after watching this episode, we can see the similarity between the 2 character...

What the fuck happened between episode 7 and 8 ?
It seems like a lot of story has been cut down. :/
On the episode 7 she was reading her book and now she got an anime ?

Didn't really like this ep.
Nothing really happened. (But then again it was filler?)

Next time you make filler: Try to at least use comedy and not minutes of Kirino being happy about her anime, followed up by some overdone "We won't adapt this 1to1 yadayada" stuff. Yes, this might be (somewhat overdone) reality and Kirino being all cool about her own anime would've been REALLY strange, but still.
By far the worst "drama"-part of the show. (It didn't help that the premise was kinda... :| )
Kuroneko was somewhat the saving-grace in the end.

Also while I don't dislike Kirino, this episode made her look a bit too bitchy for my taste. Up till now they at least let her show SOME gratitude... well Filler.

This needs to stop being boring, bad and repetitive.. and be new and funny again like it was during the first two episodes. ~5 minutes into episode 8, I could already tell that her novel will be messed with and Kyousuke has to go fix it (again) by eating dirt himself because that's the only thing he's good at.. and literally the only thing he exists for in the show. Soon after he'll probably get abused again for.. i don't even know what for. Same procedure as usual, James? etc.

In the first place, how did it only take 2 episodes from Kirino coming clear about her Otaku tendencies with her modelling friend, brother, parents and even herself.. to writing and publishing a full fledged imouto-yuri novel.. which then somehow sets sail for TV screening? I guess after watching this episode, I should know?! : p

The only enjoyable character left for now is definitely Kuroneko.

I'm slow..I just realised this: the producer character from ep8 just about trolled the anti-Kirino camp everywhere. I mean...he parodied the haters perfectly:

Him: nah the character are totally unrealistic, the setting doesn't make sense, I mean how can viewers like a 100% tsun and 0% dere main character? I want the anime to have characters personalities world views and plot development that I LIKE.

REALITY: I hate Kirino why does Kyousuke put up with all this BS I mean I hate her guts that's the only reason I watch this series so that I can fuel the Kirino hate!

Oh..wait....if Oreimo was about the typical brotherly-sister sibling family drama....you get..... 俺の妹がこんなに中二病わけがない

The whole episode was cringe worthy. Anime logic has no place in business, even if the business is based off of animes. And Kirino needs to learn the meaning of the word "BUDGET".

This episode was probably the worst of the bunch. It was tolerable, but my least favourite. First, she gets her novel turned into an anime, which was a pretty "WTF" moment. I mean, that came out of nowhere.

Now with the episode. First and foremost, I was pleased to hear Shizuka Itou's voice (Iori Fate Setsuna) this episode, despite her not having much lines. Kirino was very aggrivating this episode and has been for the past couple of episodes. I sort of agree with Kuroneko and that Kirino should be brought down a couple of notches.

Kirino really needs a dose of reality, sooner rather than later. Kirino used to be one of my favourites from this series and she has fallen quite a bit down my list.

Kuroneko (and Shizuka as a guest voice) is what made this episode tolerable for me. Kuroneko in the train scene made me glad I was able to watch through this episode. She really needs a big hug after this episode.

7/10 Reason: Kirino really urked me this episode, as well as the fact that Ryosuke keeps putting up with her attitude. I like Kirino as much as the next guy, but her last scene in this episode deserves a slap. Thank god for Kuroneko this episode, as I would have given this below 5.

Wait a minute, is it possible there was actually some fridge brilliance in this episode? At first I thought the entire thing was ironic because it's an episode about the author of a coming anime adaptation wanting the anime to be faithful to the source material and eventually getting her way, and yet this wasn't in the source material. In the end, the episode was pretty bad. Are the creators actually telling us that when you screw with the source material and create original material it turns out bad, so you should just adapt it faithfully?

When I look at it like that, I suddenly have a lot more respect for this episode.

Anyway, this was one of the best episode so far. After that disastrous 8th episode, now it is going somewhere. It followed novel very well and the pacing was so good. All those ironies coming from that tsun-imouto from the game, Kuroneko's action contrasting to situation, 'true Saori's appearance etc. were overwhelmingly fantastic.

I like it, cause its the first time Kirino actually struggles to suceed at something she is really passionate about. And its the first time you see her so vulnerable.

I like how you learn more about Kuroneko's feelings and the beginning of what seems to be a new romantic route between her and Kyousuke.

Saori was to much of a background character though which I felt was a shame.

I'm so tired ofalways reading the long threads... but who cares... Thank godness a Mod came in between and finally warned the users... Thanks for coming 'cause thi is not a discussion thread. Still I'm reading it... I'm so like Kyosuke >> Anyway...
DuskGolem said:
Me theory on why Kyousuke hates his sister and why he goes to such extreme lengths to help her is directly related to, "Treat others how you'd like to be treated." I know I have done extreme things for others in the hope they'll appreciate it and maybe do the same for me when I need it. However this is setting itself up since Kirino is being past stubborn and Kyousuke is likely going to crack from this in the upcoming episodes. They have made it a point in the anime to show how it's getting harder for Kyousuke to keep being there for Kirino and it's taking a toll on him.

