| Huh I didn't know about the specific gravity / relative density test. I was never taught these things in geology class and I never got to take chemistry. I guess if I had time I could have found these things through observation myself. The more I watch this the more I am tempted to sneak off to some creek and look for stuff but issue is it is on private property xD |

| I’d been excited for Miton’s debut as episode director after following his detailed, “voluminous” animation for a long time, and this episode delivered. Mamoru Kurosawa’s SB was great too, really liked the faraway shots here. The whole episode looked beautiful, with strong drawings and smooth animation that never stopped for all 20 minutes. Very strong debut for Miton, and I’m glad it was on a Shingo Fuji show, they share a similar style, and this series fit him perfectly. |

Ruri impressed me last episode, but she's back to being an annoying little child.
Finding something in the river and insisting that it's silver, in front of actual experts, without any evidence, is literal 5-year-old behavior. I don't understand how she can act this way, even after Nagi has shown her multiple times by now that the world of mineralogy is vast and complicated. It got especially irritating when she was whining "not fair" as they were running tests in the lab, all to help her find out what it is.

If the other characters got annoyed or gave her an earful, Ruri's behavior at least could've added some personality and relationship stuff to the show. But Nagi and the glasses lady are mostly overlooking it or just dispensing wisdom with a straight face, which is not only kinda boring but makes Ruri look even worse. |
| Show is fine. Ruri has been more annoying than anything and her behavior feels more like an elementary kid rather than a high school student. Feels simultaneously carried by Nagi but she is limited to being the "cool older sister" type with nothing else going on. |
