Negative Weiss and with it, the Nightmare Grimm has been awakened, and finding a way inside has proven more difficult than ever with the dream going out of control.

Ruby managing to scourge her way in with Blake and Yang following behind, with Jaune and Pyrrha failing to defend against Weiss and instead rushing their way out with the Sillies on the Company train, everything's happening at break-neck speed.

Every step with the Relic, Team RWBY is getting closer, but so is Negative Weiss cornering everyone and succeeding to banish them out of the Ice Queendom. Only one fact remains: the sword that was pierced onto the train that develops an immunity against the Nightmare, securing them safely.

With the Ice Queendom totally shut towards retaliators, the Schnee Family can rest in peace, and the result...is that Weiss is back to normal? With everyone congratulating Ruby, this is definitely her own dream that's she experiencing a meltdown of, and the truth is, she's the next victim of the Nightmare.

Ruby's dark chapter is forthcoming...

This dream thing was getting in my nerves, but now they double down, with a dream inside a dream.
And now Ruby is having an Evangelion moment.

This would have worked better as a movie. Better animation and a more dilluted story would really improve this anime. Overall I don't think is bad and I'm enjoying it for what it is, but it definetly could have been better

Damn if negative Weiss wasn’t bad enough now Ruby is stuck in her own nightmare. Wonder how they’re going to get both of them out. This arc has kinda dragged ngl. Didn’t even know it was episode 8 already.

Last week was aot and this week we're eva, I guess? Well it's looking like we really will be in this dream for the rest of the season. Not sure how I feel about that...

I never watched Eva but now I know what "a Shinji moment" is... When you got your Shinji moment you are practically finished and those guys cheering you up is just copium.

Everyone clapping for Ruby gave me Evangelion congratulations vibes. Honestly now I'm getting a bit tired of the dream world. It looks like Nega Weiss won and will go into a deep sleep, this is end game now. Ruby is going to nightmare dream world in a nightmare dream world. Blake and Yang are at the opposite end of this world. The only one who could possible save Weiss now is Jaune, and it just doesn't seem climatic with just Jaune saving her. Are they going to pull another MacGuffin chess piece that Nega Weiss needs to break before she can finally sleep forever. What are they going to do next episode?

Is the anime really going to be only about the dream...? Like I don't totally mind it since the way they are doing it is really cool, but it will be kinda sad if the anime adaptation is only for this entire arc lol.

Besides, that ending really creeped me out. Unless Jaune somehow manages to save everyone, which I doubt, this is starting to seem really hopeless, so I wonder how they'll get out of this lol. Also I really wonder what's with that Pyrrha, she seems really in her senses compared to others in the dream. Is it because Weiss admires her?

From what I understand, she is like a year or two younger than everyone else. It's still frustrating though.

Another crappy episode but at least it was a tiny bit better than the rest of the episodes, I guess. Pretty boring shit though and has crappy animation like expected and the dream keeps dragging on and on and now we have another fucking dream inside a dream.

I said this before and I will say it again, if I wasn't an RWBY fan I would have dropped this shit a long time ago and I hate dropping animes.

You know, this arc would have worked better if it was a movie or two or if they extended the recap into 5-6 episodes and shortened or fastened this Weiss arc a bit. At the very least, we got an Evangelion reference and possibly will get Ruby character introspection.

...how you could interpret this scene like that, even with obvious ominous tones, even with the fact that for the last several episodes we've been beaten over head with the "Nightmare never will give her victim back willingly", even with clear warning of the previous episode that "this is it, you fail now - she dies", is truly beyond me. Despite that, I wholeheartedly applaud you for the rest of the text, this feels like a legit review, very well written.

And on the theme of applause: I liked that scene, very nice JoJo reference. Also, with King Kong Chibi-Weisses I was expecting the daddy statue to grow into Godzilla daddy statue and give us the classic toku (Super Sentai, to be precise) fight, but alas.

Glad that they didn't do stupid Inception thing and instead now we have TWO Nightmare-infected chars to deal with, two worlds to visit. Now is the time for the rest of the JNPR to shine!

Glad that they took notes from Monty's original script for the third season and gave Jaune that obviously planned push to grow he didn't get in third season "thanks" to RT fucking everything up completely. Now he has that "cheating" ability to be invisible to Nightmare AND to feel its presence. Right now he might be weak - but with this perk he can pull it. Because no matter how weak a char is - if he can waltz freely right into the heart of the demon with laser precision, he don't need to be strong. But I feel that Nega-Weiss have something to say about it... +)

And that scene of Ruby getting overwhelmed with emotions, damn, that hit hard. She might be cool and strong - but here we see that she's really two years younger than the rest, and at that age two years is still a lot of difference.

Overall, stakes suddenly gets very high - and they already were high in the last episode. I was on the edge up until the previous episode - but now I'm on board. Time to forget that total trainwreck that RT turned RWBY into - something that makes Supernatural seasons after S05 looks like a good story - and enjoy a new take.

This series has a problem with animation consistency. One shot the models are small and in the next they are big.

The story is getting more interesting imo. People say it's a NGE reference, but since I haven't seen the show I'm really enjoying it. Now we have Ruby trapped in her nightmare inside Weiss' nightmare. That's like, twice the nightmare.

I legit thought for a second Big Nicholas was going to vaporize small Weiss using that beam, turns out it only dropped them from 3 meters high.

It is not surprising to hear people saying the show is getting boring for them because I’m feeling the same way; This is coming from someone who lives the original RWBY series. The animation is not very consistent too from what I’m seeing.

I would much rather have the entire series being made into a full movie and once that ends, a tv series (focuses on a broad story rather than just dreams) can be the continuation of it. There are many types of enemy GRIMM out there in the world so I certainly wouldn’t want see mainly dream type enemies only.

I'm liking the episodes fair enough, but it "bothers" me that this arc is taking so long, like damn, it's been like 5 episodes of this, it's taking to long in my opinion, will this be the final arc of the season? Because I don't feel like we have seen a lot of the characters per se, Weiss has been asleep for like 4 episodes, damn, I'm liking the chapters but I wish it wouldnt' take son long. Because if this is not the final arc, that arc will be at much 3 episodes compared to the expected 6 episodes of this arc.

Poor Ruby though she's clearly losing her mind and we end up with a dream in the dream especially that it's supposed to take place in the reality so it's even more mind fuck xD And I got strong Evangelion vibes during the clapping scene of course
