So they did go with a big fight for the season finale after all. Probably Fate's toughest one yet. It seems Myne was trying to keep her promise until Roxy interfered at the last minute.

Such an underwhemling ending with a flashback between Fate/Roxy and Fate continuing his adventures. I felt very underwhelmed.

It's a battle between Greed and Envy for the finale.

In the face of Fate, it was Northern who posed an obstacle. A clash unfolds between Fate, armed with the Deadly Sin Weapon Envy, and Northern. The battleground witnesses a fierce confrontation between the wielders of Deadly Sins. Northern commands the formidable Divine Dragon, a force likened to a natural disaster, to assail Fate. As Fate engages in a desperate struggle, he ventures into the perilous Domain of E, teetering on the brink of being consumed by his own skill. With each facet of the conflict pushing him beyond his limits, the looming questions arise: Can Fate overcome Northern? Will he triumph over the relentless power of Divine Dragon? And, amidst it all, can he protect Roxy?

You know, I gotta say, the sword fighting in the first part of the battle was surprisingly well-animated for a show like this. It's crazy how Luna, lurking in the shadows, turned out to be the real hero, making sure Greed didn't go off the deep end. And seeing Greed in his human form before the series wraps up was a nice touch. Myne showing up again was a highlight for me; she's probably my favorite character, but that's not saying much considering how many others are either annoying or just plain predictable. I thought Eris, being front and center in the main visual, would have a bigger role in the story, but until this episode, she hasn't really stood out much. It's a bit of a bummer that Fate and Roxy, who seem perfect together, are going to be apart for now. At least Fate got his arm back in the end, though.

If I had to sum up this anime in two words, I'd say it's both "edgy" and "generic."

Fay's journey ends here.

After previously Fay met Roxy again, now they are at their respective jobs. Fay returns to hunting as the Gluttonous Skill. But for me this is still very lacking, especially at the end. Still curious because there are many things I want to know and other things.

It's good but not bad. So how long will we wait?

The show as a whole was quite underwhelming.

The pacing felt off, the deus ex machina just didn't feel right (Fate meeting that night, and helping him save his family). Meeting Myne and fighting alongside her and kind of immediately understanding skills and what not just all felt flat.

I feel like the producers left out far too much and only focused really on key points in the story.

As most people are saying, it's not great but it ain't bad. It's kinda just meh. The ending not all that satisfying.

Roxy finally meets Fay, but after realizing the man behind the mask is Fate, she has no choice but to accept reality, as he finishes the deed he started.

Fate vs. the Divine Dragon as well as Northern, he eventually knocked Northern down, which this girl Luna appeared before him to warn him about his Gluttony skill if he decides to consume the Dragon, but he really has no choice but to quell it, which he did, that feeds Greed even more, causing the skill to overwhelm him and go berserk. In the end, Roxy ended up saving him from his Gluttony skill, which without her, Myne had to execute him just to stop the skill's effects.

Turns out, Northern was just being manipulated by yet another Skill of Deadly Sin (of Envy), and there is reason to speculate more of the Gluttony that he wields right now. Sadly, Fate has decided to leave for Galia, leaving Roxy alone for their fated meeting in the future. With the Deadly Sins parting ways with Fate, his journey with Greed will continue to wherever it leads, onwards to their new adventure.

For a dark fantasy, this is really subpar and not all that different from other series like it.

Fate somehow able to pull out the win despite those dire circumstances. Defeating both Envy and the dragon. Having to fight that holy knight Northern with the Envy weapon was tough. Fate getting his arm sliced off was gruesome, I hate seeing injuries like that it makes me squirm. Fate using illusion magic to fool Northern was a great idea, completely fooled the guy and let Fate sneak around to finish him. Greed in human form within that realm was cool to see if only briefly. Fate consuming the dragon even if that meant losing himself was a noble sacrifice to make, he could've easily been done right there. Roxy saving Fate was a sweet moment, of course she wouldn't hate him even if he's got a skill like gluttony. Roxy is too pure hearted and definitely loves Fate too much to hate him. Fate going off with Eris and Myne was a smart idea though, he can't be airing Roxy the way he is with low stats and craving. Having to leave Roxy behind is tough but I know they'll reunite one day. Fate getting his arm back made me very happy. This show didn't have the best production quality but still I liked the characters and the world.

Roxy really is the fated one for Fate. She was able to calm him but now he seems to be sensitive to her so he had leave. Hope they can meet again soon. Was expecting a kiss there but oh well. Good to see Myne and Eris again. Greed has gotten a new form and we even got to see his human form. Fate's hand grew back already, thought he might stay like that for a while but took less than an episode to fix it. Btw Roxy looked older than Fate in their backstory so guessing she's older than him, that's nice.

Was like an average fantasy anime, not bad. Doubt s2 will happen but lets see.

