly made this watchable for me. She is so cute. Doesn't change with time skip. Arthur looks far far better aswell now.
Didn't really liked how 3 years just passed like that. But they will probably show glimpses later.

That parents reunion should be far better in my mind. Like losing the trauma of your only kid is much worse. The joy and disbelief also should have been more. Still it's a nice wholesome scene. I hope they meet soon.

Reading the novel & manhwa made me realise how slowwwwww the anime is gonna go ofc im not expecting to see 100+ chapters covered in one season but yeah it just dawned upon me. Anyways, best course of action for the anime is do a “Our Last Crusade” and just cease broadcasting and start again with a new studio it’s giving the story a bad name and it genuinely makes me sad

Decent episode. Loved how Virion was all like, "Tessia's such a recluse and all," when it didn't show one bit. What are you on about, Virion? I’m not dismissing what she went through, but there haven’t been any signs of emotional walls since this character debuted, my guy. What you on about, Virion?

Virion aside, I’m really glad Arthur got to talk to his parents. I’m especially happy for them since they must’ve been in a state of grief after the bandit ambush, only to suddenly receive a call from their son, who they thought was dead, but actually isn’t. He calls a few days later to say he needs treatment, but it’s not that bad, and he’s staying with the elves until it’s over. Plus, he tells them not to blame themselves, and if he could go back in time, he’d do it all over again, even if it meant killing himself. I was surprised they agreed to such a proposal since, if that was all Arthur said, his parents should have rejected his stay with the elves entirely. But I guess they were in a state of shock and relief, so it’s understandable. Glad for both of you.

Reynolds and Alice aside, I’m glad the elven king finally accepted Arthur, apologized, and let him hang out with his daughter. I’m glad he’s not delusional but actually realizes that he’s quite stubborn, yet still accepted Arthur. Happy for both of you.

The elven king aside, I loved when Arthur roasted the heck out of the blonde elven brat, with Tessia trying hard not to laugh, immediately followed by Arthur one-punch-knocking the brat out. Satisfaction maxed out, I swear to God.

The elven brat aside, hats off to Natsumi Fujiwara. Her post-ending scene transitioning from kid Arthur to teen Arthur was absolutely, literally phenomenal. Seriously, chapeau. In any case, excited for how Arthur is gonna control whatever Kurama-type sh!!, that's inside of him.

...I...Um...I guess that was an alright episode this week.
Nothing too major just a nice chat with the parents and a fight with some noble kid.
Although I gotta say that noble kid's friends were the ugliest elves I've ever seen in any media.

Sadly still no sight of the hilariously animated wolf from episode 4 :{

The episode was called "The King's Training" so I spent the whole episode waiting to actually see what Grandpa Elf was going to teach him, but then they kept stretching it out with the long pans and periods of silence between dialogue. And then we just skipped ahead 3 years so we didn't see a single goddamn frame of him actually training!

Despite Tessia's parents' worries about breaking the long-standing traidtion, Arthur following Virion to find the mysterious friend of his: Diviner sorcerer Rinis Darcassan, to help him contact his parents being away from home, the married couple soon get their relief hearing their son's voice and learning that he's well. With that, the apprenticeship can finally start between Virion and Arthur.

Even withh Tessia's parents still being wary of Arthur, Tessia's reassurance and Virion's proof of accountability finally allows him to rest in the elvish town. In the meantime, Arthur's sense of sarcasm growing through little pests like the elf nobility of Feyrith Ivsaar, and the time spent with the princess's ever-growing interest in him, and ultimately Virion's apprenticeship, the growing kid is more than ready to accept whatever life throws at him in the foreign land.

Season 1 of the web novel is officially adapted at this stage, and with the 3-year timeskip, Tessia and Arthur's relationship is coming to a head. The story going into Season 2 will be a long run...