I would never go that far for my sister if she was like that, if they did something selfless to help me I would do the same back for them, but I wouldn't exert myself for someone who continued to treat me like a problem that far into helping. >_>

Also do I sense Kuroneko falling for Kyousuke and maybe jealous how much attention Kyousuke pays attention to Kirino?
Indeed... the biggest problem here is why Kyosuke keeps on exerting himself so bad... Seriously he went to the extent to make the worst and more disgraceful form of apology/plead in the goddamned Japanese Society! And I bet he remained like that until they left! And just realising you hate her? WTF! Really that's not the case

My only valid and possible theory is that he simply wants to look out for her and take care of her and protect her from all the horrible things of the world. You ask why? Well because he just simply wants her to be the perfect, to remain perfect and protect her from all the suffering he has sustained so far. That's the only possible explanation. Unless he's a siscon... Then that's so far other matters xD And yep Kuro is jealous of Kirino and she wants a big bro like Kyosuke badly!
Akakori said:
I can actually see the reasoning behind the topic of this episode. The novel dealt with a problem commonly faced in the light novel world, and the anime deals with a problem commonly faced in the anime world. Makes sense to me. People say, "how ironic..." but I'm pretty sure it was intentional.

Totally agree that Kirino is not developing. She really doesn't seem to learn. I don't mind her personality, because I actually know someone who seems to be blessed with luck, but nothings changing, and neither is her brother. For once just say "Hey, I did all this shit for you, gimme some acknowledgement at least!" man!
Makes sense *nods* But it went overboard xD At least we got a half explanation from Saori-shi for all this ruckus xD I'm actually surprised that her ideas are so popular to actually consider making it to an Anime.... Now that's pretty unreal. Dun pay attention to the Anime pros but the fact the novel is so popular @@

Saying that everything else was hilariously impossible is a given. Ranting Notes for the ANime from the story, then shutting the producers' mouths out while ranting and being turned around was woah.... and then getting his bro to speak on her behalf.... Oh wells... At least Kuroneko, and Saori a bit, was awesome. Pointing out the obvious I may say but hey sometimes that's needed to clear out ideas and to deal with all this kind of matters clearly. I think my applause this time is for Kuro and a bit for Kyosuke for saving her Anime that will be an Anime based mostly on her Story not just an anime based on her Universe... Woot for Kuro and Kyo

Las life Counselling aye? Eroge? Wonder what will happen next episode... The episode wasn't as bad as the last one tho... I prefer this one over that last one >>

Kirino is a disgusting and an irrational character. Life isn't fair and she should experience failure, but fortunately for her mentioned by Kirino's bro, things always find a way to work out in her interest in the end. She should be thankful people even have interest in her piece of garbage novel :/

OK just kidding, but no way in hell is breaking into the industry that easy. I'm currently writing a manga, and it's seriously something that I see as an idea to rival some of the best. Obviously it's a biased opinion, but it's something that could definitely take off if someone were to publish it. I envy this fictional character, yes. Maaan I wanna get mine animated... but doesn't everyone.

Anyway, great episode haha. Things are starting to get a bit rediculous.

Ick. Kirino is so annoying! Possibly as annoying as Megumi (Shiki). Obnoxious tsundere is obnoxious.

Seriously, if the remaining episodes are just Kyousuke pandering to Kirino and avoiding the obvious incestual jokes, well, that's pretty fucking sad. Bring back the yandere, reveal Saori's secret, pair Kyousuke up with Kuroneko -- SOMETHING. Anything entertaining would be better than what this show is like atm.

This episode is possibly the worst episode I've seen up to date, but it's kept watchable and entertaining purely because of Kuroneko and her heroic appearance and shizuka-san's guest appearance.

Kuroneko's being more and more loveable as the episodes progress, I love her smart-alecky and sarcastic attitude. And her personality has so many different aspects! She can be dramatic and energetic one moment and back to her sharp-tongue wits the next. Kuroneko's also an expert in using her words and smarts to persuade others to listen and do as she wish, something that most of the characters in this anime lack. What she says make complete sense and every word seems to ring in your mind over and over again, I wish I could become as professional at speaking as she is. She's currently my favorite character in the series! next to Saori and Kyousuke. I hope she get's alot more camera time in the future episodes!~

Correction:
Kuroneko did not research the director - moreso the director was like Kuroneko.

She researched on how to create a good novel for herself. She tried multiple times and had yet to get a hit as big as Kirino's. So she's like "how is her one novel better than all of my work?" The director felt the same way.