Damn man I hate that we ended right as things were getting good here. Roxy and Fate finally meet again, envy revealed as a major villain, learning the mortal sin weapons can’t be destroyed, Fay joining forces with Eris and Myne, the stuff with Rafale etc.

Like most LN adaptations you can tell this was made as a glorified ad for the LN which worked on me as I now have all the books and will hopefully be able to start reading soon. This show isn’t going to blow a lot of people away in terms of being original, but original is overblown imo. Generic doesn’t equate to being bad as long as things are executed well and manage to be enjoyable, which this series did.

My biggest issues tend to be the asspulls that likely resulted just from the usual skipped content and the production quality which was subpar at times. They definitely did a good job of giving me enough to keep me interested and wanting more of this world. Now I’m really wondering what’s gonna happen with Rafale and the philosopher’s stone! I thought that he was mind controlling Northern last week, but if envy was doing it.. are they working together or do we have a minor+ major villain here or what!

For so long Roxy has served as Fate’s inspiration and motivation to get stronger, now he’s that for her. Can’t wait for their next reunion.

THANK FUCK Fay and Roxy aren't "I/We can do anything" MCs...

THAT ALONE made this more entertaining than most short black haired weapon weilding MC anime even if it was still mostly generic

and being entirely honest, and as much as i'd hate to admit it, the lack of a "pseudo harem" was actually a decent mix up as well, especially when the pseudo harem is also broken af

Oh no gluttony is going out of control as we foreshadowed from the start! But it's okay because Roxy's presence can just... stop it? A thing we haven't foreshadowed at all! Roxy ex machina?

So was the sin in Hanniel's core pride that was thought to have died?

"I will do anything for the future of the country. Even follow envy's plan. . . But if envy dies obviously his plan is somehow no longer for the benefit of the future of the country and I guess I'm on your side now???"

"You have your support now". . . as if you didn't reveal yourself to have been supporting him in the last like 12 minutes. going for an emotional impact like an absentee dad showing up for the first time in 20 years as his daughter is already halfway down the aisle to give her away dramatically.

The show ends in a way that leaves the door open for a second season. We'll see if we get it.
It was a fairly enjoyable show, nothing too outstanding happening, but the story doesn't try to be more than what it is. I was hoping to see more interactions between Fate and Myne and I always liked the dynamic between Fate and Greed.
I was torn between a 6 or a 7,bir after writing this, a 7 it is.

When Fate killed the Holy Knight way back when, I was hoping this show would be going in a different direction. Like he wanted to protect Roxy, but he had to hide his identity because he was actively killing corrupt people who also happened to be her allies, and Roxy (a well-meaning girl with more experience, who might even have seen some good in them) would be opposed to the idea of capital punishment. There would have been tension if Roxy ever found out who Corpse was. It would have put a damper on the romance, and that would be a shame since Foxy are a really cute couple. But I would have loved to see that story.

As for what we got, it was okay. Like the story here is very rushed and generic, but I feel like I'd like it better if we got more build-up, worldbuilding and exploration or ideas and characters. Like discovering and achieving Domain of E would have been a lot more interesting if we didn't learn about it like three minutes before Fate unlocked it. I don't know if the source material is better paced, and this anime was just rushing everything to tell a solid story within its time constraints? I'd give it a look and see, but eh. I don't have the energy. The anime put a bad taste in my mouth.

So to summarize, this anime should have made Fate x Greed the main ship. He should have dated the sword.

This was a good episode. Hope season 2 comes out at some point. I wish there was a better explanation as to why he wasn't consumed by Gluttony... (feel free to spoil me comment it on my profile :D)

A very easy watch, and always looked forward to it every sunday. A generally agreeable MC, pretty cool powers and stuff, and I liked the idea of sacrificing skill points to use bigger attacks, a give and take power is rare in anime.

Solid 7/10. Not ground breaking, but also not fantastic. Just good

@Scootboi While I agree that the give and take power is a great idea, it was executed very poorly in this series. We rarely, if ever, get to see Fate suffer the consequences of it. Every time he sacrifices his stats, he instantly gets it back later, which kind of makes it feel artificial. The only time it affects him, Myne shows up to save him anyway.

In this episode, he literally sacrifices all his stats to unlock Greed's 4th form, but then in the very same episode, he gets back whatever stats he needs to unlock 40% for "Twilight Healing" to get his arm back. It honestly doesn't feel like it's "give and take." A give and take power needs to lay out the consequences clearly, not just have the price handwaved away and paid back so easily every single time, because the cost becomes kind of meaningless if Fate has no problem getting it all back.

While the ending was good it really didn't provide much closure, actually it left the door wide open with the scene of one of the Vlericks being glad that Fate killed his brother. Also, I didn't fully understand how Fate's gluttony ability was immediately made controllable by Roxy's support, right after narrowly almost getting killed by Myne, but later on Eris tells Fate to leave Roxy for a bit since his gluttony ability kicks in with her name being mentioned (huh?). But nonetheless I did enjoy watching this and hopefully a season 2 is made.
