I'm curious what this set piece was like in the manga, a medium without audio.

This plot point unfortunately had the demon-slayer-breathing effect for me where it feels like they're just sort of making up some shit as a reason for the MC to level up in strength. I recognize that there's plenty of truth in rhythm being important to fighting, and I think the production team did the best job of explaining it that they could have, but just her explaining it one more time and him going "Ohh" and then suddenly being immune to the projectiles felt a little flimsy to me. Still really liked the episode- the singing giants were my favorite part.

Hopefully next episode will conclude the Evil Eye arc.
@KM_31 Honestly I really like how slow they're going with it. Makes Evil Eye feel more like a genuine threat and a moral dilemma. Free to have your opinion, tho.

@Uguu_Tsukimiya Danganronpa reference? Damn I must’ve missed it, which part was it?
@TheColonel76 Here :

Apparently it is only in the French translation, "C'est l'heure de ton exécution" litteraly means "It's punishment/execution time for you". Because Turbo Baba has a little Monokuma vibes I wondered if the reference was intentional. But since the phrase is totally different in the English subs I assume it's just a tiny joke inserted by Crunchyroll France. Or maybe just a coincidence.

My God, Science SARU are redefining what an anime adaptation is at this point. The liberty, creativity and cinematography are just off the charts with this one!
Every new anime adaptation will need to face those brutal expectations from an audience that has seen the absolute PEAK adaptation!

The musicians’ part could be shorter, but it was ok. Okarun’s clash with the Evil Eye was cool. Aira’s reaction was interesting, is she losing her love for Okarun?

I don't understand what the hell is happening, that's why I like dandadan. It's unpredictable and messed up. It's like a dream happening within a dream. Ridiculously good! Give me more!

Probably the most original "training" episode I have seen in shounen. Truly entertaining from beginning to end. In fact, it was so entertaining I totally forgot the main reason why Okarun was training for... yeah, to defeat/subdue Evil Eye because Jiji is a dumbass who prioritizes the existence of a murderous spirit over the lives of his best friends -.-'

Now that was EPIC!! Did not expect it'd turn out to be this incredible last time. Felt really game like. Maybe that was intentional with the literal use of "Bullet Hell". Reminded me of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. The sense of speed and the hype was unlike anything that came before this. They really did go all out. If it wasn't already mentioned the Style in these fights are incredible. Okarun and Aira's colors really pops out in the black and white. We've already had a similar B/W fight back in season 1 but this was still unique. Loving it. Insane Animation throughout. It really was Sakuga feast. Okarun challenging Evil Eye head on was interesting.

Its rare that a season goes from so bad to absolutely amazing in such a short time. The start to this season was rough, but as soon as we got off that mountain it just got better and better and this is plain brilliant.

Incredible animation for the Orchestral fight. I was also surprised to see how good was hands on piano.

Evangelion vibes from that 9th Symphony!

Also, very creative. This is my favorite episode with the Hayashi Concert.

The use of music in this series is perfect.

@Uguu_Tsukimiya Oooh I see, no wonder I didn’t notice lol, someone in France is a Danganronpa fan then, that’s a pretty cool easter egg.

Cheers for classical doing its thing. Nothing like an obscene supply of projectiles to force people to amp speed. She has no problems dodging, and he.. has to adjust 😆

He doesn't know songs? 💀 Lucky to have the rock performance from earlier to fall back on then. Dude could afford to add a little more to the repertoire

Fitting for the composers to all jump into their own thing though.. only for Beethoven to rein them in. They got some numbers to em frfr. And the chorus just hits. Fight may as well be a Dark Souls boss or something with the waves to it all.

This is why I love Dandadan fights. What a great beginning of the episode. If only all fights were that dynamic.

The rest was.. some buildup. He really got some bravado off the composers.

And let the big fight commence 👏 encore of Evil Eye vs Okarun

The musical composer battle training arc is quite the unique challenge for both Okarun and Aira, facing bullet note bombs and literate meanings that could get their survival chances in jeopardy. The former thinking about HAYASii's nonsensical rock music to get this rhythm going, and no one can do this infamy quite like Dandadan, throwing nonsense and turning that into absolute quality.

Still, when one composer is down, the others double down, but Beethoven sure is the undisputed leader, bringing out Symphony No. 9's Ode to Joy choral arrangement like the illusion plague it is just to stop two egomaniacs manifesting their powers, be it orchestrated musical giants or notes that kill. It's a test of rhythm and beats for Okarun, Aira and Turbo Granny to dispel quite the disharmony meant to kill them, and Okarun absolutely killed the musical composition thanks to Airi. The school's apparitions, sure bring quite the intriue on them though.

Manjiro setting Jiji's Evil Eye exorcism being set in stone is not good, and Okarun coming back to deal a rematch with Evil Eye, it's the only logical thing to do so.

Time for yet another hyped fight!

Damn!! That was like the most unique fight I have ever watched in an anime, made me think how can people come up with such creative ideas.

I remember they used classical music in their first exorcism session too and that was already so creatively enjoyable, wasn't expecting there'll be another fight literally focused on classical music XD

What an amazing episode!!

I have to say I think this could be one of my all-time favourite anime episodes :}
It was just so good and I really enjoyed the use of classical music as a battle mechanic.

This episode really is pure kino mhm.

Aira with her whole aot moment was absurdly a spectacle to watch.

With the ending of the episode, Okarun and Evil Eye are going to settle once again and if I were to predict, somehow Okarun is going to find a way to stop his chaostry and not hurt any people ever again.