If it was the intention, then it's pretty awesome. Though I could see why they would change it. The original material was related to the light novel, whereas this was about the anime version (novel and novel, anime and anime)

Also liked how Kirino mentioned that every OP and ED should be different.. something Ore no Imouto did (OP song may not be diff, but the animations are slightly varied).

I am rather very impressed by this episode. It's interesting, I hated it throughout the first 20 or so minutes but Kuroneko's speech really mirrored my feelings throughout the majority of the episode. I was flabbergasted by how easily Kirino broke into the industry. I mean, the bestselling book alone was far-fetched but the addition of an anime adaptation so quickly pushed it over the top for me.

I, like Kuroneko and the director, was appalled that Kirino always got what she wanted.. I too was ecstatic when her ideas were rejected and sent her into mild depression. I never liked Kirino as a character; I thought of her as hubris incarnate. She truly was unbearable this episode but I still felt somewhat guilty wishing misfortunate upon her. It's a disgusting feeling really, to wish failure upon others out of jealousy.

I can recall many times in real life when I wanted my ex-girlfriend or my friends to fail just because I was jealous. Hopefully I finally outgrew those malignant feelings. I was rather relieved that I felt no jealousy whatsoever when my best friend got accepted into Harvard last spring, while I was left to attend an average liberal arts college in Vassar.

For her speech, which in my opinion salvaged the episode, Kuroneko earned my admiration and the title of best character in the series. Poor girl. "Must be nice," indeed.

Whatever redeeming features Kirino might have had were shot down so hard; she doesn't deserve her brother, her anime adaption, or her friends blankly put she deserves nothing; the girl needs a reality check pronto! i mean seriously she gets all ill just because life doesn't go 100% her way... she should be grateful they are even thinking of adapting her piece of crap novel in the first place; the end really pissed me of. now i know she is ignorant of them helping her but her snob attitude getting even worse was a no go for me.

I found myself agreeing with almost all of what Kuroneko said since its easy to feel jealousy when others reach success; since the thought that some people have it way to easy sometimes crosses my mind; like the people who are born into wealth and never give a care in the world; they are pampered from birth. Her speech salvaged what i really disliked about this episode since i was really hoping they wouldn't give it a anime adaption since it doesn't seem like she will ever learn her lesson now; unless the anime fails which i doubt.Lastly best question asked by Kuroneko... why the hell would he put up with it; i mean there are some funny answers that come to mind but really...There should be a limit to how much one can tolerate.

yeah, this episode did it for almost everybody that had liked Kirino. even though she got her book turned into an anime, because of the things that weren't given to her (i.e. 52 episodes, new opening and ed - lol) she went into some pissy bitch mode.. kuroneko does a PERFECT job of pointing this out too. Kuroneko writes books and submits them but never has any success.. Kirino writes one book and gets success. she calls herself jealous, therefore we can all relate to kuroneko and thus, her popularity rating goes up. intentional? yeah.

this episode did a great job of showing jealousy, envy.. i mean cmon, everybody knows that perfect someone that doesn't have to try to get what they want and we all hate that person. in this anime, that person would be kirino.

I say this hate towards kirino is definitely intentional from the authors. probably building up to something involving kuroneko, maybe, don't know what but i know for sure, i will absolutely stay tuned.

I'd say this post more or less nails it. This is also why I don't dislike Kirino in the least, I think it's pretty clear that this was the intended reaction the show was going for.

guyklc said:

I was going to comment on Kirino's tsundereness, but it feels like everyone has said it already. Yeah, Kyousuke spoils her, but am I the only one who feels a little bit bad for Kirino? She may need a slap to reality, but it wasn't like the anime makers were any better, treating other people's prized creation as just another "thing" to make some last minute cash. Especially that long-haired glasses guy, releasing his anger and jealousy on a third party member. Very unprofessional.

This is probably what annoyed me the most. Yes, I understand the anime industry is a business but to edit something until it's utterly unrecognizable is just something I can't agree with. Changing the lead character to a male just because it's "safe" is ridiculous as well and could very well change the nature of the story.

There was over dramatization in this episode, such as Kureneko bitching out the people (which was awesome anyway) but I think there was some truth about the entertainment industry here as well. As unlikable as Kirino may be, it has to feel terrible that her "art" could have been very well butchered there.

Wow. Kirino was so excited (picking out character designers, seiyuus, OP and ED changes, animators ... really?!) and she got shot down hard. It's cold hard business, baby. Yes, she needed a little reality check, but of course it'd be horrible to fee that your work had to be changed for business reasons like that. It's how the entertainment industry works. However, I thought it was really well done at the end with Kuroneko saying how she disliked it but also brought up good points about why certain things sell and not letting personal feelings get in the way. Why do certain ones succeed when others fail? Just goes to show that just being good won't bring you success. Plus, Kyousuke begging like that was so touching D: Man, I really wish I had an older brother T_T I'm jealous just like you, Kuroneko! I understand what Kyousuke says about just being siblings, though. It's really one of those things you just can't explain :S (Siscon? Masochist? LOL XD)
