| I recently got back to hentai and enjoyed Reverse NTR, which is really hard to find. But I am sure this may be a genre certain types of anime fans will find them entertaining. So Should it or shouldnt it? On a side note, should Isekai be a genre of its own? |

| I dont know about weird taste threads but I think moe or cgdct at least should have its own genre since its such a huge part of the shows airing and already existing. And many people are looking for exactly that in anime so it could help searching. |

| For the term, gender is irrelevant when stealing but if really matters to you, use sites that categories tags for each gender separately. G-E and 'sad panda' for example. A quick search for those translated in English with female doing the stealing resulted in over 600 results. It's not hard to find NTR with the girl doing the stealing. |

On G-E you use male:netorare to find those with female doing the stealing as it is applying to the male being stolen. Female:netorare for the girl being stolen. The only reason to use reverse ever in a tag is because that site doesn't have gender specifics or just has a shitty tag system, which is why I rarely use anything outside of the two sites I listed for doujins, etc, cause they all have shitty tag systems. edit: My numbers were wrong though, that was the amount for female NTR. |

Why the word alone refers specifically to the male POV and when we want to refers specifically to the female POV we speak of "reverse"? Why the word alone isn't neutral, and we distinguish with "male" and "female" or something like that when we want to specify? Incidentally, that's what explained @Paul a little above. You said the 'norm' was for the term to be about the male and the reverse version was always about girls, which is true with traps and harems but with NTR it's the opposite, it's all about the girls actions and reversal is about the male so it doesn't support your theory, that's all. If you want to know why the term reverse in general is being used it's just based on popularity and percentages. When one version of something shows up much more often than the others people will perceive it as the standard version and the others as variations of that. That's just human psychology. Whether the most popular version happens to be about males or females or whatever else doesn't matter in that context and depends on outside factors. If you want to criticize anything then criticize the reasons why there are so much more harems than reverse harem or whatever but it's not the fault of the fans to perceive vastly more popular versions of a trope as the standard. Because in a sense it IS the standard if it represents 90% or so of the overall trope. |
